Thai 7 Bistro in downtown Brea is a decent option if you're in the area. The food is okay--not the best or most authentic Thai food I've had, but not terrible either. The portions are generous, and the prices are fair for today's inflation, still way too much for one person's lunch but what can you do. (Appetizer+entree for $27) For a small place, they've done a nice job with the decor, which adds to the experience. The server was friendly and attentive, though it's generally expected but now-a-days its considered a plus so I'm including that. On that note, the serving plate was dirty. Pretty gross. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like but hey, I don't have to use it so no harm no foul I guess. I order from Thai 7 at least once a week! Easily my favorite Thai spot in the area. They have amaaaazing pad see ew and pad kra pao. Their yellow curry is delish too! I usually get takeout, but the times I've eaten in the restaurant I always had great service. Went in on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all. We got seated immediately. The service was extremely fast. We got food like 2-3 minutes after ordering, I was very impressed by that. The food portions are very small considering the price. I got the combination pho for $16, it had like 2 meat balls and a couple pieces of beef. For $16 you can definitely go to one of those trendy high end pho places with unique flavors and toppings. But this place is a basic hole in the wall. There's no unique flavors or crazy additions, it's just simple vietnamese comfort food and there's nothing wrong with that, it just needs to be cheaper. I left the restaurant still hungry. This place is in a very busy and popping area (downtown brea) and has to compete with the big trendy restaurants and make a statement to survive. The food here isn't bad, in fact I found it very comforting and yummy. I really hope this restaurant does well. They just need to add some flare to their menu to really stand out. read more

We had been waiting for this place to open since we saw a sign of a Thai place opening in downtown Brea. The ambiance was cozy, family friendly with inside and outside seating. The menu is straight forward, we did notice that there was no alcohol and no desserts. We decided to try a little of everything. Our favourite dish was the rice which was delicious and shareable size. The pho was really good as well and the best meat for us was the raw meat. The pad Thai was really good in flavour, but it only had 3 shrimps and the noodles were a little harder than expected. Finally a new Thai/Vietnamese restaurant in Brea and this spot did not disappoint. Probably one of the best pad see ew I've ever had. I only wish there was more of it! They make it authentic by putting yummy Chinese broccoli in it instead of American broccoli. My youngest usually doesn't eat Thai dishes but he surprisingly ate it up! They also offered a solid bowl of pho and Shaken beef, my oldest go-to dish. I'm looking forward to trying their other Thai dishes. Service was fantastic and the ambiance/decor was on point. The parking situation was terrible though since the plaza was super busy on Saturday. The Drunken Noodle was delicious but I wish the portion size was a little bigger for the price. As a Thai-American who tries many Thai restaurants, this was disappointing. We ordered Chicken Larb, Tom Kha Koong, and Chicken Pad Kra Pow. Food was not good or authentic. The food was overpriced for was given. The tom kha koong tasted like a whole different dish and even then it was sweet. Thai food is a combination of sweet, sour, spicy, and salty with a balance between all those flavors. Out of the three dishes we ordered two (pad kra pow and tom kha koong) were sweet and the larb lacked the flavors that make it larb. Waiter never checked up on us, we needed to flag one down to get water refilled. In total we paid $68 for a below mediocre meal. I would recommend silver spoon in Diamond Bar; the flavors are much better. read more

This is a small 5-6 table inside seating and a small amount of sidewalk seating. They had mainly one server with someone else who occasionally helped. I have been to much larger restaurants that even had yelp waitlists who were extremely organized. The owners or managers were not very helpful with the one server. People were leaving because tables were not bussed and their orders were not being taken. As far as our order we did get three items but we were only 2 people. The server asked us what we ordered 3 different times while making sure she placed it in system correctly. The food came out in a reasonable time. The food that was ordered was the chicken satay, kai soi noodle soup with beef, and a crab omelette. The kao soi tasted good and the chicken satay was the standard dish. The crab omelette photo kind of speaks for itself. Ended up spreading out crab and using the kao soi sauce to add some flavor to the omelette they should have had some additional flavoring to add for omelette. If you are going to have a crab omelette as an off the menu item special, it should be special. read more

The Mrs. and I had lunch at Thai 7 Bistro yesterday. Thai 7 is located next to Bruxie on the very competitive Birch Street promenade in downtown Brea. Having only been open since October, Thai 7 Bistro appears to be making an impact on the Brea culinary scene based upon the reviews from my fellow Yelpers. We arrived shortly before noon. There were four other diners and the place was pretty quiet. The footprint of Thai 7 is pretty small and the decor is minimal but comforting and welcoming. The menu is pretty extensive and has many of the dishes you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. There are also some fusion dishes offered such a Pho and calamari. The Mrs. and I stuck with our go-to Thai favorites to share. I ordered the Panang Curry with beef with a mild spice level. If I'm trying a new Thai restaurant I often start with mild because many times mild isn't really that mild. Thai 7's just had a small hint of heat. The flavor was rich and the beef was tender. The Mrs. ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and a medium spice level. Our waitress let us know that their medium spicy is pretty spicy. So we opted to go mild on the Pad Thai and use chili on the side. It worked out perfectly. The service we received was excellent we genuinely felt like the staff wanted us to be there. read more
