We don't have many beignet shops in the Houston area, despite our much closer proximity to New Orleans than Fort Worth, so it's always nice to see a seemingly authentic place. The storefront is very small up front. There's maybe 3-4 tables, with a counter to order from and a rotating video screen. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. They have a wider variety of beignet options with some specialty items and savory items as well. I opted for a couple of beignet samplers, selecting a classic French Quarter beignet (fried with powdered sugar), a brown butter glazed, and a chocolate glazed. I also grabbed a sweetened cafe au lait and a sweetened cafe noir. Across the board, everything was delicious, though the cafe noir was a bit too bitter for my taste despite having been sweetened.

But boy, did they walk into a situation that really required 2 to 3 food trucks, and they were the only one... The line was long and the wait was longer, but I can't really fault them for that. Witherspoon had a bigger than expected crowd that evening, with some live music and a couple of events (including a Match.com event - that made for some fun people watching). Apparently BMB was told earlier that day that a large crowd could materialize, so they didn't really have time to buy extra food or prep much. But they kept smiling and were nice about it, and everyone went with the flow and it was fine. By the time we finally got our food (made to order for sure - took a while), we were starving. I got the burger (the brisket on a biscuit had run out) and my wife got the special (which I'm blanking on). Both were very tasty. The burger was maybe just a *tad* overdone and the patty wasn't big, but serving it on a biscuit-style bun with some yummy sauce made for a good, hefty sammich. With a side of fries that we shared - which were excellent - it was plenty of food. Value was pretty good, too, particularly for a food truck. I don't think I'd go as far as calling it gourmet like some people have, but it was good and were satisfied. I'd totally order food from the BMB truck again.
