Delicious. Servings are generous. We tried the hot and sour soup. The tofu and pork were very tender but it could be a little spicier. Chicken Pad Thai had great flavor, and the chicken wasn't weird like it can be in Pad Thai sometimes. Orange Beef was very good, not tough. Crab Rangoons had good flavor. Tried for our first time while in the are, wanted to support a small business and this one had high reviews. I wanted to really like this spot but I just didn't. I called my order in before driving the shirt distance to pick up. Cashier was friendly. The inside is plain, could use something to make ot feel more inviting/comfortable/give some kind of ambiance but ultimately I care about the food more. I finally received my order and as I was walking towards the door something made me turn back to get a utensil, I'm glad I did because there was none included in my to go bag. We are in a hotel and would have been really disappointed to have to find something to eat with. I ordered sweet & sour chicken and wanted a side of fried rice, most places let you upgrade for a fee but this location does not. The dish was not very good. I can't point to exactly why I didn't like it, it was a decent portion size and large pieces but I just didn't like it very much. Also ordered crab ragoons. I'm not sure if there was misunderstanding, just rude, or language barrier but I got only cream cheese. Not sure if they have crab ones and messed my order up or only do cream cheese and she did not communicate that with me when I ordered. Either way, that was disappointing. Soup dumplings were delicious. Beef noodle soup was seasoned well, beef was tender. We also ordered beef in chilly oil, didn't expect it to be a soup but it was also tasty. They have an extensive menu. Service took some time . Overall, it was a good experience, but not exceptional. read more

I have only been here twice. My daughter attends University of Idaho in Moscow and we ran across Tan's. Our second visit was as excellent as the first but this time I took pictures. The decor is simple but the food and service are excellent. The food is more savory and less sweet. You choose your drinks from a refrigerator. They have a fair selection. We will go back each visit I make. We may never get an appetizer other than the Xiao Long Bao because we love it so much. read more

We are visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area. Just arrived last night and decided to try this restaurant due to other Yelp reviews. Oh my gosh, the food is absolutely delicious! The menu has well-known favorites plus other authentic dishes. We tried the bbq pork buns, vegetable chow mein, firecracker chicken and Mongolian beef. Flavors were on point on all dishes. What amazed me most is the apparent lack of oil used. I'm sure oil is used, but I've had many restaurant experiences where way TOO much oil is used. There was no oil left on the dishes. As we left, our stomach were full, but didn't feel overly so. We felt good all night. To compare, sometimes I will feel too full after eating Chinese food or I will get heartburn later. Tan's had always been my favorite Chinese place & I have had sweet & sour many times but there was definitely something wrong with this. Chicken was very tough & had a really strange taste I can't identify. Sauce was not very good either so I ended up throwing out almost all the chicken & the rice. Total waste of $16. The only thing that really bothered me about eating in here was the atmosphere of the place. One, the interior of the place doesn't make it feel like a restaurant, but rather like an office. They have a drop ceiling and short carpeted floors. Two, the server was not actively attentive. Table touches are essential to any restaurant to ensure guests are satisfied and that their needs are met. I had to flag down the server to get some extra napkins. In the cold month of March. Went to WSU and stayed at the Holiday Inn on Bishop Blvd. Saw a Chinese restaurant and went to try it. The chow (fun) fen was good and the Chinese sausage (lup chong) fried was good. The salt and pepper chicken I didn't care for but the rest of my group did. Sweet and sour fish was also good but wish they cut the fish into smaller peices instead of leaving the fish as a filet. The pot sticker comes steamed or fried. We got them fried. We were warmly greeted by the owner of this fast served (not fast food) Chinese food. I could hear what is either her husband or a cook scrapping away at the wok. Definitely a sign of scratch made dishes in this awesome Chinese restaurant. What distinguishes this location is that they use really fresh ingredients and higher quality proteins. I loved how tender the beef was in our chow fun. They put authentic chinese love into their dishes and price wise isn't expensive at all. Our beef chow fun was $11.95 The seasame Chicken wasn't the favorite of what we ordered but just my preference as it tasted sweet and sour.
