My friend moved to the neighborhood recently and we both love Thai food so we decided on this restaurant. The inside was nice and clean, we were seated immediately at a window seat and although the restaurant was packed our order was taken immediately and the food was served very quickly. We decided to share Yellow Curry Chicken and Pad Thai with tofu, chicken and shrimp. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The curry sauce was so good, perfect amount of spice and the dish had a lot of chicken in it The Pad Thai was a little low on meat but it was so tasty that in the end it didn't really matter. Our waitress was attentive, refilled water, brought to go boxes and our bill in record time and didn't rush us to leave the restaurant. I think we might have stayed for two hours talking. We had lots of leftovers because the portions were big and we spent $20 each before tip. Although there are so many restaurants in that area to try we will go back to Thai Cafe. read more

This is my absolute favorite Thai place in Irvine. The pad see ew here can revive me from the dead. They've definitely raised their prices over the years but the portions here are HUGE. Love their pad see ew, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and tom yum soup. Tastes like love and home. Two downers here: when ordering to-go, something always seems to leak in the bag. We got the fried tofu appetizer, vegetarian fried rice, and eggplant basil dish. I've been to one place where the eggplant dish was too salty. Another place where the food was good but the server lady who's always there and always giving mean vibes, so my friends are too cowardly to say their order was wrong or etc. Here, I didn't really enjoy the fried tofu appetizer but everything else was delicious. If they can make vegetarian fried rice tasty, then I imagine the meat fried rice will be even better. Our server was nice and attentive. She came by enough times to fill my friend's glass of water (y'all don't understand, my friend is dry like a desert and sucks up lots of water lol). So overall, great food and good experience. Good food, poor service. Came here with a party of 3 on a Saturday afternoon around 1:40pm. It wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. We ordered a pad Thai with beef, green curry with chicken, a side of rice, and two Thai iced teas. The Thai iced teas came right away. Then we were ignored for the next 30 minutes. No one came by to check in, refill our waters, or apologize for the wait. We saw a bunch of people come in and order to go, and their food came out right away. After 40 minutes of sitting there, we finally managed to get someone's attention and we were told that our order was next. There was no apology or any sort. THIS PLACE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS. Shame on Yelp for not fixing this issue when the business owner called in to get this fixed. The business doesn't pay yelp any fees so maybe yelp is not helping them. I went to sign a receipt and they had a cup with sanitized pens and then a place to put the used pen so that they could sanitize those before another person used it. I hate to give bad reviews I really do but this place was a disappoint today. I came on a rainy Tuesday, there was 3 of us. Right from the start the lady wearing a pink shirt who sat us had an attitude she asked how many people and I said 3 we were still waiting on 1 person to arrive and she openly rolled her eyes at me, WTH well ok then. She took us to our table, we where then served by another server and she was a lot more professional. We ordered the spring rolls.. worst spring rolls I've ever had it came with 5 and half of them were cold it seemed like they microwaved them because they were lukewarm and cold, at least microwave them evenly SMH. We also ordered the Tom Yum Kai soup with the coconut milk and although it was good it was lukewarm they present it to us in a hot pot that is supposed to have a flame underneath to keep warm but it didn't seem like it was turned on. And lastly we had the fried rice and shrimp , that was just ok , it came with like six shrimp and lacked flavor and was on the greasy side. I had ordered from here very recently for a group hangout. I ordered the Pad Se Iw, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Chicken Satays. All in all, it was really delicious. My wife was also really happy with the food from this place. The quantity for our fried rice and pad se iw was incredible. They give you a good amount and it's enough for 2-3 meals, depending on how you eat. I really enjoyed the Pineapple fried rice, and highly recommend it. They even give you 2 fat shrimps with it.
