My room mate picked up some Thai food on Saturday night. (This review is for the THAI FOOD). Tom Yum Jay Soup, Yellow Curry, and Spring rolls. I must say the subtle spices and flavors once again did not disappoint. The spring rolls were perfect and quite well sized. Veggies were crisp and the sauces on point... all wrapped in a firm rice paper wrapper. I LOVE these!! The Yellow Curry had a little kick (my room mate does not have the same love of spice I do)....however the spices in the curry were excellent. That is my favorite part of curry. The Tom Kha Jay soup was good as well. Though more like lemon grass veggie soup, I did not get the richness of coconut milk, but I did enjoy the hot and sour aspect, as well as the lemongrass flavor. Prices have gone up a bit, but what prices have not. The food here has been consistently good since 2011. This , I am sure is a family run business....and the quality of food is worth every single penny. read more

Pad Thai was ok. Not what I'm use to, but it was edible. I am not sure if it was because it was take out and the steam of noodles made peanuts and chili soggy and soft. It only took 20minutes for pickup so it was pretty quick to get our food. If we order from here again I think I'll try the curry. read more

I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered Larb and it had so many onions in it I couldn't taste anything except onion. On top of that it was served in a sea of broth, so wet that eating it on lettuce leaves just dripped all over my clothes. I am always suspicious of Thai restaurants that have a Chinese side of the menu. We ordered the cashew chicken and the yellow curry. To me both dishes tasted more like the Chinese version of those dishes. Still good but not authentic Thai. The Tum Yum Gai was correct. Service was very good. read more

We've been trying different Thai places around the Tucson area, and this nice, friendly little place is close to our house so we thought we'd give it a try. We did take-out dinners, Pad Thai which was delicious (but next time I'll ask for more spicy heat) and Thai Red Curry, very tasty and nicely spicy, and both had generous portions. So Fresh! We had the yom yai salad such bright flavors throughout, Tom yum jay soup is one of my all time faves and so good here! My fiancée got the yellow curry, a bit too sweet for me, I got the hoa mick tar lay loaded with seafood, bean thread noodles and such a savory shitake broth serious YUM! We wanted some delicious thai food for lunch and decided to stopped by this location. It's located right next to the Lee Lee international market. There's a Chinese Combo restaurant next to Thai Cuisine, but they are actually just one restaurant with two names, not sure why. Anyway, you can get Chinese and Thai food in one place. We walked in around 11 something in the morning and the place was pretty empty with another couple only. We were greeted by a gentleman behind the counter and he directed us to a booth table. The first booth we sat have crumbs all over the table so we moved over to another table. He gave us a lunch menu with one side cater to Thai food and the other Chinese food. The menu is quite simple with some popular dishes. We settled for thai food and ordered pork ribs, spring rolls, and stir fried noodles. Lunch entree comes with soup and salad or noodles ($1.50 more). Luckily, we didn't order our own lunch because their serving was big enough to shared for two. Overall, the food was decent because their Thai dishes taste more like Chinese. It would be really nice if they can completely separate the taste in both dishes that they offer. If you want something quick and affordable, I'd recommend this location. read more

How can you be an authentic Thai Restaurant without spicy food? Every Thai restaurant I've ever been to has been great and a wide variety of spicy foods. Came here for a third time, and this place just doesn't make the grade. The food is Okay, but just not up to standard. My sweetie had pad Thai and it was over sauced and had one note of sweet. The meat was indiscernible. She ordered pork and it seemed more like chicken. I had a papaya salad. It was undergirded with a bunk of iceberg lettuce instead of shredded papaya and it was swimming in a dish of vinegar (almost overflowing the plate). Again the flavor was OKay, just not up to par. This place was a pleasant surprise after starting off with some uncertainty. First off, it was very empty this holiday weekend and the egg drop soup was more bland than I had expected. When my pork fried rice came out (looking different than any other place I had expected) I thought I was in trouble but the taste was great! I was expecting small pieces of diced pork but it was very much the opposite. So, as a lunch special, the soup was so so, the side (upgraded to lo mein) and the entree were very good. The accompanying egg role is tiny, like the size of a sugar packet, but it was very flavorful and they've got normal sized versions that can be ordered as well. once again i wish i could do half stars because this place was not exactly a 3, buut not quite a 4. we had the pad thai and pad see eew, which satisfied the craving for thai food but wasn't anything to write home about. the pad thai was missing the iconic peanut flavor, and the sauce just didn't taste like pad thai. the noodles were good and well made, but didn't have the right flavor. the pad see eew had all the correct elements of a pad see eew dish, but was very dry and the sauce could have been a lot more flavorful. overall the service was friendly and fast, and the meal was cheap but those positives can't make up for the missing flavor. read more

This is not Thai food. I spent nearly one year in the country during the Vietnam war. So I know what Thai food tastes like. This is not it! I noticed that everything was Chinese in this place as soon as I walked in the door: the wall decorations, the place mats. No portrait on the Thai King and Queen on the wall (that is compulsory). I asked for a Thai beer. The waitress could not find Sing Ha for me. I had to point to it in the cooler! I ordered the national Thai dish Pad Thai. It did not taste like Pad Thai. It was accompanied by egg rolls that were not very good versions of Chinese egg rolls. I cannot understand why another poster from Las Vegas gave this place 5 stars! I have been to Las Vegas and that city has many more authentic Thai restaurants than this one. I do not recommend this place as an example of a good Thai restaurant! I would not even recommend it as a Chinese restaurant! read more

First off this is more like Chinese trying to make Thai but forgot the Thai cookbook. They didn't understand the Thai words had to use numbers. Tom Ka gai was more lemon juice. Could not find any evidence of lemon grass or galangi. No Thai basil either. I should have brought my own in. Chicken satay...chicken was tendor..thin and overly salty. Peanut sauce was cold and tasted like some milk.water and a little peanut butter. It was nicely...terrible. had the red curry..more like coconut soup. There was zero spice in anything. I had asked for 4 to 5 star and they didn't understand. I asked for Thai spice and was brought Chinese hot oil. Even had Chinese paper place mats and fortune cookies. The food isn't bad but it isn't good and it isn't Thai that's for sure. The people running it are very nice and try hard. They need help for sure. read more

I've been trying to find a better Asian restaurant around here than this one but I just can't! I don't like keep on going back to the same restaurant but I can't help to come back to this one. The food is just too good! The dishes taste fresh and unlike many Asian restaurants, they don't taste too greasy. The menu is huge with both Chinese and Thai selections. Although like one reviewer mentioned, they don't have any Thai decorations, I definitely believe their Thai curries and stir-fries are authentic (I've also lived in Thailand before). The price is also amazing for the quality of food they serve. If you can look beyond the cliche decorations and the mismatched plates, you'll definitely like this place. read more

An unplanned surprise. I gave up finding a decent Thai restaurant here in Tucson until today. I've had my fair share of Asian dishes growing up in Southeast Asia. That being said, I know that the people behind the kitchen counter are authentic Thai cooks. I had their Thai Red Curry and it was tasty! None of the ingredients overpowered the other. The sauce was just the right thickness. I just wish they have the option for spiciness though. Nevertheless, it was something that made me remember my visit in Thailand long time ago. Btw, have a try with their Pad Thai. You can't go wrong with any of the selections. Not sure about their Chinese dishes though. I went traditional (American) with Sweet and sour pork and they are average at best (though it's not horrible). I will definitely be back. I might check their other Chinese dishes but as far as I can see from the menu, there's nothing special that caught my attention. When you walk in the door the decor screams of Chinese food. However this is a Thai / Chinese restaurant. I ordered off of the Thai menu, some curry dishes, and the sauces were AMAZING! We really enjoyed both, though the Tom Kha Gai had a little too much coconut milk that it overpowered the hot and sour aspects of the dish. Service was friendly though there were only 3 people working on a busy Saturday evening, which made juggling customers' orders, cooking, and answering the never ending phone ringing incessantly nearly impossible.
