Went for lunch with friends and the soup really hits the spot on a cold day!! The server was friendly and and the lunch menu was very affordable and generous. The place is cozy and clean and quiet. I'm definitely coming back. A wonderful local business. I don't eat much Thai food, but this place was great!

How have I lived around the corner for 7 years and never eaten here? Ordered DoorDash while watching the 'Stros and to my surprise (not sure why I'm surprised) the noodles were legit... Delivery was seamless with DD, timely... food wasn't super hot so that's not my fave but the flavor was great, a little greasier than I like however. Price point, a little high but the convenience can't be beat! Overall, pretty good first experience!

pineapple fried rice with tofu - cool that it came in a pineapple, but the taste was not that great

Hunsa is a nice local Thai spot in Clear Lake with a convenient location and friendly service. Their lunch specials are a great deal and come with an entree, spring roll, and soup! Most of the food I've tried here has been really delicious, except for a pineapple fried rice that I got to-go recently. The rice came in a pineapple shell so the presentation was lovely, but it had a strange flavor to it that was a bit off-putting, so I don't recommend ordering that. The stir fries and pad see ew noodles are good choices.

    Spring rolls

Service was excellent; very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The spring rolls were very fresh and a ton of food. The Kao Soi was perfect. If you want to try something that has a bold and unique flavor I would highly recommend. Will be back.

The food is phenomenal, that is no question. My issue is what happened when I ordered our food using the Yelp app. What I am not pleased with is the fact that the 35%+ markup on each menu item was not disclosed upon ordering. I have no problem paying for special services such as delivery but I had no idea at the time of my order that it would be over 35% increase on cost on each menu item ordered on the Yelp app. My bill skyrocketed from $60 to almost $100. I had no idea of the exorbitant increase ON TOP OF an approximate $5 service charge PLUS delivery (which was expected, of course). It is good customer service to disclose a price increase so the customer can make an informed decision. I'll be looking more closely from now on.

Ordered green curry with chicken steamed veggies and brown rice after a long day. My work continued into the night. I was pleasantly surprised by food straight to my door. It was the best wrapped delivery of a very saucy food I have ever had. The food was fresh, light and delicious. I asked for no bell peppers (I didn't think that was an option with curry) but the order was perfect. I will order again. Tomorrow maybe?!

I tried this spot recently and absolutely love it... I would say it is one of the best Thai spots in Clear Lake! The restaurant seems to have Laos influences, offering boat noodles and other dishes that you don't typically see at Thai restaurants. We ordered the papaya salad, Panang curry, and fried fish with spicy lime sauce. Everything tasted delicious and so flavorful! Word of warning: their spice scale goes from 1-10... and even a 4/10 was pretty spicy. I would love to come back to try more of their dishes.

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 5/5 Overall: 3.7/5 My most recent visit of Nam Thai was a rare miss for the restaurant. I've gone about five times now and this was by far my least favorite experience (I still liked it, but I was a little disappointed), which was unfortunate since this was my parent's first experience here. My only issues were the food, so here's my opinion on each one we ordered: 1. Thai Tea - 4.8/5 - Definitely one of the best Thai Teas at a restaurant. Though I could still use more of the Thai Tea base flavor rather than milk, everyone at my table still enjoyed this drink. 2. Red Curry - 4.5/5 - Quite nice and had very good flavor. I don't love the addition of bell peppers in here, but that's a personal preference. 3. Pad See Ew - 3/5 - Kind of basic. Nothing made it stand out and noodles this kind of stuck together and became mushy. 4. Pad Thai - 3/5 - I've gotten this twice before, and for some reason it just tasted completely different and nothing like what Pad Thai should actually taste like. Not bad, but just not what you want when eating a Pad Thai. Noodles were also pretty mushy. 5. Steamed Fillet Snapper - 4/5 - Fairly clean and nice tasting, but just a little too plain for my taste. Still, a great option if you want something lighter for your meal. 6. Rib Eye Pepper Steak Thai Style - 4/5 - I really liked the sauce for this one and the beef was cooked very well, but the garlic they chose to put on top was extremely bitter and ruined my thoughts on the dish. I love this place, but this experience was the first time I've ever questioned going back here again. I hope this time was just a fluke.

Small update on individual dishes during my last visit:…read more4.5/5 Pad Thai - A little dry this time around, could use more sauce but the taste was still overall good. Also wished that the peanuts were on the side rather than on the dish by default, so I'll keep that in mind. 5/5 Kao Pad - Spice level 1.5 seems wimpy, but it is perfect that way. SO extremely flavorful and the steak is so nicely cooked. Also love the tomatoes. 5/5 Ahi Tuna - I legit could go here and only get this. Everything about it is so perfect (other than the wasabi, because who invited wasabi to this perfect dish?) 4.5/5 Panang Curry - Very enjoyable, though I do wish there was more protein to the dish. 3/5 Asparagus and Crab - Kind of a disappointment. I don't think the two complement each other in any meaningful way. 3/5 Chilean Sea Bass - Chilean Sea Bass is so incredibly overrated. For the price and what we got, it simply left us wanting more of something else (I forgot what the dish is called... whoops, there is a picture) 4.5/5 Raad Prick - Plenty flavorful, though I do feel that there should be more to this dish like vegetables, but it does allow the fish to stand out.

Merlion was super busy yet the service was surprisingly attentive from the entire staff despite having to park several blocks over due to the crowd! I actually came back to update this review to give a shout out to our waiter Bryan. He's been our waiter the last 5 or so visits regardless of when we come or what part of the restaurant we sit in, and he somehow manages to elevate the already fantastic experience we have. He's insightful on the menu without being pushy, remembers our unique requests, checks in on us without being too much, and strikes a great balance on engagement without intruding. I haven't been writing as many reviews as of late but Bryan's service had me dusting off the old digital keyboard. All that to say thanks Merlion, I'd say never change but over the years every change yall have made has been for the better!

The experience was --- interesting. As is common with tasting menu restaurants, there was a story to go with each dish presented. Also as common with this sort of thing, some dishes were better than others, and many were just okay. At $150 per person, it was on the expensive side, and I question whether it was worth that. Perhaps $100 would have been appropriate. A wine/cocktail option was offered for something like an additional $125, but everyone declined. We were filled to excess by the food, and found it difficult to imagine having space for drinks on top of that. An interesting experience, but we are unlikely to return at this price point. I think that I have decided that tasting menus just aren't my cup of tea, and I really prefer to go to a place where I can select exactly what I want.

I recently stumbled upon a Facebook ad for their fantastic $3 Thai food event, and instantly thought, "Look, self! We ought to check it out!" So, this afternoon, I eagerly made my first visit to take advantage of such a sweet deal. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a canopy laden with various food items, all beckoning potential diners. The BBQ pork skewers immediately caught my eye, and the chicken meatball skewers and wings looked equally tempting. I ended up with about $24 worth of food, including the skewers, kung pao chicken, and both plain and fried rice, which I took inside to enjoy. Or so I thought. Honestly, my lunch was a bit hit-or-miss. I really enjoyed the BBQ pork, the kung pao chicken, and the pad thai, but both the plain and fried rice lacked significant flavor. The chicken meatball, unfortunately, was also a disappointment. Portion-wise, the food was definitely sizable, so much so that I ended up packing a lot into a to-go box. I quenched my thirst with a Thai iced tea, which was incredibly refreshing on a hot day like this. While I wouldn't say I got my money's worth, it was certainly worth a try given the special event.
