I hane no less than 10 SC bogo coupons for realz, sowhy did I leave home, get to their parking lot without a single one of them? Narry, nada, nan one. What to do? Nothing. Go in, order up. Believe me their brisket is worth full price. Ordered the 3 meat plate. Ribs, peppered sausage, fatty brisket because it pack the richest flavor. For my side? Okra basket as per my usual. They must have someone new baking rolls because I only needed one. Gifreakinnormous buttery blasted loaves of joy. Open it up, softly slather the inside with whipped butter, then a hunk of brisket, what? Now dunk in the bbq sauce on the plate. No, this isn't my upper end steakhouse etiquette, this is a smokey rib joint. Fingers and shirt are gettin saucey. Water and beer of the root are on stand by. My okra comes out super hot, seasoned just right, and some more hot. No ketchup, just a lonely fork rested and ready for these delectable nuggets. I love okra like this. They never get it wrong. 2 pickle spears. The server with the rolls saunters by with that basket. Why of course I'll have a fresh roll. No room for it though. Never got to my ribs, the brisket and sausage filled me up. Now I still have ribs, sausage, half my okra and a roll to lunchify today. Spring has sprung everyone. Hard to believe that I have been eating at Spring Creek BBQ since I was 16 years old. They still know what Texas hospitality means. The barbecue always passes the pull test and is consistently good. It looks like they wrap and butcher paper instead of foil, which is great. They provide good quality side dishes to go with the meat whereas some places don't pay much attention to their sides. Walking into this place is like an old school cafeteria line but with a few grown up additions. At first glance you see bottled beer, smothered with ice, so you know it will be iced cold. You take a tray and immediately are confronted with your choice of meat. They have everything. The choice today will be a three meat meal. To begin the plate I ask for sliced beef, cracked beef sausage, and ribs. This comes with two side choices so I select Cole slaw and beans. A hot steaming roll with butter melting on top and I grab some pickles, hot peppers slices of onion and extra butter. I love BBQ that melts in your mouth, brisket that just falls apart on your fork. This is it, it has a tender chew and the smoke ring is there. Next the cracked black pepper sausage is an explosion of spice coming from the black peppercorns dancing on your tongue. And lastly the ribs. The meat is literally falling off the bone as you pick it up! The meat is so tender it's melting in your mouth. My two sides are Cole slaw and beans. I was just little disappointed with both. I licked the slaw but thought it bland and watery while the beans had good flavor and was tender but I thought they needed a bit more BBQ flavor. Because I only got one sauce cup I couldn't 'doctor' the beans so knowing now what I do, I'd be sure to get extra BBQ sauce. The roll was steaming hot and the butter just melted all over the roll. The roll lady came around with her basket of extra hot rolls right out of the oven so be sure to flag her down. After you get through the line you take a seat in the dinning room and dig in. I devoured the meal as good BBQ is hard to find in the dessert where I live. This was just a good meal that filled my belly with some good old flavors I've been missing for a while. The bone-in meat was to come out in 20 minutes; however, I was denied the option to have my original order due to the meat not being ready. Always a great time when Spring Creeks hosts our dining out Toastmasters Club. We love the private room plus being able to go through the line and get when each of us desires. For this lovely March evening, I decided on the St. Louis Rib platter with sides of Cole Slaw and potato salad. Of course, a visit to Spring Creek wouldn't be complete without those fantastic fresh cooks rolls they tempt you with. They are SO good. The "Q" was right on point, the ribs were smoked to perfection and the meat just at the point of falling off the bone. I know my dog was going to be "hog heaven" when I got home with his treats of the wonderful rib bones. Always the staff at Spring Creek is so upbeat and happy. They started brining their brisquets like a deli does with corned beef. The meat is now salty through and through, the meat is wet on the inside and is bright rosey pink. The texture is wet, firm and rubbery but easily chewed. It's like smokey and salty corned beef. It's not bad if you slather it with sauce. Twenty years ago, Spring Creek used to be a decent BBQ place...but not anymore. The service was fine, as it is a cafeteria-style line. Everyone working there was very nice. They do come to your table with endless hot rolls, so that is a bonus. Let's get to why you go to a BBQ place - the BBQ. I had the pulled pork, and it was OK. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was edible. My parents both had the brisket, and it was so fatty that it was inedible. My mother's cuts were pure fat. We had just flown into the DFW airport and were really hungry, so we pushed through and ate what we could. We also paid for it for about two days. Heads up all you BBQ snobs, let's talk about this location of Spring Creek BBQ. First of all are there better BBQ places in TX, well yeah, TX is the home of BBQ. I might add that TX BBQ has become quite pricey especially since its reputation has exceeded to such a high level and the transplants from other states have found the BBQ capital of TX. Don't let those other states tell you any different. This comes from my opinion as a person who travels several weeks a year and whose husband always tries BBQ throughout the states we visit. Ok, on to my actual review. The service was outstanding the night we went. We actually revisited because we had a B1G1 dinner coupon from one of those junk mail envelopes I just happen to open. From the dude who sliced up the meat, to the scooper of sides, the cashier, the handed out of extra rolls and the guardian of the dessert...everyone was smiling and friendly. The place was clean and tables were being bussed quickly. Now the food: the ribs had a decent smoke line and the bbq sauce was sweet and savory. The rolls were a bit yeasty for my taste. The green beans were seasoned well. The mac & cheese was meh. The potato salad was good, creamy and not too mustardy. Baked beans were acceptable in my hubs view, however my homemade baked beans are much better. I think baked beans as is potato salad on the tastebuds of the taster. No two people judge those foods the same. Now the dessert, well ya got to go ask for it at the roll counter. I thought the way it was hidden and guarded that I may need a password but no, you just have to seek it out and ask. The cobbler looked ok but I didn't get any. I asked for the ice cream for the hubs because he can't ever say no to ice cream. They gave me a small cup with a mini scoop in it that I'm pretty sure was intended to be plopped on top of the cobbler. It really was just the right amount to finish off the meal. The portions were substantial and we made a meal out of the leftovers the next day. Great value if you can dig out the B1G1 coupon and if you had a little or two, you could probably eat as a family for less than $25, a great value. We have dined at Spring Creek several times over many years. Just can not place them on my super to go to place. It seems very popular. Most people enjoy the extra fresh dinner rolls served with the meal. Staff is pleasant and the environment is worn due to high usage, but maybe that's what makes BBQ attractive. I had the marbled brisket (marble is 100% the way to go) which was some of the best brisket I'd ever had and my husband had the baby back ribs which he enjoyed. The sides were less than desirable -- the mac and cheese and corn were cold . If you're going to get a side get their fried stuff -- the fries and fried okra were hot, fresh and delicious! The coconut cream pie was also incredible! And the unlimited hot fresh baked rolls were also sooo tasty! I was in the area. My father wanted Spring Creek. Iam not going to argue with him since it's my favorite Restaurant! So we headed to the Before location. My sister showed me the scenic route. It was a pleasant and easy to find Spring Creek! Parking lot was clean and spacious with lots of parking spots that flanked the restaurant. Inside was spacious and clean with just a few customers. There was other customer in front of us. The server was taking care of them and began to to clean up her station while we waited to order. Finally, she said can I help you. Then she gave me all the fat off the brisket. Smh. Also, the prices have doubled. The portions are like one spoonful. It seemed like a kids meal? Mac and cheese and Potatoe Salad was ok.Usually a Manager comes to check on us but no one did. Cashier was really nice. The Hot fresh bread came out twice during our meal. Can you say blessed! I was so excited to see the dough rise. The anticipation was killing me. My roll was hot, crispy and sweet. I was supposed to say no to the roll but, that didn't happen. Lol. The bread lady used Tongs and asked each one of us if would like one. Back in the day, the basket was brought out and you could two fist. Lol. So grateful to have something to eat. Middle of the road barbecue that's not for the Texas barbecue purists.   We regularly, infrequently, come to Spring Creek Barbecue, and will likely continue doing so. The service is energetic, and they keep the large restaurant clean. The bakery employee made regular table visits offering fresh hot rolls, which is a highlight of the meal.   Now, about the barbecue. I know about half of you reading this will disagree with my opinion of this barbecue, I get it. Barbecue brings that out in us. But, that's okay....you can be wrong. Ribbing aside, this barbecue isn't custom crafted, top tier barbecue. This is chain restaurant barbecue. So, let's keep the review in its lane. My official review: It's okay for what it is.   Let's start with why we keep coming back. IT'S CHEAPISH! Download the app, and take advantage of their promotions, like the buy one get one deal. With enough points collected you'll get further discounts. There's value here.   Next, the extras are worthy of consideration. Like, the fresh hot rolls baked right in view of the diners. They will eventually make their way to your table, offered by the baker. They are complimentary, so take full advantage. If you like fried okra, order a basket when you are at the meat cutting station. They'll fry up a batch especially for you. Also, they serve sides the way I wish all of them would do. You get a plate with meat and two sides. To me, that's a meal. I don't want to be forced to order a pint of this, a quart of that. I just want a complete meal; and, you'll get exactly that at Spring Creek.   Now about the meats. The brisket and ribs are fine, nothing to get excited about. They have large smokers, and the brisket has a prominent smoke ring.  You'll also smell smokey when you leave. Like most barbecue joints, whether you get excellent cuts or if you're served dried shoe leather depends upon lots of variables. This restaurant is inconsistent. So, your experience may vary with each visit. We have consistently found good quality in their smoked chicken and their sausages. The chicken is moist and thoroughly smoked. My family always likes that the sausages aren't too spicy.  Consider both of these meats with your order.   Regarding the ambiance, I've already mentioned the restaurant is large. It can easily accommodate big group gatherings. I've also mentioned it's smokey. Country western music plays over the speakers, and there's definitely a laid-back Texas vibe going on. It can get a little noisy, but you can still hear folks at your table.   Overall, if you're a true barbecue purist, this isn't your kind of barbecue restaurant. I've been going to this location since I moved to the area years ago. My husband ordered through the website. We got two meals and two chocolate pies. The portions were noticeably smaller than they've ever been. The seasonings were off. We've ordered their pies before but this was the first time they were frozen. They were also three days old (the date was written on top).They tasted freezer burnt. My husband called to see if we could at least get a refund on the pies. The manager on duty noted they couldn't refund us without contacting corporate since we ordered from their website. I ordered online for curbside delivery for this visit. When I arrived, I pulled into a parking spot with a numbered traffic cone and called the number provided in my confirmation email. My order arrived within just a couple of minutes. The server arrived with my bagged order on a tray. I grabbed my bag, put a tip on the tray, and that was it. The server was courteous, and was wearing a mask and globes. I felt comfortable with the measures being taken to provide excellent service while maintaining social distancing. Only EAT IN or PICK UP yourself at this location. My family normally visits this restaurant but last month I ordered DoorDash. I was working from home and decided to order lunch and enough for dinner for all of us. I ordered 2 meat combo with brisket and ribs. Brisket was great but 2 of 4 ribs were hard, dry and little or no meat. See pictures attached. It was a lot of money, but because of their mistake I did not have enough food and had to cook, after having spent more that 60'bucks. Called restaurant and complained, didn't want a refund but felt it was only fair to complain directly , as their food is usually so goods assumed it was a training issue. I was given a number to text but never received a response(I'm assuming from management). Anyway, just picked up an order myself, and it is great as usual. Rating of 3 is just to average a 1rating for what was sent via DoorDash and a 5 for what I received in person, when there is more accountability. read more

I really enjoyed this visit. Most BBQ places are all the same to me. People give stellar reviews of the meat, which I find just like all the other places. Very few are actually outstanding. As soon as we walked in the front door, you could smell the smoke, which I liked. I ordered a rib plate with green beans and coleslaw. The ribs were not fall off the bone tender, and I DONT like fall off the bone tender. Meat should have some body to it. You should be able to bite into the meat as it slowly comes off the bone. The ribs were exactly the way I like them, which happens very seldom. I liked the sauce, not spicy, but not bland. The green beans were great, the coleslaw was ok. I like it sweeter and creamier. All in all, a great meal that I throughly enjoyed. I saw pictures of free ice cream on Sunday on Yelp, but no one offered. Our loss. Come visit, and try the ribs! read more

My St Louis ribs were meaty, tender and flavorful. My brisket was not as good, i asked for the fatty portion, but it was chewy and somewhat dry. The rolls are always THE BEST, thats what brings us in. I like the potato salad, the corn on the cob is fresh tasting. The tea is way too expensive at $3.55 each. But all in all, i loved my dinner. The employees are very nice. I am confused by the request for a tip, because it's cafeteria style. Also, there is a sign posted. Several places in the restaurant advertising to hire and part of the pay is dependent on tip sharing. I have never seen a single person tip in this restaurant since I started coming to Spring creek with my Dad in 1980. The prices are pretty high and you don't really get waited on except for the girl bringing the bread around. I guess we could tip her. I'm going to change that just say that people who pick up to go orders are hopefully tipping, but I never do that. read more

Recommended by my wife's friend, we met her there while enroute back to AZ. I guess I was thinking it'd be some great Texan BBQ that would blow my mind. That bar was raised a little too high. We arrived, met her friend and proceeded down that food line; everything looked and smelled delicious. My fam ordered ribs with various sides. I wasn't impressed! I mean yes the food was good but not fantastic. BBQ places in San Diego/AZ fared way better to me. Kudos to the staff for continuously bringing by hot rolls, though. Another thing was the trays when we were done. I was ready to throw them away but I guess the staff does it. But the trays stayed in my face until we left. I should've moved them over to another table but thought it'd be rude; oh well. Overall, it was worth it to see my wife and her friend have a good time re-connecting. All of the Spring Creeks Barbecues that I have been to in the Dallas and Fort Worth area have always been good. For this not familiar, Spring Creek is cafeteria style. The portions are good size. Fresh baked bisques are brought to your table multiple times during your meal. I especially like their St Louis Babyback ribs. read more

Came in after church for quick lunch, as I was craving Bar-B-Que plus I remembered Sunday's are FREE Homemade Vanilla Blue Bell Ice Cream days. That is added bonus along with the fresh HOT rolls that come around just about the time you are ready to leave cause you have already had 4 or 5 of those delicious pillows of yumminess. But I am putting my bread addiction ahead of the overall food and welll that won't do. One of the the things you will notice when coming into (like most bar-b-que) places they have posted a slight warning on the "brisket" cost and I get it better to warn a family that brisket plate is now going to cost your $18-19 for a few strips of brisket so if you decide to partake you better plan on taking your time and enjoying with NO sharing. At that price its every cowboy for themself. But for today I had already made up my mind on having a Chopped Baker with the Carolina Pulled Pork, now if you have never had Carolina bar-b-que is it different it is more of a mustard based sauce unlike the traditional Texas style sauces. I am not saying its better I am saying they are different and I love them both, but today was feeling a little different in the taste bud department so went with it and I was not disappointed. Good sauce not overpowering but just the right amount of twang, its not like a "key-lime" twang its more of a honey-mustard twang. My wife got a turkey chopped baker not sure how I feel about turkey on my baked tater but I guess if you put enough bar-b-que sauce on it it can work. She loved it but she always loves Springcreeks smoked turkey its one of her favorites. My daughter got just a LOADED tater and she was happy just pile on the butter, cheese and sour cream and that kid is in LaLa-land. Then when you bring in the hot fresh pillows of yummy yeastful delight well lets just say I had a good Sunday afternoon nap. The one down side to the whole trip was my shock on how unclean so many tables were. We had arrived before the noon Sunday church goers so it was not crazy busy (yet) but I was so surprised to see so many tables in same section with trash on them. I know Spring creek usually does a much better job of keeping everything clean, so I am sure it is same issue so many other places are having right now with all the FREE money the government is giving out.
