First they now have joined the the poke bowl place next door. Excellent idea. We had a poke bowl, ramen and sizzling beef. Everyone was happy and it was reasonably priced. Portion size was fine. All were satisfied and this could be in the normal rotation. Give it a try.

$10 Wonton soup

Decent Thai food. We got the Drunken Noodle - medium spicy was not too crazy, but good flavor. Thai Rama was a bit bland. The $10 wanton soup was crazy expensive - it's a pint of soup (mostly broth)! The spring rolls were good (3 for $10). Overall, portions were small for the amount we paid but that's 2024 I guess.

I was recommended to try this place out! I literally love like 5 minutes away and I can't believe I've never tried Thai Ashburn before! Since my first visit, this place has been my go to whenever I'm craving Thai food. Food is pretty good compared to other thai restuarants I've tried, and the prices are affordable ~ what a steal! I highly recommend their Crispy Basil Duck, Tom Yum Soup, and Panang Curry!

Ordered take out from here as we thought we should try it out. Food was excellent and flavorful. Got the Spicy basil fried rice, crispy basil duck and madman curry. If you don't want it very spicy ask them to do medium on the fried rice. Glad to have found a good Thai place. Will definitely order again

I frequent this restaurant and have never been let down. I always get the same thing pad Thai with chicken spicy level 1 and on occasion I add spring rolls. I have tried pad Thai at three places in the area and this is the best I've ever had. They give you generous portions. I need to branch out and try other things on the menu but I'm always in the mood for pad Thai. You won't be disappointed by this restaurant.

After a nice trip to the animal farm with my family, we decided to search for a Thai restaurant to eat at, and came across this wonderful quiet place. Well for starters we presented the veggie Spring rolls with sweet sauce, then placed the order for our entrees which we liked tremendously. Especially my lemongrass & coconut taste soup...WoW!!! The texture, and taste of the food was delish, and to end it all we choose to go with the sticky mango rice and coconut ice cream. The waitress was very hospitable and so was the bus boy who also attended to us. As a reminder they do offer a 10% military and veteran discount. Woohoo!

(Really, when I checked in on Swarm, it had been 13 years since my last visit. Now we're going every month or so.) While I noticed some updating--there's more wood paneling, and the menu is sleeker, for lack of a better word--the restaurant still has a warm, friendly vibe with sunflower imagery throughout. The menu is a twist on Asian food, with plenty of analogues, chunks of soy and/or wheat protein, and some vegetables. It's not all vegan--a few dishes have dairy and/or honey, and I suspect one of the noodle dishes uses egg noodles--but those items are clearly marked. We were last there on Thanksgiving and tried a few new things. The veggie kabob reminded me a bit of the kabob at the late, lamented Harmony Cafe in Georgetown. Sure, I'll get that again. I'm not so sure about the mushroom dish. I do love mushrooms, but perhaps this isn't the way to go about it. On prior visits, we've gone with old familiars. The fried "chicken" appetizer (chunks of soy protein and mushrooms fried and served with a spicy ketchup) are a classic. I am still trying to find my go-to entree. Maybe the Crispy Happiness (chunks of soy protein and shredded vegetables cooked mild)? It's a bit far from DC, but it is worth the trip.

There are many restaurants that claim to offer street food, but this one appears to take the…read moreconcept quite seriously and has a menu with pretty much exclusively things that would be considered in that category. It was busy even in the middle of the afternoon. While, I would've been happy to see their rendition of one of the classics, I wanted to try something new and I cannot remember ever having had a misal pav, which is a sprouted, mung bean curry served with bread. They warned me that it would be spicy and it did have a decent kick. The bread was just enough to make the whole thing a finger food without needing any utensils. I also got a robustly spiced Samosa and some unsweetened chai. Come here, turned out to be a good decision for me because there are certainly times when I want and eat food, but do not want a giant meal. That being said ordering a couple of dishes here could get indulgent very quickly.

Taste, quality, value…read more Overall 4.5/5 I want to preface by saying that I don't generally give out 5 stars easily. However, my experience with Chaatwala surely deserved it. Food (1.75/2) - Majority of what we tried, we loved. I enjoyed the Chhole stuffed kulcha, chili paneer, Dahi puri, and Vada Pav. My kids liked the milder noodles. But the Puri Bhalla Chaat was something I could skip. I could see many places for improvement but for what this place offers, it is great. It's not trying to be fancy and so it's not charging you those prices. Prices seem fair and makes the food worth it. I would come back to try more varieties of their street food along with stuffed parathas and dosa/idli. Drinks (1/1) - Fresh juices and masala soda were on point. Perfect combination with the street food indulgence. They definitely were refreshing. However, I was disappointed with the masala chai that seemed watered down and lacking masala flavor. Decor (0.75/1) - Setting could be improved. There are fairly good art works on the walls and the tables. Reminiscent of India, they even have a chalk board with menu items. However, they can definitely improve by doing something with the drinks corner which seems dull and uninviting. Service (1/1) - now this place is not a fancy dining place at all. There aren't even people bringing the food to you. You have to go up, place an order, and wait until they call your name. However, they make it really easy to order, eat, and enjoy. You go to the front, put your order in and go back to your table. But they are really fast at preparing your order and the wait is very low even when the place is packed. After you are done eating, if there are any leftovers, they have kept to go boxes and utensils for you to pack it up your self. All the food is brought to you in compostable plates so once you're done, just throw it in the trash without worrying about the impact.

The bartender was very sweet and understanding when we sent back 3 out of 4 of our dishes. Damn True Food has gone down hill in recent years. The cauliflower to start came out cold, with some strange orange sauce they claimed to be "tahini" but it tasted more like plastic. Sent it back and asked for a chia pudding instead. You wanna know what that was like? 4 day old refrigerated lumpy water that tasted like a combination of everything that was also in the fridge. Then the southwest tofu scramble left me floored. Cold again, but the plate was hot. Micro much? For a place that claims to prioritize good food, ingredients and be intentional about it all, it left me feeling a little sick. Never going back.

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again
