The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was full of flavor. The service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. I also tried the lychee tequila cocktail, and it was a 10/10. It was perfectly balanced and one of the best drinks I've had in a while. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing Thai food, great drinks, and outstanding service!

It presents well, but not a top recommendation :-( Upscale ambiance if you're looking for a memorable spot for date night or a nice occasion ... however, the food on our visit was average, especially when factoring in the premium price and dish sizes. We ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry and Fried Pork (over sauced). HITS: Restaurant ambiance, inviting bar area, fast food service. MISSES: Place settings, oddly, included fork and spoon, but no knife (making it tough to cut anything to eat) .. this was accentuated by the intermittent service after food was delivered to the table. Small plates also make it difficult to do "family style" sharing.

Me and a friend went here for a nightcap. I saw the restaurant on Resy and knew immediately I wanted to check it out. The bar and overall restaurant is gorgeous -a Social Media dream. The food was so well presented and it tasted fantastic to boot! We joined for their grand opening so they were rolling out the red carpet for their guests! They gave out a pretty good mocktail to everyone in the restaurant, what made the mocktail special was the piece of young coconut in the drink. They gave out free appetizers to everyone as well, which was pretty good. The owner, a sweet woman gave the appetizers out to everyone and the manager gave out the drinks. The bartenders were nice too! The only thing I would criticize is the delivery was really odd. Some mannerisms of the staff were kind of odd. Not that they're bad or anything, but they were just off. But, I mean just check-out our Thai Tea bingsoos, definitely worth getting! Will definitely come back to try some dishes. The prices for the area were also excellent, so wouldn't mind making this place a regular place.

I liked Dok Khao for what it is: a pretty place to eat decent Thai. The decor is indeed beautiful: High ceilings, lots of floral decor, a fountain in the middle, and green & gold tones reminiscent of a British afternoon tea parlor. Is it the best, most authentic and affordable? No. Service was a mix of attentive and not. We finished an early dinner in under an hour and one server did always ask how the food was once we were served, but there were several times we were looking to flag down our server and just could not get a hold of them. So for the food: - Healthy Appetizer - This was my least favorite dish because it was so loosely wrapped that everything fell out and apart as soon as you took a bite. I also didn't enjoy having minced chicken in the rolls versus bigger pieces of chicken. - Phuket Chili Crab - The pumpkin was nice and soft and I enjoyed the curry. The legs of the soft shell crab were nice and crispy but the body of the crab was very a bit mushy and on the verge of not being ok to be served (i.e. the super seafood taste) - Fried Banana & Coconut Milk Ice Cream - The fried banana was nice and hot and crispy, but it tasted more like vanilla ice cream and less like coconut milk ice cream; I could not taste any "coconut" in the ice cream Overall decent Thai eats for Chevy Chase *They do validate parking, thank you

New Dok Khao in Chevy Chase!!! I'm a huge fan of the Columbia location so I was super excited about this new location! The restaurant is beautiful--well lit with green walls and flower decors all around. The bar looks nice too! Food did not disappoint! The portions are generous, prices are reasonable and the food is WELL FLAVORED. The menu is quite extensive so you have many options to pick from! Started off with Steamed Dumplings and Tom Yum Soup. For entrees, HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Shrimp Pad Thai and Spicy Minced Chicken on Rice!! The Sesame Ginger Beef was good too--marinated tender flank steak but had a sweet kick to it. Cocktails here are AMAZING--pretty and picture worthy--I love their Lychee Martini. The others enjoyed their DK Old Fashion and Purple Rain too. One thing that needs improvement is their table seating timing--we had reservations and still had to wait about 20 mins to even be seated. The host (or manager, not sure) offered us a complimentary dessert, which was a nice gesture--we picked the Sweet Sticky Rice & Mango which was delicious! Overall, this place just opened so I'm sure they will adjust and do better--can't wait to come back!

I cannot say enough good things about this incredibly tasty spot!! The moment you walk in the door, it feels like a photographer's dream. I just wanted to take all the pictures I could! The bar is stunning to look at as well. We had a wonderful server who was very attentive. My friend and I ordered their non alcoholic drinks which were delicious! I had the Chaces Royal and my friend had the Garden Party. We started off with chicken satay which was very nice. Chicken had a nice flavor and was very light. Enjoyed the peanut sauce! I ordered the Kaprow with soft tofu, extra hot. And my friend ordered the drunken noodles with chicken very very mild. Each of our dishes were fabulous. I definitely want to come back and try more on the menu and to soak in the beautiful atmosphere again!

Got take out from here. Good portions. I thought the food was good but I will have to ask for it to be spicier next time. Pick up is kinda difficult on the one way in front of their restaurant.

Love this new Thai restaurant up on Connecticut in the Ritz Carlton development. It's a big and bustling place, filled with bright colors, gold, and a gorgeous bar. It's also filled with diners and jam packed. We had the larb gai, spicy and beautiful, dumplings, tom yum soup with chicken, pad see ew with chicken, green curry, flank steak salad, and chicken kapow. Everything was great, though the soup seemed a bit duller than all the other dishes. Cocktails were gorgeous and delicious. Next time we'll eat at the bar.

Beautiful space. I got the Panang curry which had wonderful flavor, but I do wish they gave more ingredients than just three pieces of broccoli and chicken. The rice amount was small as well.

2026: Outstanding service and proactiveness of staff! Impeccable menu and taste. Eye pleasing interior design. Ample spacing between tables. High chair and koala kare seen. This a restaurant we expect of becoming a patron when we comeback to the area. See images for reference.

I came here with my family for Christmas. We had such a great time that we've decided to come here every year! The service was fantastic. Every appetizer and entree was delicious. The mocktail I had was amazing as well. The portions are generous as well. The surrounding area is very nice as well. Can't wait to come back.

We came here last minute around 8pm day after Xmas, too lazy to cook but hungry, and they were one of the few places open. Based on the location you know it's gonna be a bit pricier but the inside was so beautifully decorated for the holidays and the restaurant is clean and lively. There were several other tables dining there. We ordered their special pad Thai and the fried chicken (can't remember the names!) but not was deep with flavor and very nice. The chicken was mild-medium spicy per the staff and it has a very nice kick, balanced out by the rice and veggies. They have a very big dessert and drinks menu and while we didn't end up getting any this time, we'll certainly be back for them!

You can adjust the heat (we chose medium) and the portions are generous. Keep in mind that Thai food can be extremely spicy, so choose wisely :D I can't get over how exceptional everything tasted. I remember it being good but not like this. The chicken tasted CLEAN (this requires a full-blown conversation to explain) and had the perfect bite. If you're ordering takeout then make sure to mix the noodles before eating. The samosas were PERFECT. Is it pricier than other places? Yes. Does the taste match the price? Also yes. Keep in mind that sometimes it's because of the ingredient quality and where it comes from. Some are simply more expensive than others. My attitude towards Thai food is a bit of a love/hate situation, but Amina just might put me back on the love wagon. Some places have this overwhelming fishy taste in everything, which I truly hate. From the depths of my soul. Oh yes, and it's also Halal. Bonus :D Order some takeout or dine in, whatever tickles your fancy, and enjoy!

Their staple dishes such as Drunken Noodles, Thai Fried Rice, Kaprow Fried Rice, Pad Broccoli and such are pretty much consistent with the way in which others of similar caliber produce it in the DMV. The food here is always fresh and delicious. I am satisfied with the quantity of food you get for the price you pay. I recommend exercising caution when experimenting with their menu items that specifically indicate SPICY because in my experience spicy here means loaded which chili pepper and almost to the point where you might miss the overall flavor of the dish due to the heat being so much in the foreground. Storefront street parking is terrible so you'll need to take advantage of nearby parking garages if you are not walking. Overall a good experience. I'll continue to patronize this place. It's the kind of place where you find yourself taking slower bites just to savor everything. And I have to mention the lychee martini--easily one of the best I've had. This is "call the fire department, but also keep eating because it's amazing." The roti canai is flaky, buttery, and comes with a dipping sauce that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about bread. I'm not a tofu person, but this dish could change that! DH ordered hot and sour soup and drunken noodles. Not a fan of hot and sour soup but I liked this one! So did DH. He loved his drunken noodles with pork. It had a hint of curry and was a little spicy. He ordered a sweet tea and said it was really, really sweet. Diner #2 ordered miso soup and teriyaki chicken. She loved the soup and I got to taste her chicken. It came kind of fajita style on a sizzling platter with red and green peppers, broccoli and a little bit of onion with a generous portion of chicken breast sliced on top with a good sauce and sesame seeds. It was accompanied by white rice. Large enough portion that she has lunch for tomorrow! Diner #3 ordered an eel roll and a few pieces of fat salmon sashimi. She said it was all good. I ordered pad Thai with shrimp. Several large shrimp were delicious and the noodles were very good. I ordered it as mild as possible and there was not a hint of 'hot' spice although it was physically really hot, which I love. I think next time I'd ask for a little heat in it. As I'm writing this I realize I could have asked for some chili oil or something to spice it but I enjoyed it very much. The server was terrific and a few people made sure our drinks were refilled. All the food is top notch, but maybe my favorite thing about this place is the food selection. I'm a chicken guy and they have a couple options that not all Chinese restaurants do that I absolutely love. First, you can get the General Tsos with white meat. Their General Tsos is very good anyway and with the white meat, it's outstanding. Second, they have chicken dumplings which you can get steamed which is another favorite of mine. I admittedly haven't tried those yet, but I will next time. But regardless of what your favorites are, they have an excellent selection. I have only one complaint about Bite of Asia. In a trend that seems to be happening more and more at Chinese restaurants around here, they do not have house made hot mustard (only the packets). I literally go to certain restaurants just because they have house made hot mustard and I love it.
