I'm not really sure what to say about this one other than for the price you get a lot of food!! With prices increasing everywhere, you get a lot here. But the quality of bar b Que here is okay not great. I'd also say Smokey John's bar b Que or Dickey Bar-B-Que is better than this but it was a great adventure to somewhere completely new to us and the staff was extremely friendly! The ribs were huge and smoked not a lot of seasoning and I love seasoning. I ordered brisket bites and they were okay not my fav and I prob wouldn't order them again but try something else. Really it's one of those hole in the wall places that might surprise you. We went for the company not so much the food. I ordered pickles bc they looked good but we're all mushy and I didn't like that at all. I mean the photos will let you know what you get , the coleslaw tasted like something you get out of a tub at Walmart or similar not homemade.

I was looking forward to some BBQ and figured any place in the stockyards would be tasty. I got the shopped brisket sandwich and fried okra and was highly disappointed. I did ask the server if she recommended chopped or shaved and her opinion was shaved since chopped reminded her or a sloppy Joe which I usually like and was sharing with a toddler so I went that route. It was very dry and bland. I paid extra to upgrade to okra which was a let down too as it was super burnt and therefore dry. I will say the appetizer sampler was delicious. The corn and the cheese curds were the favorites. My 7 year old nephew got bottomless ribs which looked super bare (and he ordered 3 plates) but they were bottomless and apparently really good so take that as you will. Service was good and we were seated quickly. I think most other people enjoyed their food okay but mine was a major letdown, don't order the chopped brisket or fried okra..

While I normally would give these cats a decent review, todays meal merits nothing more than one star. Between the family and I, we got a chopped brisket sandwich basket, and Brisket Plate, and a Beef Ribs basket. The chopped beef was good, as always. The brisket was tasty, albeit a little dry, but since it was delivered, no one to blame but myself. The beef ribs however, were a fucking tragedy. As far as the size goes, wow. Four whole beef ribs, with a side, for $11. The flavor??? Absolute garbage. The meat was bone dry, with almost no smoke ring. There was decent pull back from the bones, but it's blatantly obvious these ribs were started on the smoker and finished, badly, in an oven. (As someone who adopted bbq as a hobby when Covid first hit hard, I've smoked my share of beef ribs, and even the ones I failed on were better than this. That's how bad these were.) I literally couldn't eat them. Four bites in and I had to go vomit them up, they were that bad. My mouth was like "these aren't bad... they aren't GREAT, though..." and my stomach said "NOPE. FULL EJECT MOTHERFUCKER.". I get being a production bbq place, and being pressed for time, but don't sell something my cat won't even eat. (And that fat asshole ain't picky, lol.) Very disappointed, Risky's. Wish I could have that $11 back, because I sure as shit didn't eat the food. Boo.

4 stars for 4 chopped beef sandwiches for $5 - this tried and true deal brings many memories for my husband so it is very appreciated. The fried okra was delicious

I had the pleasure of making some new friends. Jeannine and the boys at Riscky's were wonderful, they showed me around and gave me a backgrounder of their still family-owned business. Their service was terrific, the food divine. I highly recommend this #smallbiz for those passing through or living here in FWTX.

Well, to someone from California, this was pretty good bbq. Service was awesome, brisket was off the chain good, and prices were fair. Totally enjoyed my day at the stockyards.

Great menu. Old school barbecue. More casual than other locations I've been to. Beef back ribs didn't disappoint. Staff was attentive.

The spot is just west of Denton Hwy. on Basswood in a little strip center on the north side. It's a small store, but it was organized well and I was easily able to find what I was looking for. They had the paste! They also had a large variety of spices so I took the opportunity to stock up on curry spices. It is definitely a better deal to purchase here instead of Kroger. The large chain stores like Kroger might have 1 or 2 options when in comes to curry or any international spices or ingredients and the charge way more. If you are looking for any specialty Indian food or ingredients then I'd definitely recommend stopping in Amma's! When I'm in the area this will be my go to spot.

The interior of the store has changed since I was last year. I noticed they have a mandatory mask…read moresign upon entering the store. When we went in there weren't many people in the store. The aisles are organized and clean. They have an assortment of international teas, spices, curry, produce in the back, frozen food, rice, nuts, Hindu religious products etc. I would recommend checking items before purchasing as I noticed some had expired. The prices range from inexpensive to pricey. I love that they have digestive cookies, unfortunately I didn't see the brand I like so I tried a different one which was decent. I don't see myself returning, but I'm glad they updated the store.
