When we went it was a Long wait and dirty dishes on every table, but the best string bean and broccoli beef dishes I have ever had!!!! Worth the wait! Nobody knows how to properly cook string bean, always overcooked, not here! read more

My wife and I have eaten here many times. The food is outstanding! I went off of a random recommendation and had the beef chow fen. Holy cow was it good! The Tso chicken is amazing with chicken breast chunks instead of processed meat cubes. The service is great and the food authentic. Its a fight between Tans and One other pla for best chinese food in Pullman award. All I know is that whoever wins, we win. Its been a year since we first ate here and my only additional comment is that TUESDAY MISSES YOU! Closed on Tuesday's is so sad, but tour food is still amazing! read more

We decided to walk over to this restaurant and try it out . Was small but clean. Some authentic Chinese decorations could have brightened up the place. We ordered deep fried prawns for appetizer. Yum. Our mains were cashew chicken and Mongolian beef which both came with egg fried rice. Absolutely delicious!! Probably the best Chinese food we've had in a long time. They were busy but the waitress and host were friendly and did their best. Would highly recommend this place. read more

For Pullman, this Chinese restaurant is probably one of the better ones in the area (or so I heard). I got the xiao long bao and the gyoza. The soup dumpling juice could've been a bit richer, and it got cold really fast. The meat in the center was good though. The gyoza, as wel, was pretty good and it was nice to have the different sauces served with each of the portions. (Close approximations of the prices!) Soup dumplings - $10ish Gyoza - $8ish A bit pricier for what you get, but it's definitely one of the better restaurants in the area. read more

My daughter recommended this restaurant for its Xiao Long Bao but said that the other dishes are excellent as well. Since the only place in Honolulu that I knew served Xiao Long Bao closed, I wanted to eat it here. However the server said to come earlier next time because it sells out quickly. So we ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp, Chicken Chow Fun. Crunchy Beef and Pork Belly instesd. The food was delicious! Great to eat as leftovers too! If you are in Pullman, Washington, and crave great Chinese food, this is the place to go! read more

Tan' Chinese Restaurant - Firecracker Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Pullman, Washington

Overall not a very good experience. Coming from seattle this Chinese food was nothing near authentic. The potstickers, just labeled as "potstickers" without the contents, were loaded with ground beef...ew. Shanghai noodles weren't half bad, the firecracker chicken was good, and so were the pork buns. The shrimp wonton soup base had absolutely no flavor whatsoever but I did enjoy the wontons. This restaurant only has soda to drink, no tea or anything like that. I am extremely surprised that this place is rated so highly considering that it was not even close to being a 4 star. Tables were also sticky even after the waitress wiped them down. If you want good food in Pullman I suggest getting American style food, don't waste your time on ethnic food, it's not good around here. Also, it was 6pm on a Friday and they were out of the soup dumplings. read more

Delicious Chinese food. Enjoyed the Hong Kong style noodles and General Tsao's chicken. I cannot wait to try to crispy chicken. Yummy sweet and sour soup. Bao was okay and the chow fen noodles were alright. The pricing is a bit high and I do wish there was a warmer and welcoming ambiance inside. read more

The food here was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I ordered food to-go tonight and we love everything that we ordered! The Mongolian beef was crispy and had a wonderful flavor, the general tsos chicken was nicely prepared, and all of our appetizers were to die for. Their Jian fried buns were so good and our wontons were great as well! Don't listen to reviews from people who don't know what they're talking about. read more

The food is very good. But if you're trying to place a take-out order over the phone, good luck. The call frequently goes to a "mailbox full and not taking messages" message, even when the restaurant is open for business. read more

Small, local spot with some of the best Chinese food in town. Highly recommend- but get there early or plan ahead. They do get busy with takeout orders and tables fill quickly. Totally worth it though. read more

Best Chinese food from pullman-moscow! I've been to many places but this one is the best.

Good food but lacking any ambiance. Feels almost like a cafeteria. People are nice and food is good. Pricey for the total experience.

Very good food! Good service! Best authentic Chinese restaurant ever. It's one of the reason I like Pullman.

Best authentic Chinese food restaurant in Pullman. They have a large menu with lots of options. You can get takeout or delivery. The restaurant is self has a small sitting room that is very cozy and enjoyable. And the service is fairly good, though sometimes they can be really busy and it'll take a little longer for you to get waited on. read more

My favorite hot and sour soup in town, hands down. The spice level is perfect and it's got a great tang. I love that there are pieces of meat and you get a lot of soup with one order. We have also liked the house chow fen, spicy fire cracker chicken, crispy garlic general tso, and spicy beef. We have been pleased with it all. The service could be a little better as well as the restaurant atmosphere but they are easy to do take out with. read more

Okay I'm literally writing this review while I'm in the restaurant because I just couldn't wait. I gave this place 5 stars because this is hands down the MOST authentic Chinese food place in town. I'm from a predominantly Chinese suburb in LA and have parents who immigrated from Taiwan so trust me when I say I know what good Chinese food is. The server is so sweet and she hustles hard to make sure you don't wait too long. I highhhhly recommend the beef noodle soup, the xiao long bao (which is kind of a soup dumpling but smaller) and the firecracker chicken. Honestly, I really hope this place stays forever. If you want affordable, authentic, amazing Chinese food, go to Tan's. read more

1. Very much authentic Chinese food. 2. Very clean and bright, including bathroom. 3. The lady serving food is very nice and welcoming. If I have to pick something to improve: I think their business is too good and they should hire another server:) read more

My friend and I saw this restaurant pop up on Yelp not to long ago, so we decided to see how good the food was. I'm always skeptical about eating Asian cuisine in such a small town because I'm not sure how well the food is made and if the food will be authentic. Boy...I was surprised, Tan's definitely satisfied my cravings and it is probably as goo as it gets in Pullman, WA. On our first trip, we had wanted to get the Xiao Long Bao, but they had ran out and that they would have more hand-made Xiao Long Bao in a few days. So we ordered a few items and enjoyed our meal. And decided that it was so good that we would make the trip for the Bao Long Bao and more food tasting. So here are our thoughts on food, atmosphere, and service: Food: We ordered the following in our two trips combined: - Pork Potstickers: The potstickers are delicious. I enjoyed every potsticker. They are one of the best in the area. - BBQ Buns: The pork buns are just how they are suppose to taste. They are delicious and the meat is deliciously made. - House Chow Fen: I have been looking for a place that would make this dish. It is my favorite chinese dish. This is not overly oily as other dishes. In addition, I have to say that this definitely satisfied my cravings for this dish. - Spicy Fish Fillet - Deliciously spicy dish! If you like fish and spicy all in a soup, then I would recommend this dish. I very much enjoyed this. But it's a lot, so you can split this. You will also get rice with this dish. - Chinese Sausage Fried Rice: This was my least favorite dish. I'm glad they have the option for Chinese Sausage. The sweetness of the Chinese Sausage was dried out and the dish could have used a lit more soy sauce. I ended up taking it home and re-seasoning the dish for the the next day. - Jian Bao - These Baos were okay. Not my favorite. The bao did not have the most flavor, but it was okay. - Xiao Long Bao - These were great. Came out in a bamboo steam basket, so they were steaming hot and fresh. The soup was delicious and it was perfect. For Pullman, to have a place with Xiao Long Bao...it makes me so happy. - HK Style Chow Mein - Fairly well made. This dish had a nice crunch and it was not drenched in the sauce. It was a great sigh I would recommend if you want to try something really authentic. - General Tsao Chicken - I'm not usually a fan of this type of dish. This was not a favorite, however my friend enjoyed it. Atmosphere: It looks like an office was changed into a restaurant. You will see very few decorations. They just opened and I will say that I could do without the decor if I could have good food. I believe they will slowly begin decorating when they have the ability. Service: The place looks like it is run like a mom and pop diner. The owners are elderly folk and will attended to as soon as you need them and when you sit down. I have not be disappointed by their service. Very kind folks. This restaurant does not stand a chance against restaurants in Chinatown in large cities, but for Pullman...it is the best. read more

My very favorite restaurant in Pullman. It has the best food and the kindest service. Trust me, the wait is worth it!!

Tried Tan's tonight. I highly recommend the Xian Jiang Bao. It was excellent and I'm looking forward to going there just for that. I'd say that this is more along the lines of traditional Chinese but there will be something for everyone without a doubt. We also tried the egg rolls, Fire Cracker Chicken, and Crispy Beef. The next time I'm hoping to try their Bacon Fried Rice. Looking forward to the next visit already! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The food is okay. It's a nice place to stop by when you're on your way to catch a movie (especially since there are fairly limited food options in that part of town), but it isn't somewhere I would go out of my way for. My main complaint was concerning the cleanliness, which is something I care a great deal about when it comes to food. The silverware and plates had a greasy film on them. Sure, it may have been from the dishwasher, but when I used my napkin to try wiping my fork, it revealed that it had been covered in an oily yellow substance. It could have just been an off night; I'll likely visit again the next time I see a movie - but maybe I'll try something like the steamed buns that can be eaten without silverware. read more
