Lots of times, they don't even pick up the phone or sometimes it's deserted out in front of the cashier...so I've learned not to have too much expectations...as long as they meet my food expectations. And they certainly meet those expectations. For a reasonable cost, their dishes come with at least 2 portions worth of food. Both their pad thai and pad see ew are pretty good, and both beef and tofu have been past ordered items that did not disappoint. You can also opt for a spicy option which is a nice change once in a while. Their thai tea is probably one of my favorites in the area, so be sure to try that too if you're tuning in. Um... yes. Like, really! Freaking Yelp does it again! I've been searching for great Thai in southish OC and finally got to try it today. First of all, it's located in a small strip mall food court on the inside corner. It was a little confusing since there are no real signs but I figured it out fairly easily. The menu is simple, prices are low and service was quick and very friendly. Chicken Pad Kee Mao: Hefty portions! Food was tasty and a plenty. Tom Yum Goong: i asked for it spicy and it was easily manageable. I could've used a little more kick but damn it was good. Easily the best Tom Yum soup in Irvine! Hiiiiiighly recommended! Unless of course if you're going for their Chinese fast food. PAD SEE EEW with fried tofu was served steaming hot in a styro container. Spice level is your call so I made mine medium and thankful that I did instead of going spicy. It had a very good kick, enough that I was still able to enjoy my meal. If you're looking for comfort food then you're in luck because this flat noodle dish had a delicious sweet soy seasoning and just the right presence of grease that tied everything together. Getting this with beef or chicken are your other options. With a serving that's generous as this, you could get away with sharing between two people with normal appetites. For those who know me, clearly, sharing one dish with a friend was not a good idea. BASIL CHICKEN with fried egg over rice was the 2nd dish we ordered. I'm always craving pad thai, but never knew of any good places in Irvine. For the last few years I resorted to buying boxed pad thai from Trader Joe's, but it definitely wasn't the same! She told me about this little place and knowing how good their pad thai is, the next time I didn't know what to eat for dinner, I headed over here. I missed it the first time I drove by because I was looking for a restaurant and didn't realize it was in the food court. For $7 you get a huge to-go box of chicken pad thai that is enough for two. The chicken and noodles are tender, and the crunchy peanuts on the side add a nice crunch. The blend of seasonings is also perfectly sweet, but spicy. I once made the mistake of ordering "medium" spice, but it was so spicy it was almost painful to eat. I would definitely recommend getting it "mild." I have and definitely will be back. I appreciate the big pieces of beef and veggies. Delicious! I usually only eat half an order even though I can easy finish the whole entire box. The sizes are huge and good enough for some people to share. I had other items but I always go back to beef pad see ewe. Also, get the spicy chilis with fish sauce as a condement. Go with spicy, but specify mild if you can't take the heat. I like this place so much I came on a weekend once. Given this is near a business area that is detication. I recommend picking up your dinner and lunch at the same time. I recommend this place not because it's the best Thai place, but because it just taste good. It not gonna win any authenticity awards.
