This was my first time visiting. I should have gone over their menu before the drive-thru; they had several combinations to choose from, and it would have been nice to be definite on what I wanted. I ended up going with their Matcha Macaron Latte w/ oatmilk. The macaron foam gave this drink the accolades it deserved. I was able to mix some of the foam in with the drink so it wouldn't be just on top; that was even better. This location has really gone downhill. At first, everybody's really super friendly, but if you become an established customer and you go all the time then they stop trying. The consistency is bad. Some days you get a great drink other days you get a mediocre drink they all make them different and I think they'd all rather stand around and joke with each other and play rather than work. We went to the location in Southlake and we happen to mention that we usually go to hurst and they asked us what we thought about the help there. So I guess the hurst crowd has its own reputation. But I've decided we're gonna give Hurst a rest. I mean, we really only go because our gym is in that general direction but we can go to other coffee shops. read more

I like to try different coffee spots in the midcities area and decided to try Black Rock simply because it's convenient. This place is BRIGHT - tons of natural light from all of the windows - yet warm because of the wood and brick walls. I also loved the mural. The coffee was great. I got my go to cortado. My husband and I came here before meeting up with friends. He wanted a coffee, but I was okay. I love the design - outside and inside. It felt very cozy yet had lots of space for people who wanted to get some work done or meeting up with friends. They had samples on the counter and it tasted like a melted vanilla shave ice (snow cone). It was too sweet for my taste, but others might like it. After waiting several minutes for an Americano, we found out that they forgot our order. Granted, there was a line after we placed our order, but that's no excuse. They were able to correct there mistake within 5 minutes. I feel like the non-coffee beverages are a bit sweet for my taste so I probably won't be back, but my husband might. read more

Had to try because of tik tok. Drive through was very slow and I think because they had new employees. The order was lost so we reordered at the window. The coffee was good and the sweet drink was a sugar bomb and yummy. Overall not bad but slow. read more

I am sad to have to update this review...this location has gone downhill. Today we swung by at 6:10pm and ordered just a regular drip coffee and they told me that they drained the coffee machine already because they close in 50 minutes.... Draining your coffee maker at a coffee shop close to an hour before close seems absurd. This has also happened to me numerous times where I order food at or slightly after 6pm and they tell me the ovens have already been shut down for the day.... This used to be my all-time favorite place but not if they essentially close down an hour before they're supposed to!!!! read more

Recently I had a few brief and blissful moments to myself here at Black Rock coffee over an iced Americano and my laptop. I had just left a nearby appointment and really needed 2 things before I went home: 1.) a coffee, and 2.) time to myself to write a few emails. Black Rock happened to be on my path home and open at 4:30 PM, so I decided to drop in. No regrets! It wasn't crowded but there were a handful of people hanging out with a drink on their phones or laptops. I ordered an iced Americano and my barista was so sweet. My drink was ready in a flash. I cozied up in a plush leather chair with a coffee table and was able to get a lot done in the 30 minutes I spent at Black Rock. I look forward to being nearby again! read more

I came here for the first time and was very impressed! The vibes were very cool and hipster. I had the blueberry scone and a decaf iced caramel blondie, which were both very delicious! Their happy hour drink prices are also competitive. The workers were also very nice. I will be coming back again! read more

We went for opening day and were impressed! Drinks are sweet and pretty much just as you expect. I got the blackout iced and it was good. Staff was friendly despite being super busy. Good amount of space with clean and open vibes. A nice shop overall but just isn't anything overly special. read more

First time, might be back! Honestly, just had a simple drive-thru experience. Service was speedy, and that is exactly what I needed on my way to an appointment. I ordered an iced espresso and blueberry muffin...would order the coffee again but not the muffin. Muffin was salty and was overheated extremely! Coffee was tasty, no complaints. If you ask for a 'european style cortado' they know what you're talking about. Most coffee shop drinks have a shot or 2 of espresso and then fill the cup up with 8 to 10 oz of milk. THAT IS NOT A REAL CORTADO. read more

I have seen black rock in southlake but have never tried it. Since it was a hot day decided to get a midday pick me up. After looking at other locations review, decided to give the popular iced caramel blonde a try. The drive thru staff recommended it as well ofer the blended version. There were nobody in line so service was fast and friendly. The drink was rich and hit the spot. Always willing to give new business a try. A small iced is comparable to most coffee shop except for maybe 151 which is slightly less. read more

My all time favorite coffee bar I almost don't want to leave a review to keep it my secret spot. First the coffee is legit so smooth and packed with robust flavor and the drink choices are loaded ! Lay out is amazing comfortable heavy duty tables to work at, couches and chill spots as well with access to power. I come here 2-3 times a week to work and get things done. Great vibe with great music, spacious and not packed for now (unless you are in the drive up line that seems to always be rolling but no worries their baristas are awesome and keep things flowing). Think nice and great service like Starbucks, Dutch Bros Choices, and 151 Coffee trendy modern hip feel all rolled into one with out the negatives (like 151 no place to sit and music so loud you can't think). Seriously if you are looking for a great spot and amazing coffee you have got to come here so worth it. Oh and shout out to Bethany the Barista there she is amazing cranks out coffee drinks faster than anyone I have seen with a smile and great personality even when she is getting Buried. read more
