The space is roomy with couches in the back, and plenty of people were working or studying, so it has a relaxed, productive vibe. I tried their lavender latte, oat milk latte (extra hot), and of course their drip coffee because you cannot judge a coffee shop without trying the drip. The latte was just as good, creamy with proper foam and a smooth lavender flavor that did not overpower the coffee. The only small hiccup was that we were told the drinks would be brought to our table, but after waiting a bit I went up to grab them myself. I may have misheard, so it was not a big deal. They also shared that the employee helping me was in her first week, which gave helpful context to the situation. As a kind gesture, they sent me a $10 gift card, which I thought was very thoughtful. When I came back in to use it, they recognized my name from the situation and took the time to talk with me in person and explain everything again. That really meant a lot and showed how much they care about their customers. Customer service and communication go a long way, and I'm grateful for the way they handled everything. I'm looking forward to continuing to support them. Old review: Melby's has really great drinks and the atmosphere is honestly one of the reasons I keep going back. It's a cozy spot and the coffee itself is consistently good. That said, the customer service can be hit or miss. The employees often come across as a bit unpleasant, which takes away from the experience. One thing that's especially frustrating is their refusal to allow personal cups. Almost every other coffee shop I visit is happy to accommodate this, and it doesn't require much effort, many places simply set the cup on the counter and pour the drink without even touching it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference for customers who are trying to reduce waste or just prefer using their own cup. I'm always checking their seasonal menu to see what's the latest. You will find fun drinks like "birthday cake" with festive sprinkles; they even have popping boba. The weather is still warm outside, but I had to get my fall vibes on with the caramel pumpkin brûlée latte. The other perk with the app is that you can get a birthday reward. Unlike at Starbucks, I didn't go the day of my birthday, but was still able to claim the reward about two days later. You can also load money on the app, and conveniently pay through there.
