The chewy slow cooked beef was interesting
Ryan N.

I checked this place out based on mostly positive reviews. I don't think I have eaten more poorly prepared food. Complete garbage. The slow cooked beef tasted like you were chewing a baby goat ear. This place should close down as they obviously have no skills when it comes to preparation of food.

Calamari as appetizer

Thai Lime has become one of my places of choice since I moved to the Junction. Great prices + quick service + generous portions + amazing Thai food! Their lunch menu options are excellent - a good selection of appetizers + main dishes for 10.99. I have tried the chicken mango and the green curry chicken and both are really flavourful, solid dishes, yet my biggest surprise when I came to this place for the first time were the calamari - tender, very well cooked, tasty, the perfect appetizer. In my opinion one of the best Thai options in the hood, I have definitely become a fan. Also, free parking right in front of it :)

Lunch is $11.49 now, still good value for a combo of appetizer and main. And Thai Lime till makes the best calamari!

Thai Coconut Vegetable Soup. One of the eight choices of appetizers for their lunch special. This soup is soooooooooo good!!!

Love this joint! Amazing food and great prices. You gotta go during their lunch because you get a bomb ass meal for 10.99 which includes an appetizer (8 choices) and a meal (14-18 choices). The only problem I've had coming here is that they don't have enough staff. They have one waitress who works the whole place. They need more help because I waited way too long even just for my water. I can't blame the waitress at all because the place is busy and she needs time to catch up.

We ordered 2 cocktails to start with the tapioca dumplings and green papaya fritters. The drinks came out immediately. I had the Tincture Perfect, which was outstanding. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.

The space feels welcoming and comfortable, and it's the kind of place you can settle into without feeling rushed. The tables can feel close, but everyone is in their own conversations so it's lively in the atmosphere. Parking is on the street or a green P garage minutes walk away. Service: 5/5 Service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and quick when it mattered, without hovering. Everything came out smoothly and the pacing of the meal never felt rushed. Just make sure to let server know of any allergies as there are nuts used in cooking. Food: 5/5 The Thai milk tea was super refreshing and easily one of the best I've had. The beef salad is a must order for its bold flavors. For mains, the drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice were great complements to the beef massaman curry. They also have lunch menu at a smaller portion for a quick bite during the week.

Service personnel, many with genuine Thai heritage, execute their roles with palpable passion for the menu's cultural context. The kitchen approaches classical Thai flavor constructions with respect, evident in the balance of fundamental taste components--the interplay of spice, acid, and umami articulation. Signature preparations achieve notable authenticity, with ingredients selected for both quality and cultural accuracy. The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization. The pricing structure reflects aspirational positioning within Toronto's Thai dining landscape--a consideration worth acknowledging when evaluating value proposition relative to alternative establishments. The establishment's restrictive approach to dietary accommodation--particularly regarding plant-based protein substitution in curry preparations--represents a notable limitation for certain guest profiles, warranting consideration in advance planning. Si Lom Thai Bistro offers a competent, earnest interpretation of Thai cuisine, executed by personnel who understand and respect the tradition. The experience appeals to those seeking sophisticated Thai dining executed with cultural literacy, though contextual factors merit thoughtful consideration.

Stopped by for lunch and got: - Khao Soi Pu Nim: Curry was thick and tasty. Decent size for the soft shell crab. - Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp: Great heat and strong flavours with the rice. That alone made me curious, and after finally trying it, I get the hype. The place was packed and clearly very busy, but despite that, the servers were genuinely friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better, and ambience was good! Food-wise, everything we ordered was solid: * Pad See Ew was flavorful and well-balanced * Kor Moo Yang was juicy and perfectly grilled * Pad Woonsen Chaong was also delicious and comforting Overall, the flavors really worked for my palate. I personally liked this more than Koh Lipe. I also enjoy Pai -- honestly, I like most Thai spots -- but there's something about Toronto Thai food that just hits different. I've had Thai food in New York, London, and Seoul (and quite a lot of it), and somehow Toronto still does it better Bottom line: very satisfying meal, great energy, and food that lives up to the reputation. I'm glad I finally tried it and would definitely come back.

The only con was that the washrooms were downstairs so you have to walk out the building to access it again. Our server was super friendly and helped us choose the right items from the menu. We ordered the som tum tod which were hesitant to order coz we don't like papaya but it turned out to be the best dish that night. So so flavourful and very satisfying! We also ordered the pork jowl, minced chicken and garlic chicken with rice and everything was very well done. The mango sticky rice was however not upto the mark coz the mangoes were tart but they did warn us beforehand and we wanted to take that risk. Overall a great dinner at a Michelin recommended place.
