What a wonderful event, The Clove Cafe is a true gem. The warmth you find here, you will not find at your local "coffee shop". While there, a lady came in with her mother, the owner of the establishment came out to greet her in a way a friend would greet another. When you're wanting something that feels genuine and from the heart, this will be a cafe I'd recommend. Everyone, knows someone, even if meeting as strangers over coffee or nibbles of sweet pastries. Heck, you can throw in some games to that, as well. As someone stated in a previous review, it seems as if everyone who works there, truly loves being there. It isn't a chore, it isn't about rushing to get to the next drink preparation, they're, there to make sure you have the best experience in the place they nurture for others to enjoy. I appreciate that. Blueberry Matcha: I'm a fan, but not a fan of matcha. To explain, not everyone knows how to balance the taste of matcha. It's either way too earthy/gritty or not sweet enough, it has been rare that someone knows how to balance that combination. I have never tried a blueberry matcha and was excited to see this was one of our options. This was superb. The blueberry wasn't in syrup form, it was a blueberry foam that added the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is something I'd get again, and again. Too many people ruin matcha's with syrup that swims on the bottom, here, not even. Seasonal: White Chocolate Rose Scone I'll admit, I'm not a scone person. The scones I've tried in the past, were hard and flaky and that's what turned me away from there. But this scone was soft and moist, I truly enjoyed every bite. I am now open to trying others, but only at this cafe. Cheddar Chive Biscuit: My favorite. Well, my favorite is their Pepper Jack Jalapeno Biscuit, so this will be my second. I warmed it up and added a touch of butter, OOOHHWEEEE, it more than hit the spot. I can't wait to have one again. With this latest visit, I learned they alternate their biscuits monthly and they have calendars available to remind their patrons. What a lovely cozy friendly cafe with small town vibes near a busy mall. It has all the small thoughtful touches that makes you know that the people running this cafe truly care about their customers. There's some puzzles and games for toddlers, a quite large free library shelf, soft cozy seating, items for sale from local artisans and my absolute new favorite thing that I discovered (and now that I have - I wish that everyone else would do it!) is that they have a wall of PROPER mugs and glasses for you to pick from to enjoy your in house drinks - talk about a homely feel with a side of ecological happiness !!! The ambiance in this café? Definitely giving "a librarian opened a coffee shop" and I was absolutely here for it. It was calm, cozy, and peaceful; the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. I ordered the Riley's Blueberry Birthday Matcha and a blueberry citrus scone. The matcha was really good; perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not bland. Coffee tastes super smooth and delicious. Next time I personally would get it a little less sweet because the locally sourced honey is sweet as is. I loved my first experience at The Clove Cafe! Right as I walked in, the baristas greeted me and asked me if I was a first timer. Something that is so unique about this coffee shop is that they have a shelf full of different cups and mugs that you can choose from if you plan to stay to drink there instead of taking it to-go. Also, all of their pastries are baked in-house. They featured a Valentine's menu. I was very indecisive and asked the barista how sweet the cupid's kiss latte (which has white mocha and raspberry syrup) was. She explained that she was happy to change the sweetness if needed. I ended up ordering it, and this was by far such a DELICIOUS latte. It most definitely tended on the sweeter side, but it genuinely tasted like candy and like raspberries. I usually opt for vanilla syrup, but I think I need to start ordering raspberry syrup moving forward! The shop itself is really cute and comfy. It mainly has couches for seating, and I saw (I think) 2 small two-seater tables. They're also celebrating their one-year anniversary next week (February 20-22, 2026). I love coming here, it's cozy, homey, and always has something new on the menu. The March drinks were adorable, and I tried the "Nuts About You" latte (pistachio with rose petals), which felt like spring in a cup. We also tried the Irish cold brew, which was excellent. We were very happy with everything. A large selection of gluten free options are available. You can choose your own glass for your beverage. Super nice people. Very cozy seating. Outdoor seating is also available. What would I change? The place is pretty small. So, it's difficult to go with large groups. On an almost-fall Friday morning, I hung out at The Clove Cafe for close to 3 hours, pretending it was fall, working, and enjoying absolutely delicious coffee and pastries in the coziest, friendliest, most feel-good space. They make gluten free versions of most all their pastries... what! How often do you visit a coffee shop and they have 6+ different gluten free options to choose from? I felt like a little kid behind the glass looking at all the gf choices, all wide-eyed and full of dreams, haha. But truly. Owner and head baker, Kerri, follows a gluten free diet and takes extra care to eliminate as much cross-contamination as possible. I was able to meet her husband (and co-owner) Brian, who told me The Clove Cafe's origin story, how long Kerri has been wowing locals with her gluten free baking, and how important it is to their family that their cafe is known as a welcoming, safe, "open-to-all" kinda space. Up on the wall behind the counter where you'd typically find a menu is this message: "The Clove Cafe is an inclusive space providing delicious, high-quality baked goods that cater to a variety of dietary needs, while providing mental health awareness and community support. You matter." It just feels good to read and to know, and I hope this kind of kindness spreads. It's definitely embodied by (and immediately apparent in) the staff; the owners and sweet baristas alike. On to the coffee! I lovey-love-love the whole setup where you choose your own coffee mug. FUN. Of course you can get your drink in a to-go cup and it'll still be beautiful and delicious, but if you're feeling extra loungey or in the mood to take pretty-coffee-pics, pick a mug or glass that speaks to you. They have a whole wall of eclectic options divided by size: small (8 oz), medium (12 oz), and large (16 oz). I selected a medium-sized, glass, vintage mug with a big handle that made my iced latte look like a prohibition-era rootbeer float. I chose the Oh My Gourd ("Becky look at that latte" was written in the description hahaha), a phenomenal pumpkin latte on their September seasonal menu. It wasn't too sweet at all, the pumpkin pie-spices were all toasty and balanced, and the coffee was nice and strong. They use locally roasted beans from Cherry Coffee in Fort Worth, another stellar woman-owned coffee shop I love. And finally... the pastries. I tried 1 of their scones, a sweet Earl Grey, and a savory rosemary & goat cheese biscuit. I don't know how they do it, but the texture of both was so good.. buttery and crumbly but still moist, perfectly seasoned, and SO flavorful. Gluten free flavor-bombs. I bought a pumpkin chai scone, a pepper jack jalapeno biscuit, and a sweet corn muffin to-go, none of which lasted long in my kitchen.. The matcha latte was not bad but I paired it with butterscotch syrup and that was a mistake on my end, not a great pair and the flavors do not pair well together. The large cup is also on the soft side so I'd be careful with that. A friend and I wanted to grab coffee (not from a big box place), so we tried Clove -- and it did not disappoint! Talk about adorable -- cute seating, charming décor, and super friendly employees. We were a little bummed when we found out they had an event going on and we'd have to order to-go, but thankfully it was a beautiful day, and there were a few outdoor tables available. It actually worked out perfectly! I got the seasonal cider, which was delish, and the daily maple pecan scone -- absolutely perfect and not dry like most scones tend to be. One thing that really makes this place stand out (besides the décor and cozy seating) is their "pick your cup" station! They have a great assortment of mugs and cups organized by size -- small, medium, large. And honestly, everything tastes better in a cute cup, right? My only complaint -- we paid for a medium iced coffee but unknowingly picked a hot beverage cup (I didn't even see the iced drink glasses). Instead of letting us know, the barista just served the iced coffee in the smaller hot cup. Not a huge deal, but it was noticeably smaller, and I wish they'd mentioned it before pouring. The clove cafe is a cozy space with plenty of natural light and a couple of areas to sit inside and outside. Ari greeted me and answered any questions I had. They have mugs ranging from small to large that you can use for your drink. They have pastries and small prepared boxes of food as well. I ordered the sunset chai latte in a medium mug and a mocha latte scone. While I waited for my drink and scone to be heated, I checked out their mini market that had local goods to purchase. They also had accessories for making tea in the front (steeper). They have small wooden hearts where you can write encouraging words and hang them up which was a fun/quick activity. The clove cafe participates in farmer's markets, including the keller one. They have a free library in the front of the store, though it is recommended to bring a book to replace the one you are taking. My sunset chai latte was flavorful, spicy and hot. The mocha latte scone was a good mixture of espresso flavor and sweetness without being overwhelming. I enjoyed sipping my tea while picking a book to read. We attended a special Spooky Tea event here and had such a fun time! The location was a little tucked away but it's right by the NE Mall. The cafe is super adorable and decked out in Halloween cuteness. As part of the event, we were served an orange spice/butterfly pea tea, a new combination for me but I loved it and it's magical watching the tea change color when you add lemon to it. They served us bites on a 3 tier stand- bottom tier: meatballs, hummus, veggies and cute potato skulls with ketchup. 2nd tier had delicious pumpkin spice chai scones and a cute "mummy" glazed birthday scone with butter and jelly & top tier was fruit and the cutest decorated halo clementine. The service was top notch and everything felt like it was done with so much thought and love. After our tea we were able to paint little pumpkins to take home. Overall it was a great event & I was glad to have discovered their location for anytime I'm back in the area-- Only thing I might suggest is maybe arranging the seating to allow guests to interact some & also maybe combining the food onto 1 stand if ppl are sharing to allow for space to paint while having tea (it also lets the paint dry in between conversations) I also ordered food & a dracu-latte to go and they were all wonderful as well. Loved the atmosphere! Such a nice cozy little nook to come to read, have a coffee, and snack on some delicious treats like scones, biscuits, & muffins. I highly recommend the Gingerbread Baby Latte, which tasted like Christmas in a cup! I also had the Jalapeno & Pepper Jack Biscuit (gluten free), which was super yummy! Sarah is such a darling person and made the experience amazing. She's so easy going and fun to talk to! Also, last thing, this cafe focuses on adapting to everyone's food allergies, so there are many options. Agh! I really wanted to love this place. The inside is super cozy and would be an excellent place for someone tired of being home to work or study and get a peaceful atmosphere. Comfy couches and a comfort feel all the way to choosing your own coffee cup. I got the holiday almond cake cold brew. This is where I can't even explain how my experience turned. It was completely undrinkable. I honestly can't put a finger on what it tasted like but I think this is the first coffee I've ever not been able to drink. I got the Spinach, parm, portabella and pepper hand pie this is where my heart broke as I'm a super veggie lover! It had no salt, not a dash of seasoning.... I also got the cheddar scone and it was decent, nothing to rave about however it was not enough to mend the other two main items I was so looking forward to. Wow. I didn't know what to think when this cafe took over the previous cafe, but I am very pleased. The two ladies working during my visit are so patient, chill, and hard working. I think the pastries are baked throughout the day because I saw fresh muffins come out from the back. Woohoo. Fresh!!!!! I got a drip coffee, earl grey scone, and maple blueberry muffin. I really like the coffee. It does have the acid taste that some coffees have, but the "cherry" flavor certain coffees have is strong and that is my favorite. The maple blueberry muffin is fluffy and so well cooked. I am curious about the recipe because my muffin was not a solid muffin texture all the way through, it had air pockets like some breads do. It did not effect the flavor, but I surprised by it. Now, the Earl grey scone, amazing, 10/10, would order a 100 of these! The icing was not overly sweet, and I could see them adding a citrus zest to the icing and amplifying other goodies. The furniture hasnt changed much from the previous cafe, but I feel more comfortable in the furniture layout. Definitely a repeat customer here. read more

I will say that I wasn't a huge fan of the matcha muffin just because the matcha flavor was a little chalky & needed some raspberry, strawberry, or citrus situation to cut through that in my opinion. The muffin was so very moist & excellent texture though. The flavor just wasn't my thing today, so I wouldn't personally pick that one next time unless they changed the ingredients (added something). I am a gluten free girly though & I appreciate the effort to provide good GF baked goods. The iced matcha latte with blueberry ube made with whole milk was too sweet for me, but the flavors were good. They do not have almond milk. They have oat. No one was in there at all... maybe should have been my first clue. All sizes of lattes have 2 shots so I got the small... and boy was it small. Not only that it didn't taste good at all.
