I really wanted to like this place, but that was not the case. When I walked in, there was no one visible, I had to wait for a few minutes before being greeted. The store was very quiet, I was unsure if someone was in the shop, altogether. Once greeted, it wasn't warm (that's okay), it was more matter-of-fact. Italian Cream Cake: This happens to be one of my favorite cakes, and I couldn't wait to take it home to enjoy. Well, what do I know, it was not edible. Well, I suppose it depends on what you feel is edible vs. not edible. I took two bites and felt like I was eating a Tres Leches cake (the consistency of, definitely not the taste), if I wanted that, I would have chosen a place that is known for desert. After those two bites, I threw it away. Pecan Tart: What was this? Think of a pecan pie, that's what you found under the fruit. I don't know how to describe what that was under it, but it wasn't good and did not compliment the fruit of pecans. I can only assume the cake sat for a bit due to the level of moistness, unfortunately. I will not visit again, but as with most things, I'd suggest trying it for yourself. read more

My mother in law and I popped in here to get a sweet treats after shopping in the area, and they had some great cake options. Between us we ordered the Black Forest cake (which is one of my all time favorites) it was so yummy. We took home a cream horn for later, very good and we decided to try the Asian pandan cake which is green. Never had it before, it was interesting flavors a little floral and light not my favorite but still good. They were very nice and helpful and everything was a good price. Don't judge a book by its cover, and this applies to this hidden gem bakery as well! I was expecting to see a whole display of cakes when I walk in, but I didn't. It looks like they mainly sell custom cakes for pickups. The interior was very clean and simple with all the plants. I asked if they have any small cakes for sale and she pointed me to this other fridge behind the rotating cake display. There were a couple of small cakes, but I got the Italian Cream and my sister got the Black Forest. The Asian lady was super sweet. She brought us the pieces and some water so we can dine in. The cakes were so light and reminded me of my favorite bakery back in Kansas. The flavors were good and it wasn't crazy sweet either. I wish they had more flavors available so I can try them all to know my favorites. They mainly sell custom cakes so that's probably what I'm going to order for the next family gathering. First things first when we got to the place it smelled horrible, think the smell was bleach or something. There was no staff and we had to wait for the worker to end their phone call to get attended. We ordered one carrot cake and one black forest cake. The Carrot Cake was terrible, the cake itself was alright at best but the cream cheese was laughably bad because it had clearly been left out for a while. The Black Forest cake was just alright. I am so sad I didn't get pictures, I will next time, but I was so hungry! I got the turkey croissant sandwich and broccoli cheese soup cup combo, a bowl of potato leek soup, two butter croissants, and a creme brulee. The turkey sandwich is excellent. I actually requested no cheese because they only have swiss, but it came with cheese anyway. The swiss was super thin and was actually fine on this sandwich. I don't know what French mayo is, but it really works here, creamy and good flavor. You can't beat these croissants. They're just really good and buttery, nothing more to say about that. I am a freak for soup and these are next level. They aren't powder bases, you can tell just from the flavor and consistency that they're made from scratch. They are so flavorful, bits of veggies, creamy, just great cooking. The potato leek is maybe a tad light on the salt, which is so important in creamy soups to balance the heaviness of a creamy base, but the flavor is there so just adding a little salt to my bowl was an easy fix. The creme brulee was very good. Great torched sugar crust, the caramel sauce under the custard is perhaps a tad too burned but still very tasty. My only real issue was with the custard. There were some little lumps in the custard and it should be totally creamy with no lumps. Not hard to just ignore them, they don't change the flavor, but they should really work on the custard prep a little more. Overall, great experience, will absolutely return for more. read more

There's not much else here, and dessert places like Thierry in Vancouver & even Emporium Pies in Bishop Arts prove you can have great charm to sweets. 1/2 Star. Service - You can place orders in advanced for custom cakes, or big orders of small desserts. Either way the staff is very friendly. They will walk you through the entire customization process, from cake type, size, lettering, etc. It's not a custom cake place where you can create a cake shaped like a TV, etc. But you can do some basic design. Regardless, they're very helpful and make sneak a palmier or two while you wait for your order. 1 Star. Food - I'm not going to focus on the savory items. I come here for the cakes and petite fours.
