Everyone needs a go-to place for certain eats and if you live in the surrounding neighborhood, Thai Basil is surly your go-to for Thai. They deliver to you next door at Tops, genius. And after an evening of biking and many beers, Thai Basil is just what you need to wrap up the evening. Highly recommend Drunken Noodles with Steak at spicy level 3. Need more heat, adding drops of their chili sauce will kick it up! Their crispy springs rolls are some of the best I've ever had. Get two orders bc you'll want 12 instead of only 6. We walked in and ordered takeout and food came out quickly and was piping hot and delicious! read more

I ordered delivery and food was hot when it arrived however the quality was not great at all. The spicy fried rice has absolutely no spice and no flavor. The drunken noodles also had zero flavor and no spice. Both entrees were drenched in sesame oil and no unique taste. The overwhelming sesame oil ruined the dish and having no spice also took away from the entrees. read more

As a health and fitness Professional, I recommend the fresh rolls, an excellent snack for vegan and meat lovers alike. Paired with a cup of Tom Yum Soul its very satisfying as a mini meal. You cant go wrong with the Signature dish Thai Basil iof course, but the Drunken noodles are also in my list of favs! Love this place! I cant wait to enjoy the ambience again. read more

I'm in town for work and I love Thai! I ordered the Pad thai & also the fried rice. NOTE that the lunch dishes come with an egg roll but the dinner portions do not. I ordered delivery to my hotel through grub hub and it was great, I also went in store and the ladies were very nice. The mango sticky rice dessert with coconut cream is incredibly delicious.I've gone back for it this week twice! Clean establishment and nice service. read more

The food was great! I got chicken pad Thai and my friend got chicken curry. Both were really great! Very small portion, but we did not mind it. The service was very lackluster. I would definitely get it delivered, but not eat there. read more

Thai Basil - Pad Thai - Thai Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

The ONLY negative thing about this place is that it's in Tempe and I live in Peoria :( I have been going to this Thai Basil before YELP was around. I LOVE this place. The owner is a sweet woman who takes pride in her food. I always get the Peanut curry (Panang) but I have tried all their food. The flavors are always on point even though I can't handle spice they accommodate my wimpiness. Lol. Give this place a try. You'll love it. read more

Ordered hundreds of dollars of Thai food for 8 family members visiting town. After 1.5 hours the restaurant called us to tell us they only made half our order, and that we should cancel our order through doordash and order through Uber eats. Ruined everyone's entire night. Will NOT be trying to give them our business again. read more

Delicious food here. Love the green curry and the fried banana with coconut ice cream. Pad Thai was also good.

You are unable to place an order to-go seven minutes before they close. Or at least the woman who answered said no.

The Tom Kha coconut soup is amazing to go. I also ordered the pot stickers and spring rolls as an appetizer. Neither were good. They were both over cooked and hard and had little taste or filling. The sauce that comes with it is amazing though. The green chai tea hot is so good!! read more

Best Thai food in Phoenix. I always get the green curry which has the Thai basil spice. The Thai coffee is great too. This place is in Tempe and not in a pretentious area. Very good service! read more

Really Good Pad Thai with Shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the overall dish was delicious. The service was great and friendly.

Usually they have good food and portions, having to drive 25 minutes from home to them, is ok but today big disappointment, I ordered Papaya salad and it was more lettuce than papaya, no peanuts, only 2 shrimps. Never will I order this salad. read more

Thai Basil - Mostly lettuce, - Thai Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

For $8.95 your spring rolls should have more than only lettuce and 2 shrimp. Basil? Bean sprouts? Mint? Not worth the price. The pad tai was decent, but the shrimp salad was very bland. Wasn't a fan of the food. Definitely a relaxing atmosphere and had decent service. read more

Worst Pad Thai I've ever had. I order this frequently from other places and love it so much that I crave it regularly. Today we tried a new place and we were soooo disappointed. The driest, most bland dish I've ever had. And to make matters worse, when I called to ask why our dish was so off I was told that was impossible and that I must of never have had Pad Thai before and it that it had to be a Postmates issue, not theirs. Too bad, because based on the reviews we were really excited about a new Thai place. :( read more

This was the first time I ordered takeout from this place. I ordered this on the day of 9/7/22. As I was home eating I get half way done and see a shiny piece in it. At first it looked like tin foil or something like that. I pulled it out and it turned out to be a sharp piece of metal. If I would have put this in my mouth it could have stabbed me or broke a tooth. It's a hard piece of metal. I'm not sure how that could possible get in the food or where in a kitchen this could come from. Very disappointed and will not be returning or recommending this place. read more

Thai Basil on University Dr is absolutely delicious! When I lived closer to Tempe, it was one of the places I went to frequently, and I still make the drive to go there. I typically get the Panang Curry with chicken but also really like the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. Every time I've gone with someone else they've enjoyed their meal as well. The veggies they use always seem crisp & fresh, and the spice level is always on point. If you ask for mild, it really is mild, if you ask for hot, they really bring on the heat! My only note is that during lunch and dinner hours it gets really busy, and while they have parking in front of the restaurant, it fills up quickly. If you're going to get something to pick-up, I suggest going at an off-time so you don't run into any problems with that. Either way, the wait and parking pains are worth it! read more

I just pick up an order of drunken noodles With all due respect this is not drunken noodles just noodles with vegetables and I am very very disappointed doesn't look dentist it doesn't look like real tight food noodles with no color that I had to add spices to make it feel better Since the dishes so pale so obviously I will not recommend read more

The boys and I were out and about and as normal craving some Thai, we drove by Thai Basil and decided to give them a try. It was a Sunday night around 6pm and the place was steady not too busy, we were seated right away. Right off the bat we all ordered Thai Tea, we know what we like. The Thai Tea comes in some tall glasses and I just love the contrasting colors of the tea & cream till I swirl it and blend it all up! This Thai tea was delish too! We went with the crab puffs as starters; they were simple and good for starters. For my main dish I went with the massaman curry, Thai hot! it was chicken bathed in massaman curry with coconut milk, carrots, onions peanuts & potatoes and hit with some heat! It also is served with steamed jasmine rice. This dish was delish! It was creamy, hot and full of flavor! Service was great and friendly glad to have stopped by and given Thai Basil a try. read more

I consider this my regular go-to for green curry, it never fails to impress! I've tried other Thai places in Chandler and Scottsdale and this is by far much better. It tastes like they make their green curry all from scratch, very fresh and fragrant. Although the dining space is small it is intimate and the staff are always wonderful! 10/10 recommend! They also have great mango sticky rice! read more

My Thai roommate: "It gets my stamp of approval!" What impressed us was that the waitress was actually from Thailand! It definitely made my roommate reminisce about the delicious items she had in Thailand. We both shared the Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. Their yellow curry is my roommate's favorite curry. I usually love getting the Red Curry or Panang Curry. We still finished the yellow curry until there was nothing left! Next time I'll have to try their Green Curry. I was impressed with their size of Thai Iced tea! There was so much left over, we took a to-go-box home. Tip: Come with a bigger group of people so you can select more dishes and eat different types of food! Overall it's a great place to eat. Excellent customer service. read more

Thai Basil has literally never let me down. I never have to worry about a thing when I order from here. Always on time, always delicious.

Poor beggars stand over your head when writing a tip and would give you a look and be disrespectful in case they are not satisfied with the amount. Didn't expect an Eastern cuisine to be so much dependent on Western culture that they would annoy customers and make them rethink coming back! read more

Tried Thai Basil for the first time Sunday. It was amazing.. I ordered the Siamese Chowmein with a side of peanut sauce, (I don't what is in the peanut sauce exactly I only know it tastes like world peace). By far one of my best go to spots for Thai food. I have never taken pics of this food because we eat it all and like our plates clean as quickly as it arrives. If I could give them 0 starts I would. I have ordered here a bit but today my pad Thai had a SCREW at the bottom of my meal. I am so mortified and disgusted. I called the both locations and they blamed it on each other. Then the employee didn't say sorry or anything just that I could probably get my money back from postmates. I've never had such bad customer service at a restaurant. I will never be ordering from here again and no one else should either. This is a huge health code violation and they should be reviewed for such terrible cooking practices. read more

I have eaten at this location many times and always enjoyed it, but I don't think I'm willing to risk coming back after my last order of panang curry and pad thai; delivered by Postmates. The curry was SUGARY SWEET which I can not for the life of me understand why. It was completely inedible. The pad thai was alright, but seemed to have thicker noodles and less chicken than you receive at the Rural Rd location so the last few times that I have wanted Thai, I've gone there instead. I hate to have all of my positive experiences ruined by one really bad dinner, but I prefer to dine somewhere that is trusty and reliable with their dishes. read more

Food is amazing and service is very fast. Really enjoy the interior decor. Gommy is the best!!!

Solid Thai; like other reviewers, they can REALLY increase the level of their heat especially if ordered dishes to be Thai Hot. Unlike my previous review, I consider TB to be one of the better in town and have been back numerous times. read more

I have not been there for awhile, just had lunch there today and I was disappointed. It was hot, noisy, and the flavor of the food has gone down. What a bummer! I got the lunch special BBQ Pork, with fried rice, and a thai ice tea. Got the veggie soup, it was salty and very peppery. Ok, moving on to the lunch plate it was the same as before but the taste of the sauces is watered down or something, It was just not as flavorful as I remember! The egg roll was meh, diffent than the thai egg rolls I have had before at other places. The Thai Ice tea was the only thing that had good and strong flavor. Maybe it was a miss today? read more

Food-wise, I think this place may have deserved 2 stars. I'm from the Bay Area, and the Thai food there is delicious! The coconut soup wasn't what i expected-- the taste was okay, though a bit watery. I liked the lemongrass in it. then we had Rama's Favorite, which was basically beef with peanut sauce. more like peanut butter-- the peanut was overpowering. the WORST part was the food poisoning-- both my fiance and i subsequently got vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. i even had to bring him to the ER, it was so bad. I see Thai Basil is generally well reviewed here on Yelp, so maybe it was just an off day? but just warning you-- something we ate there was bad, and I think it was the Rama's Favorite. read more

We love this place however ordering through Uber eats and DoorDash has been horrendous!! They constantly have Been canceling our order for the past 3 orders we have placed. Othis place is totally awesome! It's a small place around University and Mill right by ASU so it get pretty busy... But man oh man! Parking was a b*tch... I guess we came during rush hour... But I got lucky and found a spot so everything was fine :) Service was great super fast and friendly staff. They refilled our water constantly too!! We got chicken pad thai and red curry chicken! Both mild haha.. I like the sweet and salty taste and a tiny hint of spice... Maybe one day I'll try a spicier kind.. But anyways.. Enjoyed it so much that I can't wait to eat my left overs!! I love pad thai! And the curry was pretty creamy tasting even if the soup it self doesn't have the creamy consistency.. Idk thai food is just kinda addicting lol... Totally just realized We forgot to order dessert :( but next time!! Can't wait to come back! 4 stars for parking!! Portions are family size and definitely for sharing!! read more
