    Vegetable Dumplings

Stopped in for dinner and enjoyed some delicious Thai food. The vegetable dumplings were flavorful and cooked well, and the spicy basil noodle was amazing - great flavor, cooked to perfection, and everything I could ask for. The wait staff was excellent and super accommodating for my vegan friend. Definitely recommend!

Good food, very friendly staff. The flavors were spicy but not too overpowering. I really enjoyed my meal here. This is my second time eating here but I finally got a chance to review it. Will definitely be going back again.

Great place for an affordable meal. Portion size was good. Shrimp was fresh. Fried rice was a little spicy. And the Thai ice coffee really hit the spot. Service was fast and staff was very friendly.

I scoped this spot out in yelp before coming to eat here and I'm actually shocked by the low rating. So I'm here to boost it for the great experience I had Service: very friendly and attentive server. The food came out relatively quickly too. Food: really delicious and great lunch special. App+entree for $10!!!!! Loved the crispy garlic duck (not part of lunch special). The vibe: nothing special just very standard but not ugly neither. Good for a quick dinner/lunch

    Pad Thai Noodle Lunch Special

This one on Bell Blvd is def my Favorite Thai local spot! It is cute and has a warm ambience, staff is always friendly, and of course, food is good. This place is also more affordable and has better food than other popular Thai places in the area. I recommend giving it a try! Lunch specials are always a hit for me. Happy hour Drink offerings are great too (drinks only, not food for Happy Hour)

( https://www.instagram.com/p/DQF8Gzekcks/ ). It is a shame because, besides myself, I know a few people that aren't in the neighborhood that travel regularly to G&L. Also its surprising because every time I go the place is pretty packed and occasionally there is a wait. What's also a shame, for me, is that on my recent visit my friend ordered the Steamed Seafood in Lemongrass and this is perhaps the top, or one of the top dishes on the menu. The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.

I could have gotten many refills but I was dining with my wife and kids, and only opted for 1 refill. I got the tonkatsu ramen with garlic which is my go to ramen. I have come to kyuramen countless times of the years and they always say theres a chance of winning free ramen or a free drink. Yeah right... I was very skeptical and always have been. When you finish your ramen and broth, you would check at the bottom of your bowl to see if you won or not. I have never won except this time!! When you tell the server, they'll give you a little voucher/card to be used in about 3 weeks time. The time period for redemption is a bit short, but it's better than nothing. The food here is always good, the service generally attentive and fast. A nice place to bring your family or a date.

I really liked attention that went into the decors at this place. There are Japanese wooden prayer cards hanging on the walls. Some seatings are encapsulated in honey comb-shaped panels. Everything was made out of wood from tables to chairs to napkin holders and condiment jars. For appetizers, we had the Japanese fried oyster and calamari. Both were delicious especially the oysters that were popping out in the middle. I got the Yin Yang ramen which apparently was inspired by the yin yang hot pot with split broths. I immediately took a liking to this novel idea since I did want to try two different broths. I believe the red spicy side was miso-based, while the white side was tonkotsu. I quite enjoyed the red side as it was flavorful. The tonkotsu broth was a bit underwhelming as I thought it was pretty bland tasting. I also wished that it was served warmer. What I got was a bit tepid. Not pictured: my friend got the same ramen but his piece of the pork belly consisted entirely of fat with no lean meat. That was a bit disappointing. Despite the aforementioned misses, I did enjoy dining here and look forward to coming back and try their Omurice.

I've been back multiple times and it never disappoints. First, the sheer scope of the menu is impressive -- Korean, Japanese, and Chinese all done well under one roof. For the indecisive eater, this place is a dream. Our table ordered the gamjatang (pork bone stew), rose tteokbokki, and shrimp tempura, and every single dish was a hit. The rose tteokbokki in particular -- creamy, perfectly spiced, not too heavy -- is something I still think about. The gamjatang had incredible depth of flavor, the kind that tastes like it's been simmering all day. The portions are generous and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality you're getting. The combo sets are especially great value if you're coming with a group. The space itself is large and modern, with a comfortable, lively atmosphere that works just as well for a family dinner as it does for a night out with friends. Service was attentive and the side dishes kept coming -- always a good sign at a Korean restaurant. And yes, the tea is wonderful. They also have their own parking lot, which in Flushing is practically a luxury in itself. Whether you're a regular in the neighborhood or making a special trip out to Queens, Tang is absolutely worth it. This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again.
