I have been here a few years ago. It was excellent ! I picked up carry out, I asked for extra sauce on both meals. One was very dry , the other had a little sauce ! They gave me a small container of dry seasoning. Only a small amount off meat in each meal. Very disappointed ? It could have been a bad day , wasn't busy at all. This is seriously the best Thai food I've ever had. I live on Harsens Island but every time I'm out that way I make a point to go there and get carry out. Their Chicken Pad Ped is probably the best Thai dish I've ever had. I wish I could replicate it. The Pad Thai is amazing as well. They are both on the sweeter end of things, but that's what I like. Also, the crispy rolls are the best I've had anywhere period. I travel a lot for work and everywhere I go, I usually get Thai food and honestly I haven't found a place that compares - not just the crispy rolls, but everything. Hole in the way Thai place, small, family owned. But authentic Thai food. My fiancé used to come here weekly when he lived in Detroit, and it did not disappoint. Due to COVID, you just order at the counter. The quality is still great. - Pad se ew (4/5): noddles had a rich taste that hit the spot. Cooked and seasoned well. Medium was the perfect spice level for me - Seafood curry (4/5): we ordered hot, and it was a bit spicy for me but my fiancé loved it. This is my favorite of all the Thai restaurants for carry out. The food is crave-worthy, delicious, and habit-forming. Last week I ordered the Pad Ped, with soft-as-butter eggplant slices, fresh mushrooms, tender chicken (and lots of it), perfectly translucent onion slices, and the red curry sauce so good I could just drink it. This week, it was the Pad Cashew in a brown sauce that's just as dangerously addiction forming - loads of crisp cashews, tender chicken, perfect onion slices, and bamboo slices. Now I have two favorites. The Vegetable Spring Rolls with sauce are so good I didn't switch to any of the other appetizers yet. Each time I've ordered, it's ready very quickly, usually 10-15 minutes. This carry out restaurant is small and clean, and the staff is very good when calling for orders, and friendly and professional in person. The orders are very well packed. So we were in the mood for some good pad thai but not wanting to wait too long and on the door dash app it said under 30 minutes from this place. I have never had it from here before, but I will again. Wow the spice levels were perfect, we got medium pad thai and mild drunken noodle. I feel compelled to give them 2 stars but the food was good enough to encourage a return so 3 stars it is. I ordered the seafood curry #18. If you are familiar with this dish practically everywhere I have been when ordered to go this comes in a soup like container. Here it did not and made for a BIG mess when I finally got to work. This place isn't that far from my work but far enough for it to warrant a well packaged to go order. The flavor was just ok. Nothing over the top and it didn't knock my socks off either. I had more bamboo shoots than I did seafood. I do wish it would have had a bit more scallops and shrimp than it did-- so the ratio would have been 60/40. I could live with that. This dish comes with steamed white rice, which I did not eat. I also ordered the crab rolls. These were good, definitely better than an egg roll. I did call the restaurant to inform them of their ill packaged to go order and the young lady said they would take note. On their menu it states VERY boldly "NO REFUNDS OR SUBSTITUTIONS". Not something that leaves a good taste in my mouth seeing as though restaurants should offer substitutions when there is the need for it. As well as discounted price for a bad meal. But that is my opinion. Over all I would order to go here again but would give instruction on how to package my meal to make for a less messy meal. read more

I've purchased takeout here a couple times. The first time I ordered chicken pad Thai (medium spice) and crispy rolls. My boyfriend ordered drunken noodles (mild spice) and chicken wings. I wasn't impressed with the pad Thai and I would prefer to drive further away to Thai delight for pad Thai. I was extremely disappointed with the crispy rolls because they were undercooked and not crispy in the least, there was no color on them whatsoever. The drunken noodles were actually the best I've ever had though and the chicken wings were pretty good as well. The second time I ordered I got the drunken noodles because they were so good the first time! Sorely disappointed to realize they don't taste anything like the first time I had them. I got another order of crispy rolls thinking it was probably a fluke that they weren't cooked correctly. No, I was very wrong. The second set was actually burned almost completely burned. Obviously, they didn't taste very good. In short for my experience it's not consistent and I'd rather drive further than eat bad food. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Ok, this place surprised me. In a good way. I'm always afraid to try little places in dingy strip malls, but I'm glad that I did. Nothing fancy here, but it's clean and simple. The food.. Well, you know how when you're eating something, and you don't want to stop eating it because it tastes so good - even though your stomach is screaming "NO MORE"? Yeah, that happened. Had the "crabmeat" rolls, which were your basic spring roll, with fake crab, served with sweet/sour dipping sauce. They were ok, but like I said, basic. The pad ped with shrimp was delicious. That's what I couldn't stop eating (and still had more to bring home!), because it was almost perfect - but not up to spice. I ordered "medium" and calling it mild plus would be a stretch. But, still good. I'll just order it spicier next time. Also had Thai iced tea - it was great, but would have preferred it in a glass, rather than a styrofoam cup. Same for the yummy shrimp chips - it would be nice to serve them in a basket for people dining in. Little things, but nothing that will prevent me from returning. read more

Best Thai food on this side of town. They are consistently good and you can rely on their spice levels. Give you lots, a great deal for your $. Spring rolls are soggy but taste good. Prolly not a lot of Thai to choose from around here, so I thought I'd give the diminunatively named Lil Thai Express a shot. Doesn't look like much from the outside, set in a dumpy strip mall with garish neon signs and a bumpy parking lot. The grease cloud that welcomed me didn't seem to bode well either, but the joint still seemed to serve up some pretty swell Pad Thai, though. The beef was a little tough (that's what I get for not trusting their shrimp on my maiden voyage) and the "hot" spice setting was less than challenging to my midwestern pallette, but that pad Thai did hit the spot nonetheless. The egg was yummy and the noodles had just the right consistency. Lil' Thai has a whole bunch of magazines up front for patrons to peruse, too. I looked through a Time with the 100 Most Influential People while I was there. The service is prompt and friendly as well. As well as the crab rangoons and they also have shrimp chips like every other Thai restaurant has in a bag for a dollar 50 that you can't beat if you're trying to feed a family.
