So far I tried there fried chicken, and it was average. I ordered the fourth level of spiciness and it turns out it wasn't spicy at all. I wasn't sure if they served it to me in sauce or the oil. The overall plate was fulfilling; chicken with a side of salad and flavored rice. The chicken was crunchy, but again drenched in oil didn't make me enjoy it as much. As for the setting, it's big enough for a group of people (4-6). There's also an upstairs and a unique outside seating upstairs. I love Thai food, I try and get it whenever I can. With that said, Thai Spice is not that great. My friends from LA were in the area visiting me so I decided to take them to Thai Spice for some food, I should have taken them somewhere else. The food here is very mediocre and bland. If it wasn't for all the spice I had them put into my fried chicken with rice, it would have been bad. We also got egg rolls and they were okay, Ive had a lot better at other places. They were very hot when you bite into them, just a fair warning if you decide to get them. The best part was the Thai Ice tea. This is my go to Thai place in Irvine! I usually order the pad Thai, Panang chicken curry, or the beef noodle soup. I also recommend trying their egg rolls because they make it on the spot and it's always super hot when they give it to you! They recently just started a rewards program and I was surprised that one of workers recognized me and told me to join so I could get free food. Haven't been to the other locations in Irvine but this one seems to spam the local newspaper and UCI newspaper with advertisements the most. Dropped by this location merely as a quick to-go eat. Food is simple take out style thai food that gets the job done for what it is. I didn't come here expecting to be blown away by the food or atmosphere so it was okay at the time being, for those in a rush. But having eaten at any other Thai restaurant in the area or pretty much anywhere, you're better off visiting those on a normal basis. Save this on the list of quick eats when your desperate and short on time. Pad Thai was okay, bit daunting watching the oil slowly sink into the Styrofoam box they package it in for to go orders. Food was pretty good but customer service needs improving. Earlier today, I called to make an order and called right back after when I realized I didn't have cash so I cancelled my order right away and everything was fine. I then called again a few hours later to place the order again when I had the cash. Shortly after I picked up my food and paid, I received a call from Thai spice. The person on the phone was very rude and accused me of not paying because they said they had no record of it. I was confused because I had paid in cash and I said I threw the receipt away in the restaurant in the trash can if they wanted to check it. She then scoffed at me and was telling me to come in to pay, basically accusing me of stealing a $10 order. I hung up and then called back to try to figure out the situation, and the same lady goes "oh never mind, it was a mistake we saw that you cancelled the other order earlier today". Please get your facts straight before you proceed to call customers and accuse them of not paying. Thanks for ruining my mood, I can no longer eat my food in peace. read more

Out of the two Thai Spice locations I've been to, I've got to say this one is my favorite! Living somewhat down the street from Thai Spice, it was my go-to place for all my Thai food cravings. But, if you're looking for a classy Thai restaurant, Thai Spice isn't for you. My favorite dish is their chicken pad see ewe - always hot when I get my order and very flavorful. Their pad thai & pad kee mow was also very delicious - but I warn you the pad kee mow is very spicy. The dynamite wings are a definite must-try. If you've ever had Korean fried chicken, it's consistency in crispiness is similar, but the spicy honey sauce is what wins me over. Don't forget to also try their Thai iced tea! read more

My favorite Thai restaurant! Not just in Irvine, but also... anywhere. Too bad I'm far from it now :( I used to live 5 minutes away. Well, what I love about this place is their NOODLES! You take your typical Thai noodles like pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mow... and then pick your meat, and level of spice. OMG. The best part of Thai Spice is their ability to spice your food to an extreme level... but maintain the flavor of the food. Those three noodles are my absolute favorite. Go to one of the other Thai Spices (Irvine/Sand Canyon or El Toro), this one is unsanitary. They say its fresh, but it's not. I had the fried rice last night and it tasted like shit. Now I feel sick today and have gas from hell. This place is dirty. The tables have other diners' remnants on them and the workers look like they want to die. It's flavorful, it actually comes to you with the amount of heat you expect it to have, its CHEAP, its fast, you don't have to throw a few bucks towards tip, so what's the problem? I can't really think of one. Well, maybe. It might leave you feeling kind of greasy, and yeah they do only give you three shrimp every time you order the pad thai (but there's plenty of chicken), and they do sort of pile on the bean sprouts much, but it's good regardless, and Thai Spice is a tasty convenience I'd gladly eat :) Oh yeah, soda refills are extra so if you think you might end up sweating beads throughout your spicyspicy meal, go for the large drink... orrrrr, settle for the free water, but just remember that won't help with the heat ;) read more

This place is hit or miss, I honestly think the quality of food depends who's working that day. Sometimes it's pretty disappointing, like when I ordered Kee Mow Pak and found that more than half of the plate of was lettuce and sprouts than noodles itself, not to mention with only 3 tiny pieces of tofu -_-. Heads called for Thai Spice! It's a nice little restaurant with upstairs and downstairs seating. The service here is GREAT. The workers that work there were very nice to us. I was waiting for my wonton soup and the lady said "Honey, where are you going to sit?" me: "ummm, upstairs?" lady: "I'll bring it up to you" .. very nice!!! The food is decent priced. I ordered a wonton soup and the pad kee mow and it came out to 11 bucks.. but I had leftovers! The wonton soup broth is SOOO GOOD. Very very flavorful. I got the pad kee mow in a to-go box because 1. I believe they give you more food if you get it in a box rather then a plate and 2. because I knew I wasn't going to finish it so I'd be able to close up the box and go! I like pad kee mow because it's not sweet like pad thai is. It's just stirfry chowfun noodles (fat, flat noodles) satayed with beef (i chose beef but you can choose chicken or the other options they have) and vegetables. The people are always so nice to you, even if its busy and they look like chickens runnin around w their heads They Pad Thai is delicious. They've locked down their coupon use (bogof with drink purchase) and no longer allow using coupons on soups and appetizers (I think this varies from location to location). They claim that they lose a lot of money that way. Apparently, they changed their system to not allow for it as well. This was all very recent although they claim it has always been this way. So why were we able to use the coupon a few months ago without any problems if it has always been this way? And the coupons don't even state this limitation either. Do not come here for Thai food. First time here because it was near and I needed to kill time. I ordered pad see ew and it was horrible. The cook cannot cook if his life depended on it. Everything on my plate tasted burnt. I have no problem with other race working in a Thai restaurant or any other ethnicity restaurant but there was not one single Thai person working here or even any Asians. It's not the best thai food I've ever had, but its really good for the price n the convenience. It really is the fast food of thai restaurants. We ordered pad-see-ew and the chicken potato curry over rice. When you order they ask you how hot you want your food. They have no spice, mild, medium, spicy, n fire. We ordered the curry medium n it was just the right amount of heat. Spicy but not too spicy to eat. The chicken was very tender n the potatoes were done right. It reminded me of the curry my mom makes! I think the pad see ew with beef was also medium. Not as spicy as the curry. The noodles had a nice char to them, however I felt that the beef was a little tough. We also ordered thai iced tea with our meals. It was really good, not too sweet n not too much cream. It really isn't that bad, but it isn't amazing, either. Last time I went I had the chicken curry on noodles, my friend had the pad thai, and her boyfriend had yellow curry over rice. My curry on noodles were good, nothing to write home about. Pad thai? Small portion for what was paid. Yellow curry? Again, good, but nothing special. The place is pretty big. It has two levels and you can choose to eat in or take out. You order first then sit down. So there is no wait service. The menu you pretty big, they only have one type of curry though which I thought was weird. My friend told me to just pad thai of the pad sewe so I chose the pad sewe. I'm not a huge fan of pad thai. So I got the pad sewe with medium spice. It came out to be a little over 7 dollars for a huge togo box. It had broccoli, mushrooms and I chose chicken, you have the choice of beef or chicken. My friend told me to eat with hot sauce which was pretty good. I liked it. I also tried his pad thai which was pretty good. It changed my perspective on pad thai.
