This is one of my old time college faves! When I lived in VA I used to grab a tortilla pizza and/or smoothie all the time after class. This of course was eons ago (despite what it looks like I am old). Not sure that they do the tortilla pizza anymore but gosh darn it that was delicious!! I am so very glad they are still in business. Who doesn't want an icy smoothie when the temps are in the triple digits?! On Friday they did a National Flip Flop Day deal (yeah that's a thing apparently) and I got me a free small Sunrise Sunset. It was just perfect after my long work day and hit the spot. They also have great healthy food options like wraps, salads, and bowls filled with veggies. If you prefer a lower cal/sugar smoothie I am pretty sure they can accommodate whatever restriction/adjustment you need. This is a bit out of my radar in terms of smoothie spots and yes I do tend to make these at home but BOY when you are in a pinch this is an excellent option! I would probably give the food so far a 3 or 4, but the smoothies are reeeally good and that's the main point, right? This was only my second time at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, both times this location. The first time I had a wrap of some kind, maybe the chicken caesar, not long after they opened. Wasn't really remarkable or worth a memory, but it was filling. I also got a smoothie that time but I don't remember which one, just that it was recommended. Today my boyfriend got the Santa Fe quesadilla with the salsa ranch. It actually smelled good and he said it was, which is about a 4 for him. lol I'm on a temporary pureed food diet after some dental work so I couldn't have anything but a smoothie, but I did try his salsa ranch. It was really good. If I hadn't been on this temporary diet I would have gotten the Smoothie and Breakfast combo with the Peanut Butter Banana Crunch Flatbread. It sounds so good. Definitely on my list for when I can have normal food again. lol The highlight of today was the Avocolada smoothie. They are pretty big at 24oz. I would have tried the new edible straws but I can't chew or use straws, so that's also on my list. lol I have never had a smoothie like this before. Absolutely delicious, I didn't add or remove anything, I just wanted to try it as is. So unbelievably tasty, the coconut, pineapple, and lime come through well. I don't like mango or berries much so I am so excited to have found this one. I might try it with Splenda instead next time, and maybe add a powder supplement. I absolutely love this place, I often like to visit before heading to work. I seem to stick to my banana chia w/ peanut butter or the avocado, both are delicious. I have noticed, depending on who makes it, the taste will change slightly. It isn't a change that ruins the taste of the smoothie, thank goodness. I have found going inside when there is a line, tends to be a lot quicker than waiting in the drive-thru so that's my new trend. The only negative: In the early morning, they should always have at least two people. When people buy more than one smoothie or a smoothie w/ a side, that's when the time in the line stacks up and you'll find yourself waiting for almost 5-10 minutes. When people have to go to work, they don't have time for all of that, hence, just go inside and order. Staff is always friendly and are a pleasure to chat with while waiting for your smoothie, I just wish they had more help. Avoid at all costs. Went there and apparently missed the menu at the drive through because I didn't drive around the building from where I entered the lot. Even though there was no one in front or behind me I was told that I had to order at the sign. These dolts made me drive around the building to order through the microphone. When I got to the window another dolt took my money, the window closed before i could hand her my phone to scan for points. I attempted to ask for a scan when she opened the window again. Was told that I had to scan the receipt. I did so, it did not work. I showed the first dolt I spoke with the phone he looked at the phone and me with disbelief. Just go somewhere else. read more

Well, the Hurst TSC has been around long enough to get their act together and they haven't, so I'm giving them a single star and I won't be back. I will go out of my way to go to the locations in North Fort Worth or Dallas rather than coming to this one that is actually much closer. I've had TSC in Orlando, Miami, Dallas, and FW and this one is the most poorly managed location. This is the only location where I've ever seen only one person working! The food is good because apparently the recipes are followed consistently, however,​ I shouldn't have to wait for excessive amounts of time to get my order. I came here on a Saturday morning and only one person was working. This person was doing their best to hustle and juggle taking multiple orders and making all the food and drinks. I'm not disappointed in the young people that work here doing the best they can, but I am disappointed in whoever the manager or franchise owner is! They need to reconsider​ how they schedule people and make sure that people are supervised. This is the second time I have been to this location to find only one person working with a long line of customers! Upon entering the cafe, there were two tables of four people already sitting. I ordered 2 smoothies and a chicken flatbread sandwich. There were only two people working the entire cafe including drive thru. The cook prepared each order one by one so one of the 2 tables with four in there party was only getting one meal at a time. I have been so excited to try this place and am so disappointed unfortunately. Placed an order online at 1:13, it was supposed to be ready at 1:33. My son went in to get the order and came out without the 3 smoothies we ordered. We then waited almost 20 minutes for our smoothies and one of them was not correct. I probably would have given 3 stars if the food was at least decent but they came up short there as well. The smoothies all seemed watered down and the Caribbean Jerk Bowl I orded was pitiful. I really do like this place. They have great smoothies and even better food. What I don't like is their app and it's "customer service." I ordered a smoothie on the app to pick it up (a 10 minute minimum wait just in order to get the points), when I was in a car accident on the way there. Needless to say I never made it to pick up my smoothie so I contacted them to ask if I could get a refund. They responded no and told me that if I file with my bank to try and get the funds back that it would be a lengthy process and they would shut off my access to the app for several weeks. You have your teenagers doing WAY too much for the minimum wage you're probably paying them, and they're doing a fantastic and friendly job at it. However, if you don't get them some help - idk maybe even consider getting off your arse and throwing in a helping hand - they're going to burn out and your business will fail. Okay, here is a new place with potential, but they better hurry up and and get their act together or they'll just be another "here today, gone tomorrow" establishment. Been here twice after receiving promotion coupons. Good location, but that's because no other business have moved into other parts of the building. Drive thru runs behind back of building and into oncoming traffic, not ideal but it works with what they have. Service is terribly slow but new employees may be part of that but my gosh by now it shouldn't take 17 minutes to make one sandwich. And speaking of sandwich's, hope you like bacon, 80% of their food offerings have bacon. Really, why does a place that touts healthy smoothies off so much bacon? The chicken sandwich would have been great had they put more chicken on the sand which rather the teaspoon portion. Spreading out the chicken didn't even cover the one slice of bread. Pathetic! Decided to check out the place after a family member recommended it. Neither myself nor my man had ever been here so we were first timers with no idea how everything worked. The lady at the counter was super helpful and everyone we had contact with was very nice. I decided on the Santa Fe chicken quesadillas and he went for the Baja chicken bowl. We were both pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, hot and mine was cheesy, yummy. They even let us get our smoothies after we ate so they weren't sitting, warming up and melting while we were eating. He got the detox island green super smoothie and I got the sunrise sunset(think that's the name) smoothie and we both loved them. I went to tropical smoothie today for lunch and ordered two meals and two smoothies. It was $25. I love tropical smoothie. Their food and smoothies are always great! But it's 30 degrees outside with non stop heavy rain and I drove 15 minutes out of my way on the freeway and witnessed three accidents just to get home and have the one incorrect wrap. I love getting my Chia Banana Smoothie! Today I arrived right after getting off work. Got in line waiting my turn, everyone left and I'm still there waiting for my drink. The girl that was making it I'm guessing was probably new because she was following the directions on her paper, sadly she had to dump the first one out and start all over again. The best part of this place is their willingness to omit any ingredients or and anything to make you the smoothie. I went here while doing a juicing and smoothie cleanse. Sat at window until 11:37 when I was then asked what I had ordered. My order was shouted to another employee who then began making it. 23 minutes after ordering I received my smoothie. Also, they have upgraded their mobile app. They no longer have ability to pay via app. It only scans the QR code on your phone to earn points and you just pay separately. Well we will continue to hope our preferred smoothie place wises up and opens a location closer to home. We had never heard of a tropical smoothie cafe before this location ... and had hoped to have a place using more real ingredients vs powders. Unfortunately when ordering I didn't notice the powders when ordering and my smoothie was very chalky even with it being blended decently. Without a coupon or deal they are equal if not slightly higher than other places. I'm somewhat interested in their food items but unfortunately with the wait we had for smoothies I'm glad we just ordered smoothies not food, as someone who ordered right behind us ended up getting vouchers to come back due to the length of time it was taking him to get his order. (We had our smoothies and had drank about half ... as well as two or three orders after his had come out.) We might give them another shot here after awhile, particularly if in the area and need to kill time ... but we wont be regulars if powdered ingredients is the way they go. read more
