The first thing you notice when entering the restaurant is an outgoing, energetic Lady who greets everyone who comes thru the door. Once seated the staff attended to our needs immediately. The menu was extensive offering numerous selections from various cultures. We were seated near the owner, Bunhom Khotakoon. As good as the food was Bunhom was the highlight of the evening. Watching her run this fine establishment was a joy to see, her attention to every detail was apparent and comes from decades of running such a fine restaurant. We had a second occasion to go out to dinner, and all agreed we wanted to return to Thai. This time we asked Bunhom to surprise us. This was the right decision. The food she had the kitchen staff prepare was amazing. I can't say what we enjoyed more, every dish checked all the boxes when it came to satisfying our taste buds. The Thai tea was an added surprise; the taste was not only delicious but exotic to boot. Being from Louisiana we know good food and appreciate spicey cuisine, Thai Spices Restaurant exceeded our expectations. I know where I'll be dining when I return to Lodi. Of course plenty of chicken, beef, pork and tofu but also seafood like fish, shrimp, scallop and also duck and lamb! Tonight we started off splitting a large Singha, which will fill up 2 very chilled beer mugs. We then got the Pad See Ew with Beef. The beef was cut so thin and was so tender. The dish was savory and we even used a bit of white rice to soak the rest of the sauce up! We also got an order of the Red Curry Duck, again the meat is sliced thin and is super tender. Cooked in the red curry with bell pepper and bamboo shoot. Then an order of large white rice. The spices on the side are so tasty too and so fun to experiment! The bao veggie filling is different than the dumpling filling, and it's very delicious. They have standard Chinese dishes in addition, but I have not ventured far into the rest of the menu. Unfortunately I cannot as of yet share whether any of this, or the dipping sauces are vegan friendly. Hopefully on a future visit I can find out and report. The dishes I have so far mentioned are vegetarian friendly. Not sure on the dipping sauces. Possibly? The price is pretty decent for what you get. One order of bao or dumplings is plenty for two people. They are about $13 each. I like how the takeout containers come in a reusable canvas bag. Ordering over the phone has been smooth each time. So, we keep coming back when the hankering hits, braving what can be a busy parking lot.

They make their sausages in-house, and while they were good, I think they could be a bit larger considering the price, along with a touch more salt for a more savory flavor. Unfortunately, some items were out of stock, but that was completely fine. The decor is beautiful, and I love the lighting! When he brought it over, he cleared our plates to box up all of the sushi we'd barely touched and he accidentally spilled soda on one of our rolls.
