Chicken Momo in chili sauce
Carly C.

Beautifully decorated and nice ambiance. The service was very friendly, if not a bit slow. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful.

Malpuwa
Trisha P.

I just went on a flavor adventure and I don't think I can look at life the same way anymore. Buckle up because this is gonna be a long review: Every dish we ordered was divine yet so different in flavor. I started with the Goat Bhutan: - the menu says fried crispy, which can be confusing to the American brain when you see it. Don't think breaded and fried with dry spices, think more stir-fry for the cooking style reference point. It consists of the majority of goat internal organs (intestines, liver, lungs, stomach, and I think heart) and is sautéed in Nepalis wet seasonings. It's gamey, but not as gamey as deer. I'd say it's somewhere between deer and rabbit. They do a phenomenal job at not overcooking the intestines to the point it's rubbery, and the flavor of those balances out the iron/gamey-ness of the liver. Amazing dish overall! Next up is the buffalo momo, jhol styled: - super tender meat and again cooked to a perfect texture. The wrapper was thick enough to withstand the sauce and never got soggy (I tend to eat slow so this matters to me), and the sauce tasted like there was tomato, lemon, cumin, and turmeric, as well as some other spices. The combination of tomato and lemon was really interesting, it was like a sour taste but leaned more towards acidic and worked really well with the buffalo momo. Then came the chicken momo, chili styled: - the closest thing I can compare this to is sweet and sour sauce but nowhere near as thick or sweet. Again I've never had Nepali food and am just mind blown at the flavors. If you're not as adventurous I would highly recommend starting with this dish, it's a gentle introduction to the cuisine and will not fail you. And for dessert, we had malpuwa: - the best way to describe this to someone with an American pallet is a funnel cake that's not too sweet (in fact it's barely sweet, which I think is perfect). The cardamom is a nice touch, and the flavors seep out as you let it cool but don't let it cool too much! You probably won't have that issue though, despite being stuffed we still finished all 4. The ambiance is beautiful and feels deeply steeped in Nepalese culture, the service is amazing and the staff was kind and answered every question we had, as well as giving us a heads up on certain flavor profiles since we were new to the cuisine. Definitely will be back, such amazing food and overall amazing experience!

A friend and I decided to check this place out after seeing a Tiktok! When you walk, the restaurant is decorated quite nicely and feels kinda fancy. Our server was friendly and gave us some great recommendations. Pork Momo: (5/5) This was absolutely delicious!!! I would get this again. The momo is like a dumpling and the inside was quite juicy. The skin also had a nice bite to it. Makhmali Chicken: (4/5) The server said this was kinda like butter chicken and it did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and the curry was thick and creamy. Definitely would come back if I visited the area again.

Great experience! Exceptional service and the food was very tasty. We liked the Street Food Sizzler! We even ordered an extra dish to take home for the next day. We also loved the physical space. Very clean and the motif was welcoming.

Amazing flavors and aromas. Good service. Reasonable prices for the quality and portion sizes. There's lots of like about the Roadhouse Momo & Grill. Loved the pork momo. Savory pork dumplings with a mixture of Nepalese spices wrapped in a nice pasta. The dipping sauce was also very tasty and similar to a curry. Also recommend checking out the chicken bara: a savory Nepali pancake made from ground black lentils, topped with spiced minced chicken. A real good mix of flavors and textures. Wine list is short but solid. Full bar and cocktail options available. Online orders and reservations can be made via the website https://www.rhmomo.com/store/

Good food, good tea, and great people. The first time I came here was when they opened and I'm glad to still see them around.

Chicken momo jhol

Me and my husband love this place. The mango lassi is a yummy treat. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my go-to is the chicken momo's jhol style with a side of their spicy sauce (it's spicy!!) The staff is so friendly and attentive. You won't be disappointed.

Have been here 3+ times. Usually stop by after solidcore in the area. Would probably give 4.5 if I could stars but definitely not 4. I have tried Chicken sekuwa: delicious, juicy and flavorful! The chicken wings were good as well but I would stick with the sekuwa. Tried the chicken momo, it was good and flavorful but not my favorite. Tried the chicken chilli and the flavor was great just pretty heavy dish as it taste deep fried. With friends I have also tried makhmali chicken and chicken curry. They are both delicious!! Makmali is a bit thicker and curry is closer to a soup consistency. The service is great, very helpful with the menu. It can be slower at times due to servers but never longer than 30 minutes for food. The drinks are very creative and yummy as well. The restaurant is also very cute , beautiful decor and very cozy. Will definitely be back again.

Chicken Chowmein

Ambience : Lovely interiors with spacious seating. One of the best interiors in the area. They have cute embossing of their restaurant name on literally everything you touch. Waiters are very quick on feet and patient. We got some very nice suggestions from them Food: My review is based on 3 visits to this place. I must say they are consistent with their dishes. Chicken chowmein is our absolute favorite. I must say it's best to stick with spicy. We asked for very spicy once and could barely eat. Chowmein has a very authentic taste! Chatamari is the second best in our list. Very unique and quite filling. We had both fried momos and steamed momos both with chicken, nothing to complain here. They were delicious. The chicken burger is not too bad but I don't think I will try that again. Chilli chicken was a little sweet for my liking. We also tried their dessert Jeri swari, I felt the flat bread was too oily. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. Definitely impressed by this place. Parking: there is always ample parking in the common parking lot.

This is my very first experience with Nepalese food, and it won't be my last! I had no idea what a momo was, and it is a delicious dumpling. I shared that with my husband and he got the goat curry! His curry was so tender and the broth very delicious. Note we got the hot sauce for the dumplings and it was HOT! It will light up your taste buds, without a doubt. I loved it! Sorry for not having other food photos, but we were hungry, intrigued and anxious to try everything. You won't be disappointed! The beauty of NoVA is the ability to try far away foods and experience it first hand! We liked several things on the menu and will return to try more!

I'll say it loudly - best service around. They are very concerned about the spices and allergies. He also guided us well. Food is good, genuine and elevated. We sampled a number of dishes all were very unique. Why did I not give them a 5? It's a 4.5. One reason was the momos - good but there is a gas station in Dulles better and the chilly buff was tough - tasty but real tough.

Finally got around to visiting this place, kicking myself for not coming here sooner. It's beautiful, really nicely decorated. The owners could not be more wonderful and helpful, explaining everything on the menu. Being a first timer to Nepalese food, I appreciated it. I had the khana set which is made up of several small dishes of vegetables, and I choose chicken. All served with rice. My wife had chowmein which was incredible, very different firm what you get at a Chinese restaurant. Wait ! Save room for jeri swari, a fantastic dessert, kinda like funnel cake meets taco. Will be back soon.

The bar area is big and spacious, and usually sitting at the bar means better, more attentive service. The place was mildly busy, so I expected things to run smoothly -- but that wasn't the case. Right from the start, the bartender wasn't very attentive. We had to ask multiple times just to place our order. For appetizers, we tried the Goat Buttan and the Wild Boar -- we wanted to explore some of the unique delicacies on the menu. Both dishes were interesting, and the Goat Buttan and Wild Boar were actually pretty solid. Unfortunately, the service continued to be an issue. We had to flag the bartender again just to order our entrées and even for simple water refills. We ordered the Mutton Taas and the Yak Chili. The Yak Chili was very good, but the Mutton Taas was extremely dry -- like eating cardboard -- and lacked flavor. Throughout the night, our bartender was constantly absent. More than once, we had to ask another bartender to get his attention so we could get basic service. After finishing our meal, we ordered a dessert, the Gulab Jamun. The presentation looked nothing like the picture -- more like a sloppy drop of pudding -- and the taste was just as disappointing. And again, we had to flag down another bartender because ours was nowhere to be found. Service overall was lackluster, and the tip options started at 20% with no 18% choice. For the level of service we received, 15% would have been more appropriate. I won't be returning anytime soon unless I'm specifically craving their unique delicacies -- which is once in a blue moon.

It's inside a Liberty gas station right off Little River Turnpike (used to be John Mosby Highway), and from the outside you'd never expect there to be a hidden gem there. I tried the steamed chicken momo, chili chicken momo, and fried chicken momo. My favorite was probably the steamed chicken momo, but the other two were still interesting to try. There's also a Krunch Chicken connected to the momo spot, and honestly the fried chicken was my favorite part of the whole meal. It was super juicy and reminded me of Jollibee because the seasoning actually had flavor on the inside too, not just the outside. I got the 3-piece combo which came with a side of your choice, and a sweet biscuit for around $13. The gravy was super hot which i really liked and the biscuit reminded me of cornbread because of the texture. I spent around $50 total for the three momo orders and the chicken combo. I'd definitely come back for the fried chicken, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for the momos again. Also, the gas station itself is kind of like a mini 7-Eleven -- they sell snacks, beer, wine, ice, etc.

Our friends who dined with us tonight traveled to Nepal three times - and tonights meal was spectacular. The chef sent out a course of sel roti with mooli ko achar and trust me -- the deep fried sel roti with the tanginess of the radish pickle in mustard sauce was a great start. Our dinner order was enough for 4 - with a few boxes of leftovers for tomorrow. First course/appetizers we had the crispy kale and the momo (chickened and vegetarian- both were equally delicious). For our main courses, we had the lamb chops( 3 generous and succulent chops) , the tandoori combination ( both lamb and chicken) along with the Aloo cauliflower/potatoes in curry. We also had an order of garlic naan and regular naan. Two of us had a spectacular cocktail that was rimmed with cayenne! The cocktail was great, but we were both caught a little off guard by the heat of the cayenne. For dessert we had the Rasmali - a cheese based dessert that was a lovely ending . Service was attentive , the music lively but set at a perfect volume for ambiance and conversation and timing between courses perfect. We were never hurried or left without attention. They have this perfectly orchestrated. Our Bethesda friends? They'll drive to Arlandria again thats for certain! Great meal, authentic food, fantastic service and a good value.
