I love the food here. I'm a breakfast girl and love to try local breakfast spots. I went to breakfast with my family and I got the pork chops breakfast which I absolutely loved. The pork chops were nice and flavorful. Here lately, I have been on a biscuit kick and OMG! Bacons has some really yummy biscuits. Funny thing is, I ordered a biscuit and they had run out for the day and had to cook more and they told me it would be like 15 minutes and I will tell you, it was totally worth the wait. I was an hour early for an appointment, so I looked online for nearby restaurants. What a stroke of luck it was to have chosen Bacon's Bistro. It's a family operated restaurant with friendly staff and great food. I was able to get my breakfast with one of my hard to find favorites, marble rye toast. As plates were being delivered to other tables I got a glimpse of their biscuits, they are huge! The country potatoes are delicious and come with grilled peppers and onions - no up charge. You get a juicy chicken fried chicken that comes with breakfast potatoes (with a little onion & green pepper), 2 eggs served your way, with choice of toast or biscuit. Given my schedule took me towards downtown FW, I located Bacon's not too far from the airport. It's not the over the top, fancy breakfast spot, it's a place reminiscent of a family style dining room. Greeted by staff at the door, you'll feel at home in no time. The menu has plenty of you breakfast favorites at a very reasonable price and portions are plentiful. Considering I was bit hungry at a 7am flight, I loaded up on protein and carbs, with the Three Egg Pan Omelette, Blueberry Pancake, w/hash browns. The omelette was stuffed big enough, I didn't finish it. Pancake wise, I was wishing for something a little bit more flavorful, however the fresh blueberries cooked within did the job. Ok, I just happen to be passing through Hurst. I came across this place searching for a good breakfast spot. Honestly I chose it solely based off of the reviews. It's a small quaint, cozy place, not too big or small. The other customers were pleasant and friendly. However the best thing about this place was my server, Jessica. She was very thorough. Knowing that I was a 1st timer made me comfortable and was filled with recommendations. Based off her recommendation, I chose the Spinach and Artichoke Quiche. The crust was flaky and had a perfect balance of ingredients. Learning that I had a pineapple allergy, Ms Jessica had my fruit bowl adjusted accordingly. Kudos to Jessica for great service, above and beyond. In addition, the ladies restroom was very clean and nostalgic. Our server Pepe was attentive and accommodated my request to change to the "full order." The ambience can be louder on the weekends than the weekdays, but it was enjoyable and fun. The breakfast chicken fried steak with country potatoes is our #1 favorite. The most recent dish is Shrimp & Grits. The shrimp is cooked to perfection. It has jalapeños, green onions, bacon, and bbq sauce. We asked to have fried eggs added & a side of bacon which is 3 slices. This hearty dish comes with a biscuit and is perfect on a cold morning. The restaurant seems to go back and forth between two locations (one across the street & this one)...we've been to both but this may recent trip was that great. We came by on Father's Day weekend and it wasn't super busy. The wait wasn't too bad either. In terms of the food, it's pretty typical American style breakfast (read: lots of carbs). I was trying to find a lighter, healthier option and didn't have much luck outside of 1 egg whites meal. They do have Turkey sausage and bacon, which is a plus.
