While I was in Pullman there isn't much Thai food or restaurant. TBH Thai Ginger is one of the kind that taste like real Thai food. Instead of just some generic places for Thai. I love there papaya salad but sometimes they don't have them so you have to ask. One of my favorite is there Drunken noodle also called pad see you. This is a great little place. The peanut sauce here is fantastic! The chicken satay is juicy and nicely seasoned. My Phad Kee Mao was yummy and beautifully spicy. My dad's Phad Thai was flavorful. As far as ethnic food goes in Pullman, this is about tops. The atmosphere...isn't, but service is friendly and fast, even when the restaurant is at capacity. The use of space is a bit odd, as is the realization halfway through lunch or dinner that the muzak is in Thai, not English, but all of the strange quirks become trivial when the food arrives. I love Thai food, eating it whenever possible, and must agree with a previous reviewers comment that many of the dishes here are batter than any I've had in Seattle or Amsterdam. I suggest coming in as a group. A larger party helps to offset the lack of decorations and opens up possibilities of sampling more dishes. I'd recommend the Swimming Rama, Tofu Massaman Curry, Chicken Phad Thai, mango fried rice, Phad Se Ewe, or Son In Law Eggs( bizarre but fabulous!!) The menu is so large that, in order to avoid guiltily picking old standby favorites I've started picking by dish number randomly, and have been very pleased each time. I've grown up here in Pullman, and am very happy that we somehow lucked out enough to get this tasty Thai restaurant out in the middle of nowhere. read more

Thai Ginger I Love You! They always deliver and keep me coming back for more! The Thai food here is better than most I have had in Seattle. I have been eating here for ever and I have never had a bad experience. When I need a great meal in Pullman this is where I go. I went through a phase where I ate here almost once a week. This restaurant is cheap, the portions are huge and the food comes super fast. Even when I have come on parents weekends they still deliver the great food and quick service I am used to. I recommend the spicy green beans, fresh lettuce rolls with the peanut sauce or the yellow curry. This place is honestly amazing. My parents were dropping me off for university, so we had to find a place for lunch. We were actually on our way to another restaurant when we noticed this quaint little place. We went in and ordered. We got the butterflies (which are AMAZING), a plate of pad Thai, a plate of yakisoba, green curry, and Massaman curry. This fed our entire family of seven, and completely filled us all. The food is absolutely delicious, and the restaurant itself is very clean. The service is fast and everyone is very kind. The prices are pretty average. This place is delicious and it's one of my favorite places to eat in Pullman. The quality is consistently good, the meat lean and veggies fresh. I docked them a star due to their inconsistent spiciness. I recommend their cashew chicken, spicy green bean, or lamb curry. My boyfriend almost always gets the bangkok fried rice and loves it- he deviated once with the swimming rama and found their peanut sauce to be too strong. For the average college student in Pullman, Thai Ginger hits all the right spots. Price: Affordable, even for those students on a tight budget. Taste: Great! I have been eating Thai food for years and this tastes definitely above-average. Restaurant: Great for groups! Its a spacious place, lots of seating and the atmosphere inside is lovely. Also nice and clean. Service: Sadly I would have to say the one issue I have with this place (and the reason for the three star rating) is the slow service. There is usually only one server working, even when it is busy. I have had multiple occasions where my friends and I had to wait extended periods for the server to check on us. It usually takes a while to get the check and any boxes you might need. Other: -They do takeout! I have ordered over the phone and came 10 minutes later and grabbed a to go dinner. -HUGE portion size! Especially if you order a fried rice or noodle dish, usually when I eat here I have basically enough for 2 meals and a small snack! -My personal favorites are the pineapple fried rice, any of the curries. -Check out the salads! I have to agree with the recent post about this place. The food is fairly good, but definitely not the best. We've gone here a couple times and enjoyed what we had. Except last time when I got the bbq thai chicken. It was essentially cooked chicken and rice. The side sauce saved the dish. Something a sauce shouldn't have to do. The service was unbearably slow, and forgetful. We ordered thai iced teas (plural) right at the start. We only got one, about halfway through our meal. I had to remind them of the second order. Decent prices, food is okay. ambiance is poor. The one plus side to the restaurant is that it seats many customers and can accommodate a big party in a private room in the back. Their food comes out fast, which means there is probably a lot of people in the kitchen, since there was only 1 waiter on the floor at any given time, and he looked like the manager of the restaurant. The food itself wasn't terrible, but I prefer PhiKun's Thaifood to this place even though Thai Ginger's portions are bigger. Their Pad Kee Mao is too sweet and the noodles were overcooked/ way too soft. The rice that comes with curry was too hard, although the duck curry itself was decent. My friends ordered the Crying Tiger, and the beef was too dry and very chewy. Good food, reaonable prices, large portions, food comes out fast. The major drawback is the atmosphere. Its commonly dark there is an usused buffet bar where place settings are stored. The restraunt just doesn't have a clean feeling when you get inside. I think it just seems cluttered. I would recommend this place when with a group of friends to grab some quick dinner and drinks. I ordered pad Thai and it was awful. The noodles were way over cooked and it tasted like it had been sitting there all afternoon. There was no flavor just overdone noodle taste. Here's the quick rundown: The food is seriously delicious. We've just eaten the cold leftovers and I swear it was even more delicious cold. We were served by an older Thai lady and a young WSU student. The student was helpful and attentive, the Thai lady was rude and disinterested. Good luck getting her to do anything but dump the food down in front of you and walk off. The food came very quickly. This is something to worry about in some restaurant but it's a good thing with Thai food- the food should be cooked quick and delivered fast so the fragrant flavours are still in abundance. The only criticism with the food was that I asked for mine '3 chilis' hot and my wife asked for '2 chilis' hot, but hers was definitely hotter than mine. We didn't care all that much though because it was so delicious. Also, the portions are gigantic. So I'll give it 4 instead of 3 because I care about food more than service, but I know that the attitude of the Thai servers who don't have the 'can-do' attitude that Americans have will annoy some people a lot more than me- I'm English so maybe I'm more used to grumpy waiters. read more

We have had: pad Thai, Phad kee mao, avocado rolls, and green curry. My boyfriend and I have not cared for any of these dishes. The pad Thai was probably the best, but pretty bland overall. The curry had no flavor (we asked for extra hot), and it tasted very plain. The eggplant in it also wasn't cooked. Phad kee mao also didn't have much spice or seasoning. Avocado rolls were so-so - I read reviews others like them, so I gave them a try, but nothing special. The peanut sauce they came with was good, though. Overall, it just didn't have much flavor and was low quality. I personally would not order from here again, but if I did the pad Thai is probably the safest choice. read more

I was surprised to find good Thai food in Pullman. The meal I had was excellent. There were only two other people in the entire place when we went to eat so I was worried that it wasn't going to be good but I guess people just don't know about this place. AMBIANCE: Quiet and quaint. It feels kind of homey feeling in the way that you'd wanna eat family style.The Thai-inspired decorations are a nice touch and the music playing in the background is played at a good volume. FOOD: Honestly has to be some of the Thai food that I've ever had. Maybe I haven't tried the "best" that other people may think is the greatest but honestly, this is GOAT (Greatest of all time! Yup, MJ stats) to me right now. I've tried many other Thai places in Hawaii when I go back but none can live up to the chicken pad thai with a level 3 heat that's served here. I prefer a good balance between sweet and spicy and their pad thai delivers! It always comes with a side of peanuts but it's never enough for me so I always ask for a little more. Pairing it with a thai iced tea is always a good idea! The prices are reasonably especially for the portions. My girlfriend can eat in the restaurant, bring home leftovers, and have those leftovers last for another 3 meals. On the other hand, after I eat in the restaurant and bring home leftovers, those leftovers would last me another maybe 2 meals. Bear in mind, we like to eat it with a side of rice, probably because it's saucy enough. I've also tried their lamb curry, I think it was, and I'm not a fan of lamb so I only tried the curry with rice. It was really good! Good amount of spices with a nice amount of heat. SERVICE: It just depends. If you're dining in, it's usually a hit or miss. The servers are always really nice and try to get your order out to you as soon as possible. Every now and then they get really busy and although it feels like nobody cares about you or anything, they're just trying to keep up with everything going on. Understandable. OK Thai place in Pullman that my roommate when I spent a semester there, before transferring to a branch of WSU in a more happening part of Washington State (let's be honest, Pullman is boring, okay? And there's violent swearing in mat' describing what kind of boring, okay? I just won't actually type it). Basically it's completely outshone by the Korean BBQ/Japanese place in terms of asian food, but it's a lot cheaper and a very nice place for college students to grab some curry or pad thai. Also they ignore you making Russian jokes which disparage various eastern european ethnicities and your roommate making baby-in-dumpster jokes in return, which is really important to avoiding getting the police called when you're in stressed out college dining mode. read more

The only area this restaurant lacks is lighting inside as well as service. They bring the check to the table before your done eating.
