I was in Dickinson today and looked for a good local place to have lunch. We have no good Chinese food in Galveston, so I really wanted some. I chose well. The restaurant is clean and well organized. It's very simple, not much of ambiance. Tile floor, simple tables, good lighting. Maybe it's different at night. I ordered one of my favorite things that I can never seem to find: chinese style spare ribs. Those were excellent. I got an order of pork fried rice (fair) and an egg roll (also excellent). I really enjoyed the meal. It was just the right amount of food for me. I chose an iced tea to drink. The service was great and so was the price. Food and tax came to $18 something. I should have gotten something to go. I want more! read more

We went by or drove by. We really enjoy the food here as we have been eating at this since 2008 or before. We just have a feeling that they are way out. Closed sat. ,sun, mon. ?? No restaurant that wants to stay in business can be closed these three days in my book. My favorite place ever to get pho. I don't eat beef so I don't get the traditional beef broth. I love that they offer a vegan broth made of mushroom and it is so delicious and flavorful. They were closed for the holidays in December until the first week of January and I was finally able to go get some pho. I have eaten food from this restaurant several times in the past and it has always been very good. However, I ordered the cashew chicken today and it was flavorless. I tried adding salt, but that did not help. The only thing that tasted good were the snap peas that I asked to be added to my order. The wonton soup was good. Very disappointed! read more

One year later after I discovered this gem of a place and still is my favorite spot to get my comfort food. My favorites are the Chicken Pho- broth is super tasty! Vietnamese egg rolls- sooo good! Vietnamese rice plates- pork, chicken, beef, you name it I love all 3! pork dumplings-gotta have them pan fried! Don't forget your iced Vietnamese coffee! Super strong and super good! This place was really good. They did get my order wrong but I was so hungry I ate what they gave me. I would have loved to try what I actually ordered so I will go back and try again. The cashier was so kind and friendly and that beats anything. The food was hot and fresh but again I got something I didn't order. This was our first time eating these sesame balls. These are so tasty like beignets or little fresh doughnuts. They have a slightly sweet red bean paste in the center like Japanese mochi. We also tried the pan-fried noodles which have an AMAZING texture. Similar to a freshly prepared pot pie with warm mushroom sauce and veggies. In my initial review, I mused how the Vietnamese dishes here should be given a try. It turns out my nearly one-year long wait to come back here -- Harvey happened -- was worth it. The restaurant was unfortunately inundated by floodwaters of the aforementioned Harvey, but is back better than ever. It's brighter and more spacious inside. There's benches with pillows against the wall, which I thought was pretty clever. So the food. When it comes to baseline Vietnamese, I usually go for a grilled pork rice plate. The rice was nicely cooked, the meat was amazingly tender and marinated, and the diced up egg rolls provided a good reason to use chopsticks. The steamed pork dumplings, which I believe are new to their post-storm menu, were a great way to start a meal. Ergo, dinner here was fantastic! I'm sure glad Sesame House is back in business. And it's safe to say they stepped their culinary game up. read more

My family visited Sesame House at the suggestion of a friend. We had the veggie dumplings and crab cheese puffs to start. Didn't notice any crab only cream cheese in the puffs. Both were tasty. The chow fun noodles were good but plain (just noodles, chicken and bean sprouts), didn't realize that you had to pay extra for broccoli. The Vermicelli bowls were on par. Overall, not bad. Not sure we'd go back. Food was overpriced in relation to the portion. read more

We went for lunch based on the great reviews. I opted for a vermicelli bowl with pork, springrolls, all was really delicious and fresh. My brother opted for a beef Vietnamese entree. He said it was pretty good. I eyed what others were eating-mainly Chinese it seemed but all looked good and they all seemed happy. Service was fine, young ladies are friendly. Ambiance is ok, kind of a small tucked away place with the basics in decor. Definitely want to go back and try some other options. read more

Highly recommend! We were housesitting in the area and went in for takeaway. Annie waited on us and was very friendly and professional. We loved the food!! Had hubby pick up some to go food items for dinner since I had heard so many of our friends loving this place. It did not disappoint. I posted pics of all our to go items and they were all delicious. My favorite where the fried Vietnamese egg rolls and the general tsos chicken. Very fresh and piping hot. The only thing I think they could improve would be maybe some more sauce or a bit more flavor to the lomein. Just needs a little extra ooomph. Other than that, this place is solid and I would order from here again for sure and try out some other items. read more

We've been coming here for years. Food has always been good and service great. However, in past 2 years I've noticed a decline in the quantity of food given and prices going up. Now, they are charging extra for little things when they used to not charge. Went the other day for lunch and was very disappointed with the quantity. A small scoop of rice and small portion of the entree. I know times are hard but when I'm paying almost $35 for three lunch entrees I'd expect more food. read more

Sesame House is so consistently amazing that it's ruined all other Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants for me. If I didn't live all the way in Pearland, I'd shamelessly eat here multiple days in a row. I find myself going through withdrawals if I haven't visited for a long period of time. I've been here at least thirty times now and I've never had a bad meal or experience. The food is ALWAYS delicious and tastes like they use the freshest ingredients. I don't know how they've turned something as simple as sesame chicken into a culinary masterpiece, but they have. Always liked going there since the food was always fresh and delicious. Ordered General Tso Chicken on a Friday night. Chicken was not fresh but was tough and hard like it was cooked hours ago and then they put it in my meal. Used to be food was cooked with pride. Prices go up and quality have gone down. Your local and have been a Dickinson original staple good food restaurant. I will think twice before going there again. Very very disappointing. We LOVE everything on the menu. We followed Mrs. Winnie (the chef) from her work place to this place she opened with her family and have not been disappointed. We love and recommend the wonton soup, pork spring rolls, Vietnamese egg rolls, General Tso's chicken and special fried rice.
