This place is awesome! We ordered the seafood soup, thr chicken tom yum, pad sew and fried rice. Everything is delicious and tonsuch a high standard. Will definitely become a regular customer. Their service in the restaurant is fast and very attentive. Their portions are generous when eating in the restaurant. I suggest eating in to take out. read more

I used to love this place.. until tonight. Clearly stated on the slip, my order was placed at 6:16pm. I was told on the phone that it would be 20 minutes. So with being told that, I waited the 20 minutes and went into another store since I was only down the road. I walked in about 6:35pm and my order was not ready yet so I paid and sat down. I DIDN'T GET MY FOOD UNTIL 7:05PM. How ridiculous... I should of just dined in if it was going to take that long! On top of that, other customers who walked in AFTER me and ordered then and there got their food before I even did! They didn't even offer to comp my food for the long ridiculous wait. All I was offered was a drink which I did not want. And with all this said, I was late to class. If I had not already paid I would of just walked out. Such a waste of my time. read more

Thai Basil - Thai Near Me - Fullerton, California

We've lived in the area 20 yrs, and we love it here. Pad Thai, glass noodles, curry, satay: all are consistently good. Our most recent visit has prompted this review. I had the whole fried pompano in garlic and chili sauce. Now, I've never had a whole fried fish, bones and all, and there was a bit of a learning curve while eating. That said, this dish was really good. The staff is nice here, though the place gets enough of a local crowd that you should consider take-out. read more

Pad kra pao is great, as is the fried rice. I don't like ordering the pad thai or the kee mao because they are never spicy enough. Believe me, I've tried asking for "extremely spicy", 11/10, etc. The pad kra pao seems to retain the heat better, and the buttered fried rice is a perfect complement to the heat. I like to finish it all off with a thai tea. read more

This is my second visit to Thai Basil. Great food, simply delicious! But service wise, I am not that impressed. First time I visited with my 12 yr old daughter, she even felt that service wasn't good. Second visit, I didn't want to wait so I placed order online. Wait time indicated online was about 30-50 min. I placed order at 5:17 and got my food at 6:45. Saturday dinner time so I tried to understand but if they told me that the order didn't go through at the first place, I wouldn't have to wait in the restaurant for 30 min. Love their food but not sure whether I would like to go back. read more

This place is great! I always call ahead and order take out. Today I got the yellow curry lunch special which comes with rice, an egg roll, and a wonton, I highly recommend that! That was great. My boyfriend got pad see ew and we got a Tom yum soup to share. I will caution that if you like spicy food the food is extremely spicy! I got medium on the Tom yum and it is HOT! I really recommend this place! read more

Thai Basil - Tom yum soup, 67A. Yellow Curry Fried Rice with Chicken, Beef, Pork - Thai Near Me - Fullerton, California

I brought my family here for mother's day and the service here is great! They are efficient and attentive and the Pad Thai here is delicious! I would recommend that but I would honestly recommend anything because all of the food here is good and not limited to one or two items. Their yellow curry is good and I love to get their lunch special, which is available all day every day! Even on Mother's day or weekends, you can order the lunch special. I also love their mango sticky rice so I will definitely return for more of that. read more

SOUR SAOW What happened Thai Basil? Major changes have taken place. As subpar as the food was, the customer service was worse! By far, the worst food item we tried was the Kung Pao Trio-which is one of their featured Chinese dishes. If management were competent and at least somewhat creative-as a Thai restaurant, they would see an opportunity in their preparation of Chinese dishes to add some Thai flare or make some interesting changes to this traditional Chinese dish-Thai Basil failed in this regard. Not only was the flavor of the sauce very bland and worse than all Kung Pao I've ever had at Chinese restaurants, they put a hideous amount of water chestnuts in the dish-which wouldn't be found in actual Chinese Kung Pao. While we only found two small pieces of shrimp in the entire dish, water chestnuts were everywhere...tasteless and bland-used as cheap fillers to cut food costs and increase profits (at the customer's expense). Additionally, we noticed that although all of the dishes we ordered appeared to be large, Thai Basil puts a bed of cabbage underneath each dish to give the appearance of a larger portion, cut food costs and increase company revenue even though their prices are higher than most Thai restaurants...and again-ALL at the CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE! Saow was our server. We mentioned our disappointment with the Kung Pao and her customer service skills couldn't have been more incompetent. Saow was completely awful. She didn't offer another dish, She didn't apologize. Saow instead asked in a condescending tone, "First time you order this?" I'm thinking Uh, no! I have had Kung Pao many times. However, this is the first time I have been extremely disappointed with abnormally bland and improperly prepared Kung Pao. By this experience, my friend and I will not return to this restaurant, as it is clear they are stealing from their guests by using cheap fillers and very poor customer service! I recommend Crispy Pork Gang. Stay away! If you need further convincing, bring your attention to their lousy health department inspection: Standard not met: Demonstration of knowledge Standard not met: Wiping cloths: properly used and stored Standard not met: Food contact surfaces: clean and sanitized Standard not met: Food storage; food storage containers identified Standard not met: Food separated and protected Standard not met: Equipment/Utensils - approved; installed; good repair; capacity read more

When this place is good... it's great Only a couple misses in all the years we've been going .

Clean reasuraunt style place. Booth and table seating. Food has flavor and is good. They are skimpy on the seafood. I ordered Pinapple fried rice with Chicken and shrimp $15, came with only 1 shrimp. Its a little pricey. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant, so I don't have much to say. Just one thing that bothered me was that the panang didn't come with rice. Imagine ordering ramen with no noodles, a burger with no buns, or even a teriyaki shop with no rice in the chicken bowl. Does that make any sense? Maybe I'm just a complainer, but I really think it would be weird to order curry chicken or beef at any restaurant and it didn't automatically come with rice or some sort of carb. It would make a lot of sense if it already came with rice and if I told them to not include rice and they ended up charging me the same amount. We did order spicy shrimp noodles as well and the size of the shrimp were really big, so that was the one good thing about this restaurant. read more

Overcharge me because they print " price will change without notice"! They server do not admit is her fault made the wrong order so said we are working on the new menu so all the price were increased .That is ridiculous excuse!!! So all your prices on the current menu were FAKE???? Then she can't make up her lie anymore, explain to me she put the wrong item instead of lunch special. Pineapple curry with roasted chicken, where is the roasted chicken??? She said oh we change to chicken breast and forgot to tell. Another excuse!!! Then I ask drunk noodle why all the noodle sticky together like a dough? She said oh sometime drunk noodle look like this. OMG this is the most ridiculous restaurant I ever been, trying to foolish customer using stupid excuses!!!!!!!!!! Seriously I need write this review to let everyone know how incredible they are. Good luck! read more

I felt like this review is long overdue bc this is more of a hazardous situation. I guess since our last experience, we just haven't come back but I just came across my 5 star review and thought "I'm a fraud" bc I don't come here anymore so here's my update. I've been a regular here for many years but had the most dangerous experience several months ago via DoorDash. I wish I had taken pictures but when I tell you I legit am so dumbfounded how a wood chip landed in my pad see ew and one of those small spikes ended up in my husband's pad thai is beyond me. I thankfully found the wood chip before putting the heaping bite into my mouth, so I just ended up throwing it away but a few minutes later, my husband just shrieks something cut him. Turned out to be a small round spikey ball you find in some plants / vegetables. Idk exactly where it came from but we were just so glad he didn't swallow that thing. He threw it away and I yelled at him since I wanted to take a pic for proof. Whatever, it is what it is. Regardless, it happened. I have no other complaints about this place other than this one experience....BUT it only takes an experience like this to lose us as customers unfortunately. Super dangerous and I hope this hasn't / never happens to anyone else bc that's the last thing you want to choke on. read more

Pad see wee-taste amazing! Full flavor, not blah as some restaurants do. Noodles fresh, not broken up into pieces. I asked for spicy, and spicy it was. Shrimp was big and plump. But hey, where's the Chinese broccoli and eggs? read more

Normally I love this place. Foods is great but this waitress needs to go. I don't know who this bitch is but she acted like she too good for her job. She recommended to us something that was terrible. The bamboo curry. Do not get that. Also she has a really bad attitude. And I think that I would rather pack my own food to go. She brought containers that were too small and spilled the curry all over the table and left a bunch still in the bowl. YOU'RE FIRED !!!!! read more

This is another example of me not trying a place for years, until I'm ready to leave the area... We decided to try this place one night after always saying, "we should try this place!" Well we finally did, and I am almost more sad that we just found this place compared to how good it actually is. I ordered the chicken satay and yellow chicken curry - girlfriend ordered the orange chicken. The chicken satay is probably top 3 that I've tried. Every time I go to a thai food restaurant, I ALWAYS try the chicken satay to test and compare to other restaurants, so this place being in the top 3 is big time. The chicken is excellently marinated with the coconut milk and seasoning, and the peanut sauce that comes with the dish is also exquisite. The only complaint about this dish is the amount of chicken on each skewer, but it is still a well-sized portion. Next is the yellow curry. Excellent flavor, perfect spice and flavor. The chicken is moist and has soaked up the curry to give it the flavor of the rest of the dish. Again, top yellow chicken curry that I've had before. My only negative comment about the curry is the potatoes. They are a little hard, compared to what I've had before. They should do something different to allow the potatoes to soak in the curry more or cook them a little more thoroughly first, before they mix them into the curry. Other than that, EXCELLENT thai location. Lastly, while I get mad that she orders orange chicken from a thai food restaurant, the orange chicken is delicious. Excellent flavor and also crispy. read more

Food is average. Fried rice is okay, wontons weren't that great, barely anything in it, it was more like a chip. Probably wouldn't come back. read more

I ordered pad Thai with beef (spice level 8). I was so surprised at how delicious and moist the noodles were. There was a ton of flavor and the spice enhanced the dish. The beef was also not dry which I enjoyed. This has become my top pad Thai restaurant and I will definitely be coming here again. The price was around $11 which is average for most pad thai places. However, they don't give a large portion but for the price, it's decent! Quality over quantity! read more

Believe the ratings... don't do like me and come despite the reviews. This place is absolutely bad. The food is truly mediocre with no real taste and the chicken is horrible. Absolutely wonderful Thai food. My wife is Thai and we both like this restaurant the best among all we have tried in the US. We live in Dallas but always eat here when visiting family in the area. read more

We sent in a huge food order last night for almost $200. They wouldn't give us extra prik nam pla like I asked, my brother in law loves spicy stuff and so did most of the people over. They told me they would have to charge me money for more which was crazy because I had already paid a ton and given a generous tip even though I was picking it all up. Such BS. Now the thing that pissed me off the most is we had ordered about 15 different items and they DIDN'T LABEL A THING FOR 15 items!!! Ahhhh!!! And guess what I had a couple vegetarians over who accidentally ate meat because NOTHING WAS LABELED!!! We will never go here again, especially because the food wasn't even that great, except for that delicious Crab Fried Rice. Now that dish was to die for, on the other hand the crispy noodles were soggy. If you like bad service and food that is so-so then enjoy but I don't think anyone wants that. I wish that I could get some sort of refund so if you are reading this and you have that ability please contact me. read more

Came here for lunch yesterday with 4 adult and 3 kids. The service here is pretty bad. They don't want to take your order. They were busy but we waited patiently and had to ask several times for them to take our orders. The food came out pretty fast after we ordered. The portion for lunch is small. The prices range from $9 to $12 for lunch special. It does come with soup, egg roll and a fried wonton. I think it was the owner who was the only one who came and asked us if we needed anything else with a smile. Our waitress did not even refill our water. Overall the food was good but they tagged on 15% on my credit card for tips. I then understood why they did not need to provide good service since they will charge you for their 15% tips any way. I don't mind paying for tips but their service was just horrible. read more

I love this place the service is great and the male waiter is nice and he likes to joke around but always with respect.

Absolutely amazing food and staff. I have been going for years and have not had anything on the menu that i dislike.

We love Thai Basil at our house! My daughter specifically requested it for her 12th birthday over the weekend. Great service and great food!

Thai Basil is literally the best!! I hadn't been in many years and it was better than i remembered! I ordered pad thai, orange chicken, mango sticky rice and a thai tea...the food was prepared in a timely manner and when I picked it up (like 20 min after they said it was ready) everything was still warm and fresh. The prices and portions are great and we had plenty left over. Can't wait to order again very soon! read more

First time, probably last time...I'm trying to find a good Thai restaurant... The Tom Kha Gai soup was too salty, all of us that had it, agreed. I was pretty disappointed about it. Also, there were big pieces of lemongrass. I don't know if you're supposed to eat them, but they're as hard as wood, so I had to spit them out. Next! read more

alright food, the meat was a little too fatty for me but the thai tea was good ! only other thing was that the restaurant was kind of small so if you come when it's busy it will for sure be crowded read more

The reason for 3 stars instead of 4 was that I was not in love with the appetizers we got. We got the fried wontons and the angel wings. I wasn't impressed with the flavors. I come here a lot with my family! My parents are vegetarian and this spot has a variety of flavorful food options for them. Today, I ordered for pick up. I eat a lot of asian food and rice usually comes free with curry (and other non-noodle dishes).. But they charged me $2.10 for a side of rice with my pineapple curry. It made me feel kinda ripped off read more

My friend and I have loyally eaten here for 3 years now solely because their food is absolutely amazing and authentic. However, the service here is ridiculous! We spent 20 minutes standing at the register waiting to order for take-out... not for being seated, but for TAKE-OUT. We were ignored for the entire time that we stood there. Then, my friend confronted the woman working the front desk only to be told that we would have to wait at least an hour and a half to be served. THEN, we went home and ordered from uber eats because the app told us that it would take just a little over thirty minutes. It has now been 2 hours :-)!! We've always had an issue with the service but have just never felt that complaining was worth it until now. The food is always slow to come out the the waiters take their time to provide service. read more

This review is for the "Order For Pick Up" option through Yelp. Why even have an option to select a pick up time when they don't even start cooking the order until you arrive? I'm literally writing this review as I sit here waiting on my takeout. I've ordered takeout online and had to wait at least 45 min till it was ready for pick up. As soon as I got here. Basically it's really really really difficult to order out / do pick up from here. You pretty much have to go in person. During the Covid shut down they had horrible impossible service. Grub hub or some other third party screwed it all up. It's just as bad now that everything is open. You can't call them ahead of time because their system is down or they don't accept calls or some.other BS. We tried maybe 7 or 8 times with one success.
