    Dinner time.

My wife and I've kept hearing how we MUST visit Campfire Grill Texas Kitchen and how ALL the food was SO good. Finally, we headed to see what all the allocates were about. We soon found out that all that we heard was true, our visit was phenomenal that started with a warm friendly greeting when we entered the restaurant. With the wonderful signage, we knew we needed to order at the counter where we would receive a number to put on our table. We had to step back for a bit looking up at the menu boards showing all the deliciousness that we could partake in. Gosh, could I have one of everything? My wife said NO you can't. Everything sounded so good. After some "cussing and discussing" we decided on our entrees. My wife opted for the BLT with fries, and I choose the Combo seafood platter with fried catfish and shrimp. I'd never met a catfish I didn't love! We also HAD to order the peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream to top off our meal. The restaurant was super clean, well kept up and decorated nicely. They have a neat thing, "The Giving Wall." The restaurant picks out 6 charities to support, customers stick their meal receipts in the box and the charity with the highest dollar amount in the box, gets a 10% donation for the month. What a wonderful gesture on the restaurant's behalf. After a short wait. our entrees were brought to our table and everything looked so delicious. Guess what it was! My wife said the BLT, which was stuffed to the brim with bacon. She said it was one of the best BLT's she's ever had. My catfish/shrimp combo platter was wonderful. The shrimp and were fried to perfection and had a wonderful batter on them. My hushpuppies were the perfect accompaniment to the patter along with the Cole slaw. Both of our French fries were prepared perfectly and not greasy at all. Right when we were finishing our delicious entrees, here come the peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. It had a great crunchy topping to it and the peaches were so tender. What an incredible way to end our meal. Thank you, Campfire Grill, for a wonderful first visit, it won't be our last.

As a dedicated explorer of all things fried fish, I'm always on the hunt for the best spots to satisfy my cravings. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Campfire Grill, a Black-owned gem right in my neighborhood of North Richland Hills! It was Fried Fish Friday, and they had a catfish special that was calling my name. Let me tell you, this was some of the BEST catfish I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and not a hint of fishy taste. The sides were equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. But the real star of the show was the banana pudding. Oh. My. Goodness. It had a cheesecake-like consistency that was rich, creamy, and absolutely heavenly. The atmosphere at Campfire Grill was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu. This place has definitely earned a spot on my regular Fried Fish Friday rotation!

I LOVE this place! Fantastic service and such a great menu of options. Menu is affordable and there are plenty of options. Such a gem of a find off Ruff Snow. Will definitely be back.

We found this place when we were in the area. It is an eclectic mix of Southern food with a Chicago feel. You can find Chicken Fried Steak, an Italian Sausage Sandwich, and Gyro Wrap. It has quite the local following and seems like it would be a great spot to be featured on The Food Channel's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We had the Patti Melt, Salad with Gyro Meat, and Pumpkin Cheesecake. It was all tasty. The atmosphere is very casual, the service was prompt but they do have quite a few To Go Orders, and the food was delicious. We will definitely come back again.

My husband, myself, and our three kids enjoy coming here! Food is always warm, fresh, and full of great flavor. I especially love the blackened chicken dish (so juicy!) and my husband is a fan of the fried catfish combo plate. My son loves the burger and fruit and daughter always gets chicken tender and seasoned fries! Delicious! I didn't snap a pic of our meal tonight, but did manage to get one of the dessert! Super yummy. Brownie with vanilla ice cream. Service here is always great and workers are very kind and welcoming. Over all, the restaurant is very family-friendly and very homey feeling. Will definitely be back! Thank you Campfire grill!

Comfort food - chicken fried chicken lunch special

SO good, and so reasonably priced. Attractive, clean and local to boot. What could be better! The chicken fried chicken is tender and flavorful, the green beans perfectly seasoned, and the cilantro lime rice just perfect. I happened to have a two-hour break in my day and I'm so glad I stopped here for lunch!

Really good Chicken Fried Steak Lunch

This place has been on my list to visit for a long time. So we decided to give it a shot on a Saturday afternoon. Very pleasantly surprised to see how clean and nice it was inside. I was impressed that tables were cleaned and it always gives me comfort when a restaurant takes pride in their dining room. So it's a country kitchen with some souls food mixed in. I didn't realize this but was happy, since I grew up in the Deep South and appreciate good soul food. Loved seeing family working here and their young kids learning a good work ethic. They were all so friendly and helpful. We ordered a chicken dumpling as an appliance then I decided on the chicken fried steak and my wife ordered the fried catfish plate. Let me tell you about that scrumptious chicken and dumplings. Some of the best I remember. I could order a bowl just for my lunch next time. Then I got my chicken fried steak and was very happy with it. Great size, breading and taste. The only thing I didn't like was the gravy. It wasn't the traditional white gravy and detracted slightly from the great taste. It wasn't bad though. My wife loved her catfish. I liked that it wasn't too salty like some places make it. Overall we will come back. Very good food and a good value.

Burger with cheese and jalapenos, and fries
    Jon M.

I really wanted a decent burger, and reviews here were excellent.. I got the burger and added cheese and jalapenos (kinda expensive to cost $1 for a slice of cheese, and $1 for like 6 slices of jalapenos. The burger tasted good, though. My biggest complaint was the fries which were nearly flavors since not enough of that seasoning salt on mine. Why remove a star? The cost of even adding 1 slice of cheese or a couple of jalapenos, is ridiculous. They also couldn't put mustard on the burger and just put a little in a small portion cup Also I ordered the banana pudding (all of this was a to-go order, so can eat in my car while jamming music). For it being a to-go order, they didn't put any napkins in my bag which is usually standard, and didn't even put a spoon in for my pudding (ended up running to QT to get a spoon, since that was near where pulled over to eat). So they will nickel and dime you here and not include stuff usually needed in to-go orders. But burger was good, so kinda on the fence about if I wanna come here again, despite so many good reviews

Great food and great service. If you're looking for home-cooking... this is your stop. In addition, they have a giving wall that gives 10% back to a local organization. Save your receipt and drop it in the box.

Chicken fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes (under the CFS) and Texas toast
    Valerie F.

My brother and I decided to pop in to Campfire Grill after his doctor's appointment in the same plaza. If you like home style cooking, get in your car and head on over! Bubba got the lunch special order of the BBQ meatloaf, with green beans and mac & cheese, which was an upgrade at only .50¢ and I got the Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. First off, the green beans are DELICIOUS, oh my goodnesssssss, I could eat a bowl of those all by themselves! The CFS was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Really good. The mashed potatoes were silky and flavorful, and that gravy... no packaged gravy there, it was like what my Mamaw used to make! We will be putting Campfire grill in our rotation for sure, the staff was also incredibly friendly, I did knock one star off for the whole Menu up on screens above the order window literally ceiling height, that's just a personal preference for me, the whole dining experience is minimized if I have to go to a window like a concession stand at a ball game. They seem to have a pretty extensive menu, but the psychological pressure to find what I want while people are impatiently standing behind me is so icky. But the other reason I took off a star is the POS system asking me for a tip. What???? I have to order my food at a window, fill my own drink, and gather my silverware? I think it's crummy. If you want me to pay for your staff, just build the tip into the cost of the meal and pay them better. So going forward we will probably get our order to go, but it's the overall experience, of not having table service, not the tip lol, we prefer table service because I'm disabled, along with my brother. Good food for sure, so don't sleep on trying them out if you're craving some good Texas home cooking!

The food- the burgers were enjoyed, the fries are a mound of floppy & oily potato strings. The chicken tenders were basic, and again floppy oily fries. The chicken fried steak was mostly salty thick breading with a small thick and hard to chew steak...but the mashed potatoes and gravy and pea salad were good. The onion rings are huge but again, floppy and oily. I'd say I'd give them another try but I don't want to waste my money on overpriced takeout!
