    Crunchy salmon roll
    Denise Z.

Great friendly service! I noticed a lot of the customers are locals. I've driven past this place countless times and my kids always said how great it is so I had to give it a try. We started with the crunchy salmon roll, it was ok. The miso ramen was great, didn't taste salty and artificial. My husband and daughter loved the general tso"s and noodle dish. I would definitely go again!

I thought the food here was good. I liked the texture of the roti canai bread. It was crispy and moist. The curry laksa was good too but it was too spicy for me. The dipping sauce for the roti canai was also a bit spicy. The service was great though and they were accommodating of my dietary preferences.

This place has everything. The service is fast, attentive, and honestly the level of service I expect at a 3-star Michelin restaurant. Your water will never be empty, plates are immediately cleared away, and you will always feel noticed. Lively and calm atmosphere too. The food here is amongst the world's best. I've been to Satay Street in Singapore, random night markets in Malaysia. The Satay here is comparable and even beats some of the stuff I've had over there. Get their #1, the curry laksa. Their prices are really cheap (especially for DC prices), and count your blessings if you're able to find street parking for. Come here for the best food in DC.

Incredible authentic Malaysian cuisine! The Khao Soi was amazing! I was able to get it with tofu (vegetarian) and I was so happy. This place doesn't get enough hype, this was by the far the best meal we had while in DC. 100% recommend!!

    Summer Rolls

The summer rolls were really good & fresh and the vegetarian steak was absolutely delicious. The pad see ew was just okay but it didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. Service was quick, and the staff was super kind and accommodating. The menu is also really expansive, so there's definitely something for everyone.

    Pad Thai

I was excited to get Malaysian food from here, but when I tried to order online for pickup, I noticed there weren't any options to adjust the spice level. I thus decided to get the pad thai as I was worried about getting a very spicy dish. I also noticed that I couldn't choose pork online, so I had to get the default chicken, even though there are other meats listed on the menu. The pad thai was a very ordinary dish, as to be expected. I liked how it came with both chicken and tofu. It was a large portion size, although I did finish it all. I found out later I was charged a $1 "support local" fee, which I did not notice when making the order. I'm sure their dine-in experience is different, but the online ordering system was not enjoyable to use, and I am confused what a "support local" fee is. Their food looks really good, and I would have liked to try a Malaysian dish if I could adjust the spice level.

First time here! We liked it, and recommend it. Food was delicious, fresh and seasoned just right! Service was prompted. No funny smells and attitude.

Really great food if you get the right dishes. Ask the servers what they recommend. The Nasi Lemak is incredible. Service is super quick and it's a chill ambiance. Super friendly. Mango sticky rice is to die for.

Nutritious and delicious: Seafood Cantonese Chow Fun

This is my 'go-to' if I miss South East Asian food. I like everything I have tried so far: satay, kampung fried rice, nasi lemak, wonton noodle, mee goreng ....and definitely the signature chicken rice (need to order in advance). If I have a special occasion to celebrate, this is where I want to bring my VIP! Amy, Tony, Jane, Jyostna, Edmund, the team are amazing folks! - thank you for the warm hospitality, it is more than value for money when I eat here! Can't wait to return!

    Curry Laksa

Don't let the appearance fool you - this place has the best roti canai in the city!!! My heart is full the laksa was also delicious! Order a side of the crushed peanut with the laksa - you will not regret it. The service is absolutely amazing - very homely and warm. Definitely will be coming back!!

Kampong Fried Rice-so delicious with sambal

I love everything I have tried here so far: satay (of course!), Nasi Lemak, chicken rice (3 times!), Kampung fried rice, Cantonese seafood Horfun. Within a period of 6-8 weeks, I have come here more times than going to the sandwich place where I live, in Fairfax. The food is authentic, so if like me, you are homesick and craved SE Asian food. The staff and owners are so friendly, and it is just a treat coming here. I recently had an event here, With more than 30 people, there is no fuss at all, Amy and her staff made things so easy for us and everyone had a great time! Thank you! This has become one of my favorite restaurants and certainly worth my journey here. Highly recommend!

Okay spot, definitely hole in the wall but not impressive to me. No frills but not my favorite flavors.

Located across the street from the Ballston Mall…read more We came late morning on a Sunday and the restaurant, both inside and outside, was pretty much empty of customers. I wasn't happy when the hostess tried that stupid restaurant trick where they try to seat you at the worst and smallest table (which did not have an umbrella) when most of the other tables are available. But I insisted on, and received, a better table. For a starter we ordered the Pok Pok wings, hoping that they were like the amazing and wonderful Pok Pok wings that were at the now long-gone Andy Ricker Pok Pok restaurants in Portland, OR. Hawker's Pok Pok chicken wings were not like the Portland Pok Pok wings but nonetheless, Hawker's Pok Pok (party) wings were excellent. We loved the flavors and the crispy battered texture. We also ordered the Crispy Wontons. These gingery babies were pleasantly plump. For an entrée, JP ordered the lamb udon and thought it was delicious. I ordered the chicken and shrimp Phad Thai. It also was tasty, perhaps a little on the spicy hot side. Lastly, I ordered a pork belly bun (the order comes with two steamed buns). These came with mustard greens. I thought the buns were just okay. The steamed buns should've been more fluffy and the five spice seasoning on the pork was pretty overwhelming. But yet, considering that service was decent and there's enough good stuff on the menu, we will be back.

Since Indonesian food isn't easy to find in the DMV, I'm really grateful to have Artha Rini so close to home. The restaurant itself is small, casual, and welcoming, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly. I ordered the Soto Ayam, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--warm, comforting, and flavorful without needing to add much of anything. My wife had the Pecel Lele, which was tasty, though the fish was just a little overcooked. My only other minor complaint is that I wish the portions were a bit larger. One thing to note is that the menu leans pretty heavily on coconut milk, which can be tricky for my wife because she has a sulfite allergy. What really impressed us, though, was Artha herself. She patiently answered all of our questions and even told us that if we call ahead, she'll source the one brand of coconut milk that doesn't contain sulfites so she can prepare dishes my wife can safely enjoy. That level of care and customer service is hard to find these days, and it's more than enough reason for us to keep coming back. We're excited to work our way through the rest of the menu.
