My fiancé had a Thai iced tea. I had a water. We both had pad Thai with steamed tofu. My food came out first and then my fiancé's, about 2 minutes later. My Pad Thai was medium plus and his was extra extra spicy. The pad Thai for me wasn't spicy enough, but they brought out a small tray with the 2 chili sauces, which helped. I also received a small plate of limes as I love my pad Thai with a lot of them. The overall sauce wasn't bad, noodles seemed slightly over cooked and the plate was almost overflowing with sauce. Great food. I got the crab Rangoon and the Pla Duk Ped, which is the catfish dish with curry sauce and vegetables , with a side of noodles. Let me start off with the crab Rangoon, it was more wonton then cream cheese filling which I usually don't like but to my surprise this was good and the sauce it came with was amazing as well. As for the main dish it was delicious the sauce was rich and creamy and had just the right amount of mild kick to it the bell peppers and water chestnuts had a nice crunch to it and the catfish was tender and went amazing with the sauce. I mixed the noddles with the dish and it made it even better. 10/10 highly recommend will be coming back for more. read more

Stopped by for a UYE lunch with Pauly G & Jeff H. Service was a little slow as we were coming in at the tail end of lunch rush. Decent sized restaurant, good number of tables and booths. Feeling a little noodle-ly, I looked at noodle dishes and ordered N9 Crazy noodles with chicken, medium hot. Love that they have heat levels. Also a spring roll. Order soon came up, a large noodle dish piping hot. It wasn't stuffed with vegetables or chicken, but pretty balanced. Heat was as promised, not blow your head off hot but it definitely hit you on the back end. Spring roll wasn't fantastic but a nice crunch to balance all the noodles. Had enough to take home for leftovers. Total with tip came out around $16, very reasonable. Enjoyable and I look forward to trying some of the other dishes. Recommend and will repeat! read more

Pretty decent Thai place opened up where Zack's Hot Dogs used to be. You'd never know it used to be Zack's... they did a really nice job of decorating the place. There is a lot of Thai competition around and Thai Kitchen is a welcome addition. I've been in a handful of times now and haven't tried anything that has blown me away, but the flavors have always been good to above average. For my tastes, best thing I have tried so far is the Panang Curry. They get that one right, for sure. Solid plate of Pad Thai as well, and if you're the type to order appetizers, the Curry Puffs are quite tasty. Spice levels are very much on the cautious side. So if you tend to prefer a medium-spiced dish, you probably want to order it hot here instead. read more

I tried this place during my lunch hour as I was wanting a good Thai meal. I went in and ordered a carry out. The place was semi-busy. The employees were very nice and prompt. However, when I got back to work with my carry out and opened the container I was shocked at how little of a portion they gave for a $10+ meal and barely any protein. It was mostly rice. I had ordered the shrimp and broccoli and was Ok taste wise- nothing special. I have learned there are many Thai locations in this area and this place needs to step it up. This is probably the best experience I've had at a Thai restaurant. Aesthetically the place is modern yet still has the Thai culture to it. I really enjoyed the look. We sat down and was immediately brought menus. It was a little busy with the take out orders but not an inconvenience since I was completely ready to order when they checked in. I ordered crab rangoon, pineapple fried rice, and the Thai iced tea. All of it was delicious. The service was very fast and the staff very attentive especially when it came to keeping my water glass filled which was a shock. If I could give zero stars I would, first the wait staff wasn't wearing a mask, 2nd I tried to place an order on the phone and through the app and both failed. I have had food from here twice and was happy both times. The first time was carry out. I had chicken Pad Thai. The food was very tasty and a nice size portion. The service was friendly also. The second time my husband and I dined in. It was very clean. The service was friendly and helpful. My husband got the curry pad Thai with chicken. Medium spicy. I'm not big on spice, so I found that a little too hot. Good curry taste, not over power. I had the Thai fried rice with chicken. Yum! Lots of chicken. I've had it from places before where they over do it with onion, they did not. We also had the wonton soup, which was good. And we had vegetable spring rolls, which were great. In a word, YUM!!! Growing up in HP, we had Pi's Thai which ruled the school until the original owner sold... the food was never the same and I haven't been there now in over 10 years. Quite honestly, I thought the sign looked kinda "chain-ey" and that kept me away. I should have remembered that you can't judge a book... you get the idea. Anyway, I was surprised when I walked in, it was very nicely decorated, and not "chain-ey" at all. There were a few customers eating in. I was greeted and asked for a menu for a carry out. Pad See-Ew has always been my go to... so I ordered that with shrimp, an order of Pad Thai with chicken, and some crab rangoons. I was super happy to see 5 (yes 5!) more customers walk in for carry outs as well while I was waiting. I got my food and off I went to the homestead to feast with the BF. The rangoons are delightful! they look like little pierogi, I've never seen them done that way before. This could possibly be because I'm sheltered also. I loved them though. Nice filling and the plum sauce is really great. Both dishes were delicious.. the Pad Thai had a little more heat than the Pad See-Ew, and that's expected since it's not as sweet. ( I ordered mild for both) Man, we were in heaven!! The ONLY complaint I would even have is I would have liked a few more shrimp than I got... The lunch portion was 3 meals for me, and 2 for the BF. So disappointed. Got carryout dinner last night after a long day. Spring rolls were hard and stale. The white rice that came with my girlfriend's curry was mushy. Her deep fried tofu tasted like it was fried in oil that had never been changed. My curry noodles were just a gloopy, stuck together, weird gelatinous mess. The soup tasted like watered down coconut milk. Guess I should have known when the guy at the front ssid it was just him and a cook working. I will not be back. At the time of this interview, I think the place has been open for less than a week. Here's my 2 cents: Pros: +Thai people actually cooking thai food?! How do I know they're thai? I watched Ong Bak so I know what the language sounds like. It's a rarity to have thai food cooked by thai people. It's usually by hmong people. Same goes with Vietnamese food and Chinese food cooked by Mexican people (if you think your chicken chow mein is cooked by an old chinese man named "Sifu", you're in for a rude awakening). Hey, I'm not racist. Go check for yourself! +Flavors in Pad See Ew (my favorite dish) is delightful. They use big noodles that other restaurants don't use, which is awesome because the bigger noddles don't stick to each other as much, allowing the flavors to coat the whole noodle. They also sprinkle fried garlic on the top. +Restaurant is nicely laid out, with an open kitchen. Hopefully they have a good ventilation system. +Menu is laminated and nicely designed. +Lots of Thai dishes to choose from, some not available in other restaurants. Cons +The beef in my Pad See Ew is kind of thin, and the broccoli is sparse. For now, Pho Tai on 12.5 and dequindre has the best broccoli and beef in their thai dishes. +No lemon in my pad see ew. That's it. The last one is just personal preference, but the beef and broccoli thing drops a star for me. Notes: They are brand new, so there are some things they can still improve on. The worst Thai food in metro food-bar none. We entered a fairly empty restaurant on a Friday night and there were only the third table of diners. We watched both other tables complain or send their food back but figured maybe they just ordered the wrong things. No such luck. We ordered the curry puffs which arrived hard as a rock and were obviously deep fried in old oil from a frozen package. Then we had a yellow curry and some sort of pork dish over egg noodles. Both were absolutely disgusting. The "pork" was extremely thin pieces of mystery meat on top of some noodles drowning in soy sauce. The curry chicken wasn't much better. Not once did the "server" check on us and although the owner came by to fill our waters, she also never asked how the meals were. We finally had to go to the counter to try and pay because nobody came to the table-in a restaurant with only three tables of diners. I actually asked the owner if she was in fact Thai because many/most of the Thai restaurants in the Detroit area are Hmong operated. She said she was in fact Thai. Unreal. The man said that everything has fish sauce in it, but on the menu it says certain dishes are vegetarian. As a vegan, I was trying to first find out what was really vegetarian- then from that figure out what didn't have dairy products. I have gone here in the past and have been told the dishes I've picked and chosen have been vegan, but now I really wonder if they actually were. The staff is usually friendly though! Pad thai addicts! Here is the place to be! Their chicken pad thai I tasted was closest to the famous Bangkok 96 thai Restaurant. It could very well go side by side with Bangkok's. (Maybe they have same cook). Gang panang/ panang curry were just right for my taste. I surely can eat it with more than just a cup of rice! Oh, and they serve a plenty! This is a new one on me the food at this place has been excellent over the years but their manager this evening was giving a young couple hard time for testing their food to see if it was too hot they were so embarrassed but I've got a big mouth and I said something he didn't like it. We've had food that was the wrong thing before and I always check it when we take it out and he's telling these people they can't check their food before they leave. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!.. My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch. The sign says open at 11, but they did not open the doors until 5 after. We ordered our food within a couple minutes, and then continued to wait. As the only customers in the place, we thought it would be fast. After 15 minutes I asked the waitress if we were going to get the soup. She said they were still making it. A few minutes later, a watered down, hot and sour soup came out. It tasted pretty good, but did not have the traditional consistency. Finally, 30 minutes after coming in the door, our food arrived. So much for a quick meal. My wife and I both ordered Basil dishes (Drunken Chicken and Basil Fried Rice) but there was not a speck of basil on either one. It wasn't awful, but it lacked the strong flavor notes we are used to. The waitress was pretty much non existent, She was courteous, but rarely came out of the back. Overall, I can not recommend this place. They recently opened, so perhaps they are still working through the kinks but I do not see myself as a repeat customer. My co-worker and I both got Pad Thai as it was the first time we had been there and there was no website to order from. The Pad Thai was overly sweet with very little heat (we ordered mild+ as previous reviewers had commented that mild was Hot). The sauce was not your typical Pad Thai flavors, it really tasted more like a spring roll sauce (sweet with a bit of sour). We also ordered the curry puffs which looked nothing like the ones that previous reviewers had posted. We tried this place on a whim, as it was open on Monday, but overall we would not order from here again. I would much rather drive down to Pho Thai or not have it at all. Tip: Make sure you leave plenty of time to get your food/eat. I ordered it from work and it took over a half hour to be ready. My favorite Thai place in the area was closed today so we decided to try this place and it was a terrible decision. I have eaten a lot of Thai food and my good to test a place dish is pad see ew. That tasted nothing like I have ever had. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. My husband got a different dish and it came out as a soup rather than how it was featured in the photo.
