    Combo #2

This is probably one of the worst places I have ordered BBQ from. I also ordered a peach cobbler dessert and it's so burnt and dried up! The brisket was ice cold. It doesn't matter if it was 20 minutes away, it's shouldn't be ICE cold.

Visiting from LA on a work trip, I wanted to grab a bite of something local before flying back home and I'm so glad I did. Everything on my plate was out-of-this-world delicious. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful in guiding me through the options. My only problem now is wondering if I'll ever find BBQ this good back in Los Angeles probably not! I'm not sure when I'll be back in town, but when I do return, I will definitely be revisiting. Cheers!

The food was awesome for the pricing of the barbecue nowadays. The service could use a little bit more training, but overall, we enjoyed the food.

    Great ribs and turkey

Awesome food. Turkey not dry and tender enough to cut with your fork. The place was clean and the sauce was on the side.

My partially eaten brisket loaded baked potato with sweet AND spicy bbq sauce.

Amazzzzzzing bbq. Everyone, come here, except when I want to because I don't want a line :). This is a family-owned bbq joint in Hurst near the mall. The brisket was so juicy (and it didn't even appear that fatty) Is it magic? Maybe. The pork ribs were fallin right off the bone. My test with any bbq joint is whether I can eat the meat without bbq sauce and love it. This place passes with flying colors. However, don't be skimpin on that bbq sauce. It's so good here--in fact, they advised we mix the sweet and spicy and it was perfection. The cherry on top for this Texas Star BBQ is that the staff are so kind and helpful. I will be back. For. Sure.

Outstanding food and service. Check it out, and I bet you will agree. Not in a real busy area, so the parking is good too.

I got the smoked turkey with green beans and the burnt in beans. They really are one of my favorite side dishes to eat. The two guys carving meat were funny, friendly, and helpful. They graciously gave me a taste of the turkey before I ordered it and I'm glad they did. I love the family style seating. This place is nice and comfortable. Unfortunately I always go during work so I never get a beer. They live up to their name, fully supporting this great country and the constitution that defends it So go, support local barbecue!

I ordered the most excellent BBQ Sundae that consisted of loaded mashed potatos and Mexicican style street corn topped with delicious chopped brisket and jalepeno cheddar sausage. The slicer graciously allowed me to substitute the black pepper sausage for the jalepeno cheddar and the combination was absolute dynamite, ya hear????? The service was kind and enthusiastic just like at many of the other reputable Texas BBQ joints. Barbecue folks=Good folks. My husband just had a side of the cowboy beans to enjoy for lunch. I thought the beans were excellent. I noticed too that they also have burnt end beans that are more like a baked bean dish. We chose a two meat brisket platter with brisket burnt ends, sliced brisket, the cowboy beans and Mexican street corn to take home. We paid a premium because our platter was essentially a double brisket platter. No problemo! Just give us that brisket goodness! We thought everything was fantastic and would definitely recommend as a great place in North Richland Hills for barbecue. I appreciate the patriotic theme of the restaurant and simply adore the name.

I hit the drive-thru and the service was excellent. I could even understand through the speakers! Nice displays of menus and specials. Looks like they even have a Thanksgiving package (hint hint). Lots of drive-thru ambiance. I ordered the 2-meat plate (brisket and sausage), and instead of 2-sides I replaced with a loaded baked potato. When asked which sauce, my eye started twitching. I dont like pouring sauce on meat after the fact...I prefer it baked and baked in. But...I told them id take their spicy BBQ sauce on the side. So...once I got home, I tore into the potato. It was HUGE so I cut it in half. The meat did not have sauce baked and baked in, but it was good. Really good. And then I went crazy. I tasted the spicy BBQ sauce. Very good. And went crazier and poured it over the brisket, sausage, and baked potato. There was a lot of food on the plate, so I saved half for leftovers. It was really really good and I'll definitely be going back.

On a Friday night at 7 I should have wondered when the place was almost empty. The initial service was slow getting an order but actually picked up during the dinner. The decor inside is nice but that's really where it ends. I opted for a Caesar salad to start and it was actually pretty good. Surprising but also that was the highlight of the dinner, which is sad. My wife ordered the half rack of ribs that were just OK. It was a dry rub. Still not as much flavor as I was hoping or expecting. The French fries and beans were mediocre. I ordered the Tennessee Triple with sausage, brisket and turkey. It also came with hush puppies and okra. The brisket was horrible. No taste at all. The sausage not great at all. Now the turkey was surprisingly good and not dry. The okra was mediocre. Then we ordered peach cobbler to try and salvage the night. The server cautioned us that it was very hot. They microwaved it! Had to. The top was hot and then middle very lightly warmish. The bottom of the dish was cold. That's a sure sign of microwave and not a lot of flavor. Needless to say we won't be back .
