We started with some chicken satay, the chicken skewers are well marinated, and tender, the peanut sauce is thick, so good. We also had Shrimp Tom Yum, the broth is hot, sour, sweet and salty, nice flavor of herbs, onions and mushrooms, good Tom Yum. Most of the food I've tried here has been really delicious, except for a pineapple fried rice that I got to-go recently. The rice came in a pineapple shell so the presentation was lovely, but it had a strange flavor to it that was a bit off-putting, so I don't recommend ordering that. Hunsa Thai is one of our go-to spots for lunch. The food is very good. I have a foodie coworker who also digs this place. The food is spicy. They have spice from 1 - 10. I have not ventured above 5 or 6. 5 is going to be spicey for most folks, abov that is at your peril. The atmosphere is nice and the service is decent. I have had a number of the curries and pad noodles. All were good. This is one of the few restaurants that serves duck, for those who enjoy it. Drove by here as it was close to taylor lake and it's on the way. I ordered the pork BBQ fried rice to-go. Was told to wait 10 mins but the food was out in about 5. For a whopping $19 I was expecting at least a lot more rice but man was I disappointed. Not only did I get a few slices of pork, but the general serving is just so tiny. The food is phenomenal, that is no question. My issue is what happened when I ordered our food using the Yelp app. What I am not pleased with is the fact that the 35%+ markup on each menu item was not disclosed upon ordering. I have no problem paying for special services such as delivery but I had no idea at the time of my order that it would be over 35% increase on cost on each menu item ordered on the Yelp app. My bill skyrocketed from $60 to almost $100. I had no idea of the exorbitant increase ON TOP OF an approximate $5 service charge PLUS delivery (which was expected, of course). It is good customer service to disclose a price increase so the customer can make an informed decision. I'll be looking more closely from now on. read more

I tried this spot recently and absolutely love it... I would say it is one of the best Thai spots in Clear Lake! The restaurant seems to have Laos influences, offering boat noodles and other dishes that you don't typically see at Thai restaurants. We ordered the papaya salad, Panang curry, and fried fish with spicy lime sauce. Everything tasted delicious and so flavorful! Sitting in an unassuming plaza next to a grocery store, Hunsa is a Thai restaurant with a unique atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff, and delicious Thai fare. My parents wanted to try something new, and we all left happy and full after our meal :) The menu is really cute with explanations for most dishes and lot of pictures as well. I liked that they offer dishes that I haven't seen on other Thai menus in the area. Our waitress recommended the Hoi Jor, which is like a fried crab meatball (comes with 6 pieces and they're tasty, fresh, and hot!), and we also got the Chicken Satay skewers (4 grilled hot and very tender pieces, loved the peanut sauce). We enjoyed them and the entrees came out soon after. The Thai omelet was a simple, savory, and addicting pan fried egg and crab meat omelet, which was actually my family's favorite dish! The green curry was quite sweet (we opted for no spiciness though) and heavy on the coconut milk, would say it was good but not near the top of green curries in my book. Pad See Ew flat rice noodles were super savory and slightly sweet, an addicting combo that really hit the spot. Our final dish, the Pad Cha (never heard of before but it's seafood with veggies and herbs on a sizzling hot plate) had a good serving of veggies + a medley of mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari (around 3 pieces of each). The Pad Cha was a bit pricey but nice to try! You can choose brown rice, white rice, or fried rice to go with your entrees. We were happy with our meal, everything was pretty tasty and solid. Some dishes are pretty pricey (the Pad Cha was $19), but most everything else is reasonable. There are a lot of healthy choices too! Service was unbeatable; they checked up on us occasionally and were so friendly and enthusiastic too. They boxed up our leftovers and use a portable electronic iPad type thing for your payment instead of having to wait for a check. There is a lot of space with booths, tables, and even high chairs at a table near the entrance for solo diners. Don't forget your yummy cup of Thai milk tea when you check in on yelp! Went with my husband on a Wednesday evening after searching for new Asian cuisine restaurants in the Clear Lake/NASA/League City area. Hunsa Thai Kitchen is located in a strip mall anchored by the only grocery store in the NASA area, Arlan's. The exterior of the restaurant is very cute, especially compared to its bland neighbors'. We were greeted by a friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. The colors and decor are very pleasant. We ordered the curry puff appetizer, a red curry with chicken, beef drunken noodles, and a mango sticky rice for dessert. The food comes out very quickly. The curry puffs are excellent and are accompanied by some cut cucumber and red onions glazed with a sweet syrup (?). You get three puffs per order. The red curry is also tasty; a nice combination of sweet and fishy and spicy. It comes with a bowl of rice. The drunken noodles are very good, too. The noodles are cooked well and all the veggies and meat work beautifully together. They do their drunken noodles with a stronger fish sauce taste than Thai Stellar's (down the street, also excellent). For dessert we had the mango sticky rice, which is a dish neither of us had had. The cold mangos are sweet and refreshing, which contrast with the warm sticky rice and coconut milk. It's a very heavy dessert, and perhaps we shouldn't have ordered it after a carb-heavy meal. It kind of sat like a brick in my stomach for the next hour. All in all, we are glad to include Hunsa Thai Kitchen on our list of places to visit regularly. The prices are a little high, but the dishes are delicious and filling. We must all do our part in supporting local businesses. read more

Found this place by driving by and finally ate there a few months ago. I went with a group so we did it family-style so we could try a few dishes. The food was FANTASTIC--fresh, full of flavor, and so much variety. It's a bit pricey (as most Thai restaurants) but you definitely get your money's worth eating here. The service inside was fantastic but we also went in the middle of the week. We tried the Chicken Satay, Shrimp Suit, Chicken wings for appetizers. The chicken wings were the perfect crispy and not too sweet. The chicken satay was perfectly grilled and still soft! I didn't mind the shrimp suit but it's just shrimp with a crispy coating that you dip in sweet/sour sauce--so I would probably try something else as a third choice. Pad Thai was good! It's always my safe choice and it was delicious however the other food we ordered was even better! I got the Drunken noodles and it was so fresh and the flavor was just right--not too salty and the spice level was just enough kick. We tried the green, red, and yellow curries and the best was the green and red curry, however, we tend to like those sweet with a bit more savory flavor. This place is another little hidden gem in seabrook! I dined in today they sat me right away. They have canned sodas with a cup and ice but it was only $1.50 so I didn't mind. I ordered the egg rolls for an app and drunken noodles with beef and added broccoli! Service was quick and friendly! Second time coming here and finally getting around to finishing and writing this review. I was craving some Thai food and wanted to go somewhere where it was open and available for dine-in. Decided on this place, as I was craving their wings for some reason. We were seated relatively quickly since there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. It was quiet and peaceful with Thai music playing in the background. Service is great, per usual. The staff is just really kind and courteous to their guests. Started off with the wings (of course) and I love the array of flavors that they use to marinate the wings in. It also has a crispy skin outside and the chicken itself is really juicy and moist on the inside. For my main entree, I ordered the kao soi noodles for the very first time. And it was really delicious. They served up a lot for the entree, so I ended up having to take my leftovers home. In terms of authenticity, it was definitely true to the flavors and taste of my family's homemade kao soi noodles. This is definitely one of my top choices for Thai food in the area for exceptional service and authentic Thai food! Coming back here is a must. read more

We got the pad see ew, pad Thai, and the yellow curry special of the day. We added on a bowl of steam noodles, chicken satay, vegetable spring rolls and egg rolls and everyone was full and very little wasn't eaten. Prices were reasonable, food was fast and tasty, and the consensus was that we would return sometime in the future. The lunch special was a good value in that it came with a bowl of soup and wonton. Meh... For now, anyway. Came here on a Wednesday for lunch. The joint, which is located in a strip adjacent to a Subway, is pleasant with plenty of darks and contrasting yellows. It's comfortable and roomy. Service is very polite, but inconsistent. The food ordered at our table (all of which I sampled) was brought out in stages. The chicken satay was not as moist as some I've had and tasted very much of (Indian) curry. Not bad, just not expected. Shrimp suits were fresh and crisp ... Fun, even. Wings in sweet chili sauce were crispy cooked, but very dry. That's pretty tough to do with the white/dark-meat hybrid like wings. I really think someone dropped them in the fryer and forgot about them. That would explain why the satay and shrimp suits were long finished by the time our nice server brought the wings to the table. The Boat Noodles were supposed to be the highlight of the meal, but disappointed in almost every way. First, the stock tasted scorched. Additionally, I felt like someone tried to mask it with vinegar. Legit Boat Noodles stock is made with blood, and it's supposed to have some slight bitterness. The stuff here tasted like they *missed* the boat. ~ The cook included plenty of meat, but it was mostly dry. I have higher hopes for this place than what I experienced during this visit. Decided to give this place another try. I called to place a take-out order, and I ordered Ka Prow and the lady asked what spice level I wanted on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the hottest. It is a nice quiet place near Kemah Boardwalk and the space center. We came here after visiting the space center on a hot day. They gave a free Thai iced tea if you checked in on Yelp, which we did. It has an intimate setting with a wide variety of Thai food to choose from. We and another couple were the only ones there since it was 3 in the afternoon. Our mains were good. You can definitely share one noodle dish between two people. No spice level was asked but they had spices on the side. The Thai iced tea was sweet and flavorful. They came in a nice decorative glass.
