Really good curry and absolutely love the Pad See Ew!! Service is excellent and it is a comfortable location to eat some Thai food.

As someone who is of half Thai descent, I would rate this place a 4/5. Obviously nothing beats having a home cooked meal and the next best thing when I can't is this place. A few recommendations I have are the Thai Omelette, Pad Ped, and the Pad Kee Mo noodles. When it comes to an establishment whose cuisine is as amazing as this, I personally am indifferent about service. Although I personally have never had a bad experience service wise here. My actual issue is the disrespect of the staff I see from CUSTOMERS. I have seen things from someone walking up to a staff member and TAPPING THEM on the shoulder to be seated from impatient people using rude tones during the staff. I have noticed this on several occasions during my visits to this establishment. So a note to those of you who were raised on a barn and had parents that were incompetent and couldn't teach them simple etiquette towards other people especially the hard working staff. A pretty delicious Thai restaurant. My husband got the pad thai togo, and he loved it so much. He finished it so fast. I also dined at the restaurant and had the pad see ew, which is very good as well. I tried a noodle dish with ground chicken for the first time there, and it was so good! I was pleasantly surprised. I've ordered takeout from this place multiple times. I usually order soup and pad Thai but the fried tofu and sautéed Chinese broccoli aren't bad either. Not sure if I like it because it's actually really good, or if it's just super convenient (close to home) and the only Thai restaurant in the area. Modest neighborhood eatery in busy strip mall. The greeting, or lack thereof, could use a little work, but overall this was a solid choice for quick, casual Thai food. We started with $2.75 Chang beers (special pricing all the time). One of us ordered the cashew nut chicken dinner combo. The entree portion wasn't big, but it came with soup, egg rolls, wontons and rice, so it was plenty of food. We also ordered a combination fried rice and chicken pad Thai. The soup's broth was clear but savory. The wontons and egg rolls were also good. The cashew chicken was tender and flavorful with a hint of spice (requested 3 out of 10). The rice dish was good, if maybe a little heavy on the oil. The pad Thai was well-seasoned and delicate. The one thing I wish they did was use white meat for their chicken. My friends and I frequently come here since we live close by. The food is very good and you can never go wrong with pad thai although there are many other dishes that will do you right. If you have the chance, try their wings since they are very underrated, one of the best i have tried. I would also give their special platters a go if you are in to try something new. This place! Wow. It's hard to find a good Thai place especially in a city like Fullerton which is a college town first and foremost, and not a foodie specific city like Downtown Los Angeles. But hey, the last time I came here, I ordered fish cakes, which tastes very homemade. You can see the mint and green onion in the cake itself. It is served with a sweet/salty/spicy fish sauce that is mixed down with chili seeds, and cucumbers that have a healthy texture balance between crunchy and soft. Ordered the massaman curry and it also has texture variety. There's the crunchy peanuts, the soft potato (which is sliced with a serrated knife I think for even more texture), and a delicate balance between sweet, salty and spicy. I ordered it at a five and paired with white rice. Finished with mango sticky rice to go. All in all very good. See attached photos. On past occasions I've also ordered the larb ghai which is basically a chicken salad served with thick cabbage slices to hold the meat salad together. Also very good. Tom Kah Talay soup! Shrimp Spring Rolls! Chicken and Beef Pad Thai! These three items on the menu are my favorite and I'm in love! I can't even describe the taste of the soup! It's just delicious! It comes with shrimp, fish, scallops, calamari and clams! Oh dear sweet baby Jesus! It's just lovely! On a spice level... I get it at a 6 and it's not hot at all!(Just to give an idea of the spiciness!) I still add some chili in there but that's because I just need to have heat! All else is really good too! Shrimp Spring Rolls are always an enjoyment! :) Three per order and comes with that peanut sauce that I have come to love! The Pad Thai has been really tasty too (PEANUTS IN THIS DISH) They do offer lunch specials but I'll be honest and say I haven't been here for lunch! The service has always been good, very friendly! I have had to ask for items but it doesn't bother me! They do bring it right away! My order took about fifteen minutes to get to our table on a Friday evening which I don't think was bad at all! Plenty of parking! I do think your kids can take in food from other restaurants but I'm not sure(I've seen families do it with my own two eyes)! We had take out spring rolls from Thai Basil today, and loved them! The only thing I would do differently is call ahead to save time. Thai's menu says it prides itself on making everything fresh ... isn't most Thai cuisine done that way?, and our 4 spring rolls ($30) were a great example of that approach. Crunchy where it's supposed to be, and tender likewise in the right places. Flavor is on the light side, but freshness and hand crafting trumps that solitary negative. Not being Thai myself, I asked the lovely staff what menu items are best for hands and take out, and sadly I was given a menu. My wife and I had a dentist appointment today for cleanings so I figured we needed to dirty them back up with some food. Since this place is pretty close we went here. As always this sadly reviewed place on yelp was perfect in both food and service. I've been eating here for years and have never once had a bad experience with food or service so it really surprises me that there are so many bad reviews. To start we had some beef satay. The beef was tender with no chewy pieces. It was nicely marinated and had nice grill marks. It's served with a sweet peanut sauce and some chopped up pieces of cucumber and peppers. For my entree I had my favorite dish here, the chicken larb. As described in my previous review it's a "salad" of ground chicken (or pork/beef) mixed with mint leaves, onion, roasted ground rice, and chili lemon sauce. It's served with green cabbage. I've tried all three meats and the chicken really works the best with this dish. I also like topping it with these little slices of pickled green chilies you can ask for. My wife had the salmon pa-nang. The salmon is battered and fried, topped with a red coconut curry. Salmon is a fish I hate.... it literally makes me dry heave. Yet this place uses some Thai magic to perfectly balance that "salmon" flavor with the spicy curry. It's delicious! Check this place out.... I have no clue if it's "authentic" or not since I'm not Thai and have never been to Thailand.... but it's some damn good eats! read more

Four Party Trays: - Beef and Chicken Skewers - Pineapple Fried Rice - Tofu Pad Thai - Beef Salad Tina's Tips and Tantrums - Cousin prepaid before and they had it ready for pick up. Staff was super friendly, making jokes and all. - $30-35 per tray - Everything was presented nicely - Skewers were on point, very juicy with the peanut sauce and the cucumber sauce (I don't know what it was made of, but it was tasty) - Pineapple fried rice, no bueno and also because I'm not a big fan of pineapple - Pad Thai was alright, tofu was soft, but rather oily - Beef Salad was delicious! Probably one of the best Thai restaurants I tried. Ordered fried rice combination and Pangang curry. THE BEST COMBO for a meal. The food was fresh and delicious!! Keep up the good work. Will be back for some more. The team also made sure the regulations for COVID was properly implemented. Felt pretty safe. Attention to detail. I ordered take-out online. I ordered Satay chicken and Panang chicken. The order was ready when promised, the employees were pleasant and efficient, and the portions were very generous for what they charge. No complaints with any of those things. So why did I only give three stars? Because I had asked for the panang to be made "mild/no spice". When I got to where I was going to eat, I discovered that someone had interpreted "no spice" to mean "hell in a bowl". The food was so extremely spicy I simply could not eat it. I brought it home to my wife, who loves extra spicy food, and it was even too hot for her. The Satay was excellent, as was the obviously home-made peanut sauce, so I'm sure had the panang been prepared as I'd ordered it, it too would have been excellent. Attention to detail is an important thing that can make or break an experience. I was disappointed in mine. If I'm ever back in Fullerton and in the mood for Thai, I might give this place another chance, but I'll definitely try the food before driving away next time. UPDATE: I changed my review to four stars after Edie, the owner of Thai Basil, reached out to apologize. In a time when most businesses take their customers for granted, it is wonderful to see an owner who still takes pride in providing good service. Really lacking. I paid $12 plus tip for a small serving of red chicken curry, comes in a small container that's not even filled. There's more bamboo shoots than chicken in the curry, barely any peppers, no balance. Rice is $2 extra for a small single serving. I've been to this plaza plenty of times. However, if my coworker had not recommended this place, I do not think I would have given it much notice. Restroom nice and clean! FOOD Silly to not get Pad Thai or Pad See Ew Noodles but there will be a next time! I got the Crispy Chow Mein which came in a pretty generous portion. It came with vegetables (corn, spinach, carrot, bamboo) and your choice of meat. The beef was nice and tender. The boyfriend tried the lunch special which we both weren't a fan of. This is ridiculous because when we went there today, we went as 7 people. However, the problem was they included and charged each of us 20% tip without telling us, so we were overcharged. When we called to ask why we were overcharged, they said it is because 7 people are considered a "big party."" We go here often cause the food taste good, but after this experience, this is ridiculous. Basically, they will overcharge you without telling you which this is very ridiculous. Adding to that they also charged us "serving fee" which means they charged us because they were serving for 7 people.
