    Signature Rice Noodle
    Dahabina O.

I took my aunt here for lunch and I had the signature rice noodles with chicken and she had the fried rice with shrimp. My dish was delicious and I really enjoyed it. It's close to my home and I will be back again in the future!

My daughter has recently moved to the D.C. area and is determined to try as many different types of cuisines from the many cultures that call this area home. I was more than pleased to try Uyghur cuisine recently. Parking was found around the corner on the street. There is an upstairs and downstairs with cozy areas to sit and dine. Large glass windows in front offer a nice view of the activities of this eclectic neighborhood. Our first foray into Uyghur cuisine was a delight and introduced a delightfull mix of different flavors of well prepared foods. We started with a large French press style carafe filled with one of the most delicious teas I have had in a while. They have their own blend of Dolan Gul Chai which is a floral tea. It was so enjoyed by both of us that we both purchased the 100g canister of this tea to bring home. For appetizers we tried both the Samsa which had minced beef, lamb and onion and the Kawa .Samsa that was filled with butternut squash onions and peppers. They were delicious but sadly served as just piece. We also tried the Arlash Korma, Goshnan and saved room for a dessert of Uyghur. I would definitely like to come back and try more of their traditional styles of food. My only disappointment was that the service was quite slow. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and a pre-holiday weekend. When we did see our server she was helpful and multitasked the dining areas.

Things didn't go perfect on my first visit but the staff was very apologetic and also provided a free dessert to make up for the trouble. I ordered a noodle dish MILD and it came out quite hot. I should have sent it back but by the time they came to check on us I had already eaten quite a bit and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. My friend's kid had gotten the same dish and they did remake hers and we all tasted and agreed the mild version was delicious. The pumpkin pastry was absolutely delicious and I hope I can try the noodle dish again actually mild. I liked how the tofu was prepared for the dish and the noodles have the best texture. The free dessert was a chocolate cake. It was not very sweet and had a sort of cream cheese icing. It wasn't an American style chocolate cake for sure but it was really good!!!!!

Great place to try some cool Uyghur food!! There's a cozy cafe inside and outdoor seating available. I came on a Friday around 12 pm and were seated immediately with no wait. Korma Chop (5/5): I got the classic korma chop based on the reviews (most people seem to order this). It is a super rich noodle stirfry tossed with some veggies and your choice of meat (I chose beef). The noodles were thick and hand-pulled, perfect texture. I also loved the flavors, Spicy but not too overpowering. Not too salty nor oily, perfect amount of sauce and seasoning. Sesame seeds on top. It was also a good portion size. I would get it again! Chuchurra (4/5): I was not that big of a fan of this soup because personally, I'm not a huge fan of lamb or gamey meats. But I can see how others would enjoy this. Flavorful and hearty lamb broth with mini lamb/beef wontons and little bits of cilantro. A bit on the saltier side. I heard they're opening a location in Rockville which will be closer to me! Excited to go try more Uyghur food :)

I've been here several times and always leave happy. Such an interesting blend of flavors from Central Asia and China. If you are looking for something different, you must check this place out... oh and the honey cake.

Visiting Washington D.C. and wanted to try some food that we can't get in St. LOUIS. I don't even think a lot of people know what Uyghur food is, so it was pretty cool that I was able to try it for the first time. I ordered the Korma Chop and my friend ordered a soup dish! (Ooops sorry! I forgot the name of it). Both dishes were delicious. However, the Dolan cake was a bit underwhelming. It reminded me of those pastries you get at a Chinese buffet. I didnt find it to be anything special. It was a but warm in the restaurant and a bit chilly outside, but we decided to sit in. Gender neutral bathroom Friendly service Definitely worth checking out!

Very unique, delicious food with many healthy and vegetarian options, and a nice cultural vibe! This place would be great for vegans, vegetarians, and folks who eat meat. The food has similar flavors to Thai and Chinese, and is less oily than typical restaurant food. I'll definitely come back with family!

What a wonderful spot. Already planning to bring my mom here when she's in town next month! I've never had Uyghur cuisine. Everything I tried was wonderful -- from the fried green beans and the lamb Kazan to the Dolan Laghman and milk tea. The portions are healthy (I took 80% home!). Space is fairly casual with basic tables and place settings. Service was good - though you can tell they got busy towards the end. Excited to return!

Casual spot right by the Cleveland Park Metro

Dolan serves typical Uyghur and Central Asian food. It is a casual and cozy two level spot. Service is friendly but slow and haphazard, so genuine if you are accustomed to dining in Tajikistan. The highpoints were the Uyghur salad and the Uyghur tea. The salad looks very simple and uninteresting, but looks are deceiving: it is composed of veggies and dried goat cheese with a complex range of flavors...I could have eaten more. The samsa was also a tasty bundle of chopped meat, lightly seasoned and enveloped in a nice pastry. Sadlybthe layman was a big disappointment: the homemade hand-pulled noodles were ok, but the sauce strange and astringent while simultaneously sickly sweet. A day later I am grossed out. The kebabs looked OK, but unfortunately we did not order them.

Amazing place! There was an issue with uber delivery coming to pick up order and the employee I spoke to was so friendly and helped me resolve the issues. He even threw in a free piece of cake. Excellent noodles, cucumber salad, and cake! I asked for extra spicy and the spice level was actually on point. I'm excited to take my fiancé here and actually dine in.

Quick service, delicious food, great location (next to the metro) , gorgeous and classy spot, what is more to like?!? We stopped in post-Zoo with a hungry fam and got a few dishes to share. The service was polite and prompt and we ordered some amazing dishes. What really elevates this spot, beyond all the options, is the vibe. Classy but casual, gorgeous and cozy, this spot has it! Even with our kiddo, we were all able to find something to eat and we couldn't say no to the desserts, which were absolutely superb! If you're looking for something filling, flavorful, fun, and casual, MUST STOP!

This was my first visit to a Uyghur restaurant, though not my first time having Uyghur food. We arrived around 5 and got a seat without a reservation. We ordered the cold skin noodles based off reading other reviews and they were fantastic--probably our favorite part of the meal with their tangy sauce and perfect level of spice. My tofu dish was very tasty and spicy--nothing like Mapo tofu which I always find to be lacking in flavor. My brother loved his Dolan noodles, though he would have like even more sauce to scoop them up with. The crowning moment of the night was after I mentioned that I was paying the full bill (rather than a split check) because it was my brother's birthday. A couple of minutes later, they came out with cake and a candle--a complete surprise! Not only were we delighted by their thoughtfulness, that cake was ridiculously good. Top three chocolate cake that I've had in my life. Dense, moist, and lightly sweet. So impressed with their hospitality, ambiance, and food. I'll be back!

    Do they serve alcohol?

    No.

    Is the food halal?

Yes it is! And it's really good too :)

Is it stroller accessible? Does it have a diaper changing station in the bathroom?

Fried eggplant ,fried green bean and spicy sour tofu on the menu ,also mashroom pok Choi ...

Do they have any vegan options? I didn't see any labeling for this on the menu but was curious.

They had a whole page of vegetarian options, the majority of which appeared to also be vegan (but I did not confirm). In particular, their fried green beans and potato silk were delicious!

I had their Falafel Bowl, considered a vegetarian option, which came with basmati rice topped with a Mediterranean salad, 5 pieces of falafel, and seasoned onions, with a cup of tzatziki sauce. The Mediterranean salad consisted of diced tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, and mint leaves tossed in a lemon juice and oil oil dressing; this was fresh. The rice was cooked well, but it was just way too much of it in the bowl. The falafel were crispy and not dried out, which I appreciated. The onions were okay, and not necessarily needed in the dish. I wasn't a fan of the tzatziki sauce, as it was a little thin and watered down, and a bit too herb-forward in taste. My counterparts wasn't a fan of their chicken wrap, as it didn't contain much chicken, and they weren't fans of the sauce, either. They ended up taking out the chicken and making their own sandwich out of it and tossing the rest. I'm glad I was able to give this place a try, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. +look for the food truck on the PL level at BMP +avoid the tzatziki sauce

It's one of those places where it just feels good to be out for the evening. As to the food: the vegetable dishes are outstanding. I am not big on dips, usually, but I was won over by the mutabal, made with squash tahini, mushrooms, and shallots. It is served with a delicious sesame crusted bread, that could be addictive if you are not careful. The star of the evening was the crispy brussels, with black garlic caesar and hot honey. My word! This was like no other brussels I've ever tasted. Even the steamed spinach, tucked away on the menu in the "sides" section, was really tasty. The proteins, by contrast, were disappointing. The calamari was ok but nothing special. It came breaded rather than lightly battered - not my preference. The torsh shish - tenderloin shishkebab - was under-seasoned and a bit fatty. I was surprised it didn't have more of a grilled, smoky flavor. But the real disappointment was what was supposed to be the star of the show: the short rib tagine, with apricot, bulgur wheat, and labne. With that description, I was expecting the meat to arrive on a bed of the other delicious ingredients, but instead we got a brick-shaped piece of meat with a dab of something else. It was tender enough, and tasted ok, but really...just ok. For the price I was expecting something a little more special. The desert aficionados among us had praise for the chocolate pot, but the Persian Love Cake did not get a lot of love. For the drinks: for a Turkish/Greek restaurant I was surprised that wines from those countries were not available by the glass. Alas, there was no Greek wine to be had, and the Turkish wine could be had only if you were prepared to cough up $90 for a bottle. As I was the only wine drinker in the group, that was not going to happen. Next time I might go for a mocktail. The fermented carrot juice was funky and mystical and perhaps the best thing we had all night, beating out even those brussels sprouts.
