Wandered in here not knowing what to expect. Was a bit surprised that the menu had Japanese, Thai, and Chinese items. My experience has not been good with blended Asian cuisines. I have to say that I was surprised, the different dishes were decent! I started with the Miso soup, it was okay, but did have a generous amount of seaweed. Next I had a California Roll as an appetizer. I appreciated that the roll was more fillings than rice. Again, a decent dish. Lastly I had the Panang Curry with Chicken. This was the highlight. It was flavorful and a generous portion of Chicken and Veggies. Also I was happy they had the option of brown rice. Overall, the service was good, and the food would bring me back again.

It is nice that the Four Corners community has a restaurant that explores multiple Asian cuisines. So I appreciate that I could pick between Japanese, Chinese, and Thai options. However, I do wish that Red Maple would narrow their vast menu to perfect a smaller menu of excellent dishes. I was disappointed by the two dishes that I received. I went with two sushi rolls which *should have been an easy home run. Spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. Both lacked flavor, tasted of panko filler; and the soy was awful. Next I had their "Thai" basil which was some form of a bell pepper and mushroom stir fry with chicken strips. Pad Krapow Gai should be a ground chicken dish with crispy basil and small spicy peppers. Any Thai aficionado who sees the photo I took will be horrified. We went on a Sunday, so service was light and set up for mostly a carry-out crowd. It appears that much of their business is oriented to carry out. However, they do have a nice bar area with live sports, so that's a big plus. All together, this place is okay if you are local, hungry, and looking for something different than the local pub fare. I do hope that Red Maple can at least spend a little time to improve their menu options by doing a little research on each dish.

The food at this location was very good. It has a wide range of meal options, however, it's well known for their Sushi Rolls, Nigirizushi, Makizushi, Sashimi and California rolls. Presentation of the food was very beautiful and the flavor was amazing. The ambience of the location was very nice conveniently situated at four corners. The parking lot isn't big my suggestion is to get a Lyft or Uber to drop you off at this location. Our service could have been a little bit better due to the server. Nonetheless, it didn't take away from the experience. I would definitely return back. This is a good date night location and a family friendly atmosphere. There is a bar located in the restaurant as well I noticed that there were a lot of locals at this location.

I went at the suggestion of a coworker after PD and I'm glad I did. As you can see I forgot to take a picture of my plate (delicious BTW) but I was excited to see they serve Ramune. I had the Black Pearl Roll (Tuna, Salmon & avocado wrapped in black rice). My coworkers had fried rice, lo mein, dumplings, miso soup, salad and Shirley Temples. The servers were very attentive, the restaurant was clean and the background music was nostalgic is a good way. There's enough room to bring a decent sized group and enjoy the day or evening. There were seven of us and our bill came just under $130. We all left satisfied. No dish was oily and the presentation matched the taste.

We enjoyed the food from Red sample but were extremely disappointing because they only sent one brown rice (we ordered two white rices) and they didn't send the Garlic Chicken. Luckily we were able to get our money back for the missing items. The Mongolian Beef, Crab Rangoon and Double Dragon Roll that were correct were delicious and we were pleased with those! We will try Red Maple again and hope they finally get the order correct next time!

I've only had the sushi, and it's decent for a neighborhood restaurant. I thought the rolls were on the small side compared to other sushi I've had in the area, but it's always been fresh. The miso soup on the other hand is awful. Maybe I had a bad batch, but it just tasted like water. No flavor at all.

Last time I ate there I got sick. Used to be high quality and very good, but something in the kitchen seems to have changed.

It's also a short walk from Takoma Metro. Cute and casual place. I didn't need reservations on Friday night or Monday night coming around 6:30 or 7 PM. It's probably harder and bigger groups but if you're just coming in two or four or even six, it should be pretty manageable. My favorite here is the pad Thai. I get extra lime and the spicy tray. And it's one of the best pad Thais I've had. The drunken noodles was OK and the green curry was OK for me. Not bad but also not what I'd be returning for (I'm coming back for pad thai!) my husband loved the green curry though. Service is pleasant and nothing over the top and water is topped off timely manner. Absolutely no complaints. They have two single stall bathrooms and that's kept pretty clean. They're outside seating is for takeout so that's kind of pleasant if you wanna do takeout and just eat it outside.

The decor was lovely and the ambiance represented an upscale experience in my opinion. They even offered free champagne and it was good! My friend and I tried: the Sticky Ribs Suya, Jerk-Braised Short Ribs with Curry Pea Risotto, Oxtail Mac & Cheese, and the Suya-Spiced Lamb Chops. All of the food was absolutely delicious, my only gripe would be that the lamb chops didn't come with enough green beans. The "Up All Night" (their version of an espresso martini) was also pretty good. Next time, I'd opt to get a traditional espresso martini though. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our waitress was very kind, attentive, and timely. We even left her an extra tip. If I had to make a suggestion, the big ape could be moved elsewhere. It really does take up too much space.

The menu has shrunk significantly and what's left doesn't justify the price point. $20 for deviled eggs? And nearly everything is paired with grits, which is interesting for a restaurant billing itself as African and Asian fusion. I brought a Nigerian friend along and we were both equally confused by that creative direction. Safe to say grits aren't exactly a staple. We were told about off-menu options tomahawk, ribeye (out of stock), and branzino. We went with the branzino and a potato hash that turned out to be exactly what it sounds like: cut up potatoes and what tasted like powdered eggs straight from a hotel breakfast buffet. The branzino needed salt, pepper AND hot sauce to get there, that's not a seasoning preference.. The ambience and decor remain the highlight genuinely a beautiful space. But a pretty room can only carry so much. I wanted to love this place. I really did. But I don't think a third visit is in the cards.

None of us were from this area, and we intended to go to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant, based on Yelp reviews. However, once we walked in the door, it was apparent this place was focused on carryout, and there was no way we were staying to eat in their dingy entrance area. We walked next door to the Meleket Ethiopian restaurant. However, the place was deserted, and we didn't stay there either. We tried the Lime & Cilantro, the next place down, but it was packed and couldn't handle our group. So, we skipped past the verernary clinic and went to Spring Garden. And, what a great choice that was. They offer a huge menu of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese meals. Everything is reasonably priced. Once we got our food, we were impressed with the quality and portion sizes. And, through it all, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Hot and Sour soup (my bellwether for Chinese restaurants) and beef chow fun. The soup was flavorful without being overpowering, and the chow fun was delicious too. I liked everything so much that I ordered another soup and Thai Basil with Chicken to go, and that's been my lunch for the past couple of days. Don't be put off by the seediness of its location.
