So my guest and I were in the mood for sushi, and we checked Yelp and decided on a place on Verdugo. We walked around for 10 minutes trying to find the sushi place! No luck. It wasn't anywhere! We thought it must have gone out of business and we finally gave up. My guest suggested, "Want to try this Thai place instead?" Of course! Because Curry all the things! LUCKILY FOR US....we came to Thai Peru! The ambience and decor of this restaurant is really neat! Very quiet. The servers and greeters wore (what I'm assuming is) authentic attire. It was cool! A very friendly employee showed us to our table and we were able to order promptly. This server was great! Polite. Personable. Friendly. Checked on us. Just awesome. My guest ordered Pad Thai with tofu and LOVED it. I ordered the mild Green Curry with streamed tofu and it was AMAZING! Thankfully, the rice is included, however brown rice incurs a charge. Bummer. ANYWAY THOUGH! My Green Curry was very tasty, however I requested it "mild" and I think they may have watered it down with too much milk. Or something. But that doesn't incur any strikes really. Tofu was outstanding, veggies were so good. Definitely coming again! For dessert we shared the Mango Sticky rice. How can I say, "EXCELLENT!!!!!!!" in any other way? Except go there. Try it. I recently posted a negative review stating I wouldn't return and like a toxic ex I decided to come back literally the next day lol and let me tell you I don't regret it one bit I was seated quickly and I got the special with curry and changed the white rice to fried rice it was absolutely amazing the coke tasted a little funny but other then that it was great meal. I will keep it the same please if you do come on a Friday or Saturday come before 9pm as the kitchen closes at 9 and not at 10 when the dining room closes so you can try the amazing food! Quality has been going downhill for awhile. Prices have gone up and portions have gone down. Lunch special Pad Thai used to be $6.95, then $8.95 and include the salad and the eggroll; now is $12.95 with either salad or eggroll. Their recent menu changes hide the upcharges so beware, your lunch special Pad Thai could be $19.95. Extra $3 for my wife selecting the vegetable option on the soup, which the server could not find anywhere on the menu. I had the "surprise" upcharge +$7 combo meat option. The 3 pieces of shrimp were good quality, but the chicken and beef were very tough and dry, clearly left over from a few days before. The beef had excessive garlic, likely from whatever dish it had originally been a few days before. Disappointing, they used to be much better. I see why there were only 2 other tables occupied during their lunch rush. read more

So far I had 2 diners to go ordered at this restaurant and I was very happy with their food and customer service. First time I had scallops with veggies ( they accommodate my request to make some substitutions ) some Peruvian cookies called milhojas and a maracuia juice( passion fruit juice. Everything was a delicious and their delivery guy was nothing but polite and friendly. Second order was a Pad Thai , an avocado green curry and more desserts,milhojas and alfajores. My all experiences with pad Thai weren't that happy because other places use fish sauce in everything and the result is very pungent and unpleasant for more of non-ethnic Thai people including me. They really nailed it on the pad thai, it was very delicious, I didn't have to add any condiment ,just perfection! The avocado green curry was pretty amazing itself but next time I'll let them know that I like it spicier because I could see myself in those hot pepper eating contests ! While I was waiting for my order to go I noticed the beautiful dining room with crystal chandeliers and Thai decorations. Came back again for dinner with a friend and a Groupon deal. In total, we ordered rotti with curry sauce, pad woon sen (glass noodles) with chicken, and arroz chafua with soft tofu - comes with basil spinach sauce. To begin, the rotti came out warm and not hot. The portion size is a lot smaller than I imagined. The yellow curry sauce is on the sweet side and tasty, but nothing praiseworthy. The pad woon sen is made with glass noodles and stir-fried with your choice of protein as well as mixed vegetables. The glass noodles are stuck in clumps and broken. There aren't many contiguous strands of the noodle in the dish. The vegetables used are pretty basic ones like carrots and mushrooms. A lot of onions were used, which made the dish very sweet. Not wok'ed enough in my opinion and better preparation could have been done to make sure the noodles aren't broken into clumps together or not as moist. The chicken was chicken breast and definitely on the dry side. Lastly, the arroz chafua - one of the menu items that says it is Peruvian styled. Been wanting to try a Peruvian dish from here and while I cannot attest to the validity of a Peruvian dish, I didn't think the dish was spectacular. The two things I liked about the dish was the spinach basil sauce and the soft tofu. The sauce was pleasantly appetizing and the soft tofu was nice to dip in it. The rice itself was overly salty and it doesn't taste any different than regular Chinese fried rice. The rice didn't taste like it was wok'ed enough, but enough oil was used to make sure the rice doesn't clump together. As a whole, not worth a try. As a whole, I don't think the food is worth it for the price-point. Even with the Groupon deal, I don't think I'll return on my own choice to give them another try. If it's convenient or my co-workers really want it, I'll give it another try, but with low expectations. Side-notes: Ambiance is up to one's perspective. While some say it's romantic or authentic Thai decorations. I thought it was pretty, but also distracting as the "candles" light bulbs are not a soft glow. In addition, the music in the background is hooked via a phone. During the meal, we heard an alarm clock ringtone through the music, which was funny. Lastly, we sat next to the kitchen and at the end of the meal, we smelled burning rubber coming from the kitchen, which was alarming to smell. read more

This place has improved so much in the past year or so. The food before was decent, but the quality and taste now is amazing, I love their yellow curry. They also have a sushi chef now with its own separate menu, creative to say the least. The best thing about the Fourth of July this year was our incredible meal from Thai Peru! We have lived in our area for 8 years and we are delighted to tell you that this restaurant has the best Thai food around, and we have lived and eaten in many places in So Cal! Both times I've called to make a reservation w/ no problem, & coulda prolly just walked in. They have a lot of booths & tables. Its a nice looking restaurant. Food: Must try the Saltado! I've had the chicken saltado. Its amaazing. Chicken w/ sautéed onions & tomato & french fries, yes french fries, all in a succulent sauce & served on the side of white rice. A must try is #153 a Peruvian Dish thats bomb! Spaghetti noodles in a spinach basil sauce topped w/ breaded chicken breast. Sounds so simple, yet soo good. Just ate at this restaurant. Found a long black hair on my Garlic Filet Mignon. Totally disgusting, could not continue eating any of the meals on the table. I refuse to pay for the meal, they only comp the meal that had the dark long disgusting hair in it. Horrible service, they should have comp the entire ticket, we could not continue eating, and needless to say, we did not take any food home. Not recommended, not a clean place and cooks obviously with long hair do not wear a hair net in the kitchen. Wish I had an option to give them a rating of minus five. read more

I tried this restaurant years ago ordering something from the non-Thai selections and wasn't impressed. When I Thai folded, there was a huge gap left for good Thai food. We decided to try Thai - Peru again, and order from the Thai menu, and we are so glad that we did! We have tried the lunch special and dinner both. The food was so good, I can't believe I missed all these years. You can get your order with vegetarian and even vegan options - just let them know when you place the order that you have a special dietary request. We had the avocado curry which was creamy & a VERY generous portion size... & the drunken noodles- my husband scarfed it down!!! I'm not one to complain about this restaurant because when I would come here, the food is always pretty great. The service was not that on point, you don't get checked up on frequently enough. Besides the service that I get when I dine in, I decided to phone in my order because of the whole social distancing protocol. I ordered pineapple shrimp curry and other items, and the lady on the other line tried to repeat my order but instead said pineapple shrimp fried rice. I then corrected her and said that I wanted the shrimp curry. She then said okay and that my order would be ready in 20 minutes. It takes me about 20 minutes to get there from my house and I still had to wait about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I get my bill and it's about $50. I questioned the worker as to why it was so high, and she said it's because I ordered shrimp, that the item I ordered only comes with 2 pieces of shrimp so the price doubled. I got my food and went to my car and then realized that she ended up giving me the shrimp fried rice instead of the curry! I was outraged. I went back into the restaurant and had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to assist me. I then notified them of their mistake and she said that I ordered the shrimp fried rice after I had corrected her about it twice on the phone before hanging up. She was giving me such a hard time about getting my order right. She asked for my card to void the previous transaction and was going to charge me again for the right items. Didn't tell me how long it was going to take for my food to be ready. I waited another 20 minutes for me to get my card back and food to be ready. She came out with the curry and I was confused as to why she didn't bring rice out with it. I asked if it came with rice and she said no. I let her know that I always order this item and it always comes with rice. She then repeated again that it doesn't. Also - just checked to see if they had voided the previous transaction and they didn't! I got charged twice. I'm definitely not coming back here again. This napkin was in the plate buried under the salad and u can tell from how wet it looks and all the chili pepper on it which easily can tell that I didn't get it that wet just by wiping my mouth with it , it is soaked with the salad dressing so nice try you lier . Lastly it was my first and last time to your sick restaurant and for your bad luck somebody was joking with me and videotaping me and got it the whole thing on tape that I will use to file a compliant to the heath department cause u should be shut down people get food poisoning from places and practices like yours . And also I have the receipt for the plates that I paid for and guess what I will dispute those charges with my credit card u should get $0 for being dirty and a lier too . And now that I think about it this salad was a left over from somebody else and instead of throwing it away you put it in my plate with their dirty napkin so disgusting so great job who knows if u even wash any dishes having you food cross contaminated between people in the middle of pandemic I will mention all this to health dept on my complain I will take this as far as it goes . read more

I have eaten here around four times since they moved to Camarillo. I don't know if it's appropriate to rate a restaurant when you've always ordered the same thing, but I must. Every time I've ordered food form this place, I've ordered off the Peruvian menu and have gotten the Tallaran Verde. It is a thin cut of chicken breast breaded and fried perfectly, served over the most delicious spinach spaghetti; I've never had anything like it. But the piece de resistance is the sauce. Omg amazing does not begin to describe it. Now I'm not one with a dainty appetite, but I'd say one order is definitely enough for two (although I certainly wouldn't judge anyone for finishing it all). I love Thai food, and definitely plan on hitting up that Thai side of the menu. My coworkers have ordered their Thai, and I've heard only good things. Look forward to trying myself, but omg that Tallaran Verde, OMG! Been there recently but for pickup only although apparently dine-in has recently opened. Seems very safe. They have a miatre d' podium at the entrance so I was able to stay outside while paying for and receiving my food. Staff was masked; saw one couple inside eating but don't know details of capacity or distancing practices. From what I was able to see from the doorway, decor was pretty on point. Sure we'll all be glad when this is all over and we can enjoy an awesome dining experience. But to all: patience, stay safe and pls support our amazing local restaurants so they'll be there for us today and tomorrow! read more

After seen a lot of 5-star reviews that I feel confused leaving this review. I order for delivery, everything was fast and on time. PERFECT. I ordered Pad See Yew and yellow curry. I was super excited, because I just moved to the neighborhood and I don't know many restaurants. The noodles were saggy and the vegetables look dehydrated. I had to remake and add some flavor to these noodles, because it was missing taste. There was no taste. When I tried the yellow curry, I love curry, and this one was alright. It had this intergalactic yellow color. I came here in Yelp and I see all these positive reviews. Everyone talking about the Peruvian food. I'm Peruvian myself. I take pride on our authentic and delicious cuisine, but the menu for the "Peruvian side" (as many call it here) is basic. I will try and update this review, hopefully it is much better. read more

Consistently inconsistent. We order from this place a lot. It's less than 2 miles from our house so we probably order from here on average 2x a month. I always get the Pad Kee Mao. There's a range of spiciness that I'm ok with but you never really know what you're gunna get. Today, I thought my mouth was on fire though. It was so hot I couldn't eat it. I had my husband try it to double check I wasn't being sensitive. He spit it out. My lips are numb and tingling as I type this. Last time we ordered they forgot our egg rolls. This time they forgot our rice and the lettuce that's supposed to go with my meal. The prices have obviously gone up but dang $18 a meal and they forget some items and what they do send I can't even eat. read more

Best Thai food in all of Ventura County. Not only is the food amazing, the staff is the most kindest and helpful. Must try their calamari, and their spicy fried rice with filet mignon! I grew up eating Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai last time but notice it was a sweeter flavor than expected. Today I ordered wonton soup and fried rice. The wonton soup is tasty with lots of veggies but I notice there is a metal part in it, which is big enough not to notice. Initially we were trying to go eat next-door but they were closed so we gave this place a try because we were starving and it was late. We were surprised at the menu because they had an interesting combination of Thai and Peruvian food on the menu but then we saw some Italian dishes also on the menu, which made me hesitant about the food. Usually if there's too many types of cuisines- none of them ends up tasting like how it should taste. I liked 2 out of 5 dishes we ordered and they were just the appetizers, which were the seafood papaya salad (Thai spicy), and the Thai wings. They really made the papaya salad Thai spicy which was awesome and they actually used Thai peppers make it spicy versus chili flake powder. The shrimp they used were really big, although the squid was slightly fishy. The Thai wings were super crispy and delicious. I actually burnt my mouth because I tried to get the whole thing in one bite. As far as the two noodle dishes we ordered which were the pad Thai and the pad Kee Mao, the pad Thai is better than most places I've tried around the 805 area but it will never be better than LA. The pad kee mao on the other hand was not pad Kee Mao, all I could taste were red pepper chili flakes and who puts celery in pad kee mao??? And where was the basil that was supposed to be in there? This dish could've been better had they replaced the celery with the basil and added more flavors than red chili pepper flakes. The bisteck a la chorrillano was not Peruvian. It tasted like curry and I know my Peruvian because I order this all the time at Mamita's in Glendale. The green sauce, Aji, was nowhere near how it should have tasted, literally I typically ask for more or finish the whole bottle that they give us at Mamitas because it is usually spicier than here. Honestly if I come back I would stick with the papaya salad and the Thai wings and maaaybe the pad Thai. But I have to say the proportions they give is a lot. I had a Groupon for this restaurant. Groupon is a good way to try out a new place. However, the two take-out dishes we ordered were horrible. The yellow curry was sooooo sweet. It tasted like the cook dumped a cup of sugar in it. The panang was super salty. I can eat food that's on the salty side but this was disgustingly salty. We ended up throwing both away. This was the worst experience we've had trying a new restaurant using Groupon. There are other Thai restaurants in the area. We won't be back. read more
