This is an update to my review on 4/20: Nothing wrong with the food but I just saw my credit card statement and discovered that the restaurant had overcharged my card. As the extra amount is less than $5 it's not worth my time to demand a refund. However this finding puts the restaurant in a dishonest light and leaves a bad taste for an otherwise positive visit. Not sure if it's their regular practice to increase profit as most people probably won't notice a slightly higher charge than what they authorized. If you pay with a credit card especially after adding a tip you might want to check the final charge as the overcharge may not be an isolated incident or mistake. Before COVID, this restaurant was good. I don't know it it has changed management, but it is no longer one of my "go to" restaurants. Both the food and the service are average at best. I think Paragon Thai in Cleveland Park is much better. read more

Great restaurant. Small and cozy. Perfect for lunch and dinner. Lunch portions are (of course) smaller but you can try different variations of food they make. Ask them for passion tea, it is delicious. we usually order 4 brothers noodles and pad see ew (I attached pictures). 4 brothers noodles: - delicious broth - fish balls - a lot of meat - enough noodles Pad see ew: - delicious rice noodles - a lot of meat - not enough greens (for me) I love the fact that they have duck as a special meal (I guess). We ordered the Kra pow chicken and green curry. They were both well seasoned, with great texture. The Kra prow chicken is minced chicken in a spicy soy sauce with vegetables. I loved the basil leaves in the dish as well. The green curry was a little on the sweet side with the creamy coconut base. It had a little bit too much bamboo shoots for my liking but the flavor was great. The ambience is very cute and romantic! Dim lighting and farmhouse style tables make it an excellent date night spot. read more

I've been ordering take out for a while, but just dined in for the first time and it's even better! I've gotten drunken noodles many times which are perfectly made and are not just hot- they are spicy, flavorful and hot! Love it! I've also gotten pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice and the vegetarian version does not disappoint. Same with the sticky rice. When in person the presentation is excellent and super fresh with great service. Highly recommend. read more

I am hesitant to try Thai restaurants because it will fall short of my expectations, however, I thoroughly enjoyed my Moo Toon noodles and the papaya salad. The staff were friendly and nice (and spoke Thai!), had a great atmosphere for dining, and food was overall great. read more

I have had this spot a couple of times now. The first pad Thai I had was nothing memorable because I don't remember it. The second time I had it, last week, I specified that I wanted the tofu in my pad Thai to be EXTRA CRISPY. Well, it was soggy. That made the meal rather unpleasant because I am not a fan of soggy fried tofu at all. It would be one thing if that was the style of the tofu, but because I asked for it to be extra crispy and they did not make it so, it was a frustrating experience. Luckily, I got a veggie roll, which truly save the meal. It was phenomenal. The sauces were great too. But unless they can follow the requests of their customers, I am not sure that I would order their pad Thai again. read more

Visited this place during the lunch hour amidst the rush. The server was very attentive and ensured that I was seated immediately. They have lunch specials so be sure to check them out ($10 specials in DC is a pretty good deal). I had the ginger tofu - this is a very spicy food served with salad. Very tasty overall! The food is okay. We ordered the Pad Thai. Nothing special just average. I would have rated higher but the customer service is so unprofessional. The lady who took our order was very rude and yelling on the phone. And how unprofessional is it to ask "do you want to leave tip now or cash?" And then to write on your receipt "GET TIP - TIP CASH" ummm no. That's rude. I'm pretty disappointed in this place due to that. I tried the spicy drunken noodles and they were so fabulously spicy! Really good. Came back to try then again a little less spicy (not everyone in my house was as thrilled with the level of fire) and also the pad Thai. I placed an order thru yelp, and walked to the restaurant faster than expected, they had literally just started cooking my food. That's so great! They close after lunch service so there was a possibility that it would be made early and just be sitting there-but totally prepared fresh just for me! Everyone here is always very friendly. As someone who is Thai I will tell you this food is authentic and is the best Thai food I've had in the area in a while. My husband ordered the pad kra prow which is his favorite thai dish and he said it was the best version of this dish he's had. It comes with a fried egg on top which is very authentic. At most thai places you have to ask for it but here it's included. I ordered the sukhothai noodle soup which really hit the spot. I haven't had a version of this dish this good since I was a kid. The drunken noodles were very good. But the Siam Beef was disappointing. Meat was dry and chewy and dish needed sauce.

TLDR: they provided spoiled food and as a result gave my mother severe food poisoning or salmonella. In town visiting for a little pre Christmas family vacation. Looked up close places for dinner. With varying different dietary restrictions we settled as Thai being the best choice for everyone and came here. We get there at about 830 to dine in and were informed that they closed at 9 even though Yelp says 10. The lady was nice and offered to seat us anyway but we politely declined and did take out instead. We each ordered something different. 3 out of the 4 meals were just ok. Sadly the 4th was far worse. The curry that my mom ordered was super pungent- the moment she opened it you were hit with an intense smell that we determined was fish sauce. Flash forward a few hours and my mom is violently ill - she was firing from both ends. It seems like they added a lot of whatever we were smelling in an attempt to cover up the fact that the curry had turned. At this point it seems like salmonella. Eat at your own risk. read more

Will keep this simple- Small place with maybe 10 tables and several seats at the bar. The people were very nice although they're just mostly teens who are always sitting there on their phones unless you call them over. I ordered the Tom kha soup and beef pad thai. Tom kha tasted bland with very little coconut. They added ginger which was weird. Pad thai contained too much tamarind sauce and because of that the dish was kind of soggy. I asked for it spicy but it was sweet. Ended up dumping lots of pepper into it. Not bad, not great. Probably won't return. read more

This is one of my go to lunch spots. The fried rice, pad kra prow with minced chicken and the drunken noddle are all great. They are quick and the service is typically great. The only issues Ive had is that when I ordered extra shrimp with my drunken noddles with chicken to go, I only got two shrimp but it costs me an extra $3. this is a small place near the van ness metro stop. very good authentic thai food. absolutely fresh vegetables and ingredients. fairly priced. fast service. you cannot get good cheap food in dc due to the rents and taxes. dinner runs about $20 and lunch about $13. i did not get that strong thai flavor (not the hot part, but depth) though. thais don't thicken their sauce like the chinese do so it falls to the bottom. i went back for a second time in 24 hours. it was that good. read more

I'm a fan!! Being the spontaneous person that I am, stopped by on a whim. Food was great and the service excellent. I had Garlic Chicken with Jasmine rice. So delicious! I'm not a leftovers person, and was pleased to find the portion size just right ( not too little or too much). Very filling. The meal came with a side of steamed broccoli. I love garlic but didn't find the dish to be overpowering with it. Do check this place out when in Van Ness.
