I spent about two hours here working on business plans with a friend, and it was the ideal environment: peaceful, comfortable, and inspiring. My mother in law and I popped in here to get a sweet treats after shopping in the area, and they had some great cake options. Between us we ordered the Black Forest cake (which is one of my all time favorites) it was so yummy. We took home a cream horn for later, very good and we decided to try the Asian pandan cake which is green. Never had it before, it was interesting flavors a little floral and light not my favorite but still good. They were very nice and helpful and everything was a good price. Don't judge a book by its cover, and this applies to this hidden gem bakery as well! I was expecting to see a whole display of cakes when I walk in, but I didn't. It looks like they mainly sell custom cakes for pickups. The interior was very clean and simple with all the plants. I asked if they have any small cakes for sale and she pointed me to this other fridge behind the rotating cake display. There were a couple of small cakes, but I got the Italian Cream and my sister got the Black Forest. The Asian lady was super sweet. She brought us the pieces and some water so we can dine in. The cakes were so light and reminded me of my favorite bakery back in Kansas. The flavors were good and it wasn't crazy sweet either. I wish they had more flavors available so I can try them all to know my favorites. They mainly sell custom cakes so that's probably what I'm going to order for the next family gathering. Custom cakes are around $30-50 which isn't bad judging by the size and taste. I wish they were closer so I don't have to drive an hour the next time I'm craving some French cakes! read more

We decided to give this place a try since their cakes looked nice but we were greatly disappointed. First things first when we got to the place it smelled horrible, think the smell was bleach or something. There was no staff and we had to wait for the worker to end their phone call to get attended. We ordered one carrot cake and one black forest cake. The Carrot Cake was terrible, the cake itself was alright at best but the cream cheese was laughably bad because it had clearly been left out for a while. The Black Forest cake was just alright. The restaurant has more than just desserts and a really cute sitting area, but we got our order Togo because my oldest & husband wasn't with us. This France inspired bakery has a decent selection of desserts. There are plenty of places to sit, beautiful and tall plants for decor and the lady who served me was patient. I ended up getting the almond croissant and a mocha macaroon. If you are paying with card there is a $5 limit. The almond croissant was big and flavorful. Delicious delights await you here! This spot was a nice surprise. It was my first time here. I "needed" some good baked goods. I got the pate chaud, mocha cake, dark chocolate mousse cake, palmier, chocolate pecan bar, and coconut gelatin panna cotta. Yes, I went all out :-) I appreciated that these bakery items are flavorful without being overly sugary sweet. Everything was quite tasty and fresh. The pate chaud made for the perfect breakfast bite. I know I tasted some ground pork in them, but I'm not sure what other meat filling was in them. The pastry dough was buttery and flakey. I am so sad I didn't get pictures, I will next time, but I was so hungry! I got the turkey croissant sandwich and broccoli cheese soup cup combo, a bowl of potato leek soup, two butter croissants, and a creme brulee. The turkey sandwich is excellent. I actually requested no cheese because they only have swiss, but it came with cheese anyway. The swiss was super thin and was actually fine on this sandwich. I don't know what French mayo is, but it really works here, creamy and good flavor. You can't beat these croissants. They're just really good and buttery, nothing more to say about that. I am a freak for soup and these are next level. They aren't powder bases, you can tell just from the flavor and consistency that they're made from scratch. They are so flavorful, bits of veggies, creamy, just great cooking. The potato leek is maybe a tad light on the salt, which is so important in creamy soups to balance the heaviness of a creamy base, but the flavor is there so just adding a little salt to my bowl was an easy fix. The creme brulee was very good. Great torched sugar crust, the caramel sauce under the custard is perhaps a tad too burned but still very tasty. My only real issue was with the custard. There were some little lumps in the custard and it should be totally creamy with no lumps. Not hard to just ignore them, they don't change the flavor, but they should really work on the custard prep a little more. Overall, great experience, will absolutely return for more. read more

There's some outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi. Inside is pretty plain. You'll find a counter for savory items, one for sweets (the one you want), and a fridge with full cakes ready for pick up. There's not much else here, and dessert places like Thierry in Vancouver & even Emporium Pies in Bishop Arts prove you can have great charm to sweets. 1/2 Star. Service - You can place orders in advanced for custom cakes, or big orders of small desserts. Either way the staff is very friendly. They will walk you through the entire customization process, from cake type, size, lettering, etc. It's not a custom cake place where you can create a cake shaped like a TV, etc. But you can do some basic design. Regardless, they're very helpful and make sneak a palmier or two while you wait for your order. 1 Star. Food - I'm not going to focus on the savory items. I come here for the cakes and petite fours. I love their pate choux. I cant get enough of those fluffy pastry with meat inside. they are pretty small and seem a lil pricey but it's so so sooooo good. If you havent had their pate choux or don't know wat they are, you have to have one of those, you wont regret it. The buttery taste of the dough, the fluffiness, and the yummilicious of the pork.
