Pho One has good food. I got the vermicelli plate with grilled pork and some tofu spring rolls. Both were very tasty. The peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls was really good. I ended up putting some of it on my vermicelli plate. The sauce that came with the grilled pork had just a tad too much fish sauce in it for my taste but that might just be me. It didn't take very long to get my order. Maybe 25 minutes which seems standard. I got my food to go but the inside of the place is really nice. I've been frequenting Hurst a lot lately. My favorite spot to eat is at Pho One. This is your place for authentic Vietnamese food. You can just tell by the music they're playing in the background. The pho broth is clear, flavorful, and not greasy. The meat (rare steak) is so good with the pho. Pho noodles are chewy, just the way I like it. If you're not into pho, I also enjoy their seafood rice noodle and egg noodle soup. The warm broth is perfect for the gloomy/chilly weather. Service was phenomenal. We're always seated immediately. The server asked for our drink orders right away. Having my toddler with me, they even provided us scissors to help cut the food into smaller bites. Alright, where to start? I wanted Pho for dinner and looked for a place close to where I worked, this pulled up. I wish I had chosen something different, this was such a letdown. Seafood Pho: This was horrible and I mean, horrible. At least, the protein was. The broth was very delicious, I'll give them that. For that, I added a star. The crab, imitation crab, was not edible. I don't know what type of imitation crab it was, but it was not edible, to say the least. The shrimp was the same. It was overcooked and again, not edible. Better yet, all of that seafood was not edible. Beef Pho: Now, for those of you who commented on the raw meat (delivery/pickup), think about that for a second. The steak is very thin; if they put that in with piping hot broth, by the time it reaches your home, it would be overcooked and not enjoyable. The steak pho broth is very good. With the meat, they added the sauce to cook. Shrimp and pork spring rolls: Surprisingly, the seafood in the pho was horrible, but the shrimp was very fresh, and it was delicious when it came to the wrap. The service was quick but not in a way that made you feel rushed. The restaurant was clean, and felt welcoming. The music was a bit clubish but I didn't mind at all. It was nice to vibe and enjoy a meal. I ordered the combination bowl of pho and a springroll appetizer with shrimp and pork. About the meal, the broth was clean and flavorful! Of course the traditional dishes like Pho, vermicelli dishes and Banh mi's are delicious but it has been a great joy to be adventurous and try new treats from their menu. First I sat myself which is fine bc the waitress was mopping, no biggie. I wasn't really greeted just swatted to a table. I orders fried rolls and a small steak pho. I should have left when I got the sprouts, lime and so called basil. The basil was not fresh, it was dead, dead! I asked for fresh basil and extra lime and the waitress said it was all like that. When the rolls came out they tasted stale like they refried an old order. The pho was okay but very greasy, phone should be clear not greasy. The steak was ok, but the extra lime and fresh basil I asked for never came. I had to get up and go to the front counter bc the waitress never came back to check on me. I'm really disappointed with this last order. Yes I've ordered here before and it was good. This one was disappointing. They had the Phô rib eye--more money and nothing special--it took a while for the broth to "cook" medium rare; I had to heat the soup for an additional 3 minutes for it to be done to my liking--medium rare. The broth is short in taste and seasoning, I had to use more oyster sauce. Very disappointing. The spring rolls we do thing and just all wrapper. I probably won't order here again. Been to this location many times but today's visit was the worst. We waited almost 10 mins for the one server working to acknowledge us, sitting there. There were only 2 other tables in the whole place so it should not have taken him that long to get to us. Food came out quickly but appetizer and meal came out at the same time. There were employees eating in the restaurant listening to their phone very loudly that was a rooster sound the whole time. It was very annoying and distracting. This place was recommended to us by a Nguyen so that's when we knew we were in for something good. Interior was clean and the staff were welcoming and fast. I ordered a beef stew with egg noodle and oh my god - highly recommend! It's hard to find beef stew in general on a menu at a Vietnamese restaurant because it takes so long to make, so whenever I see a beef stew on the menu, I always have to try it. This one definitely did not disappoint and could definitely compete with what I consider the gold standard for Viet food in the area - ba le restaurant! The flavor was rich, meat was tender, and noodles were bouncy. My husband ordered his go to - bo bun hue - and he said that even though it did not have pork blood, it was still delicious. Table had a nice swath of grease. Cleanliness is not at the top of their list perhaps? The server doesn't seem to speak much English or maybe doesn't understand. He stared when I asked him a question about the food. The pho bowl was just okay. Nothing to write home about. Price 16.99 for sub par food. No other service was offered after we ordered and got our food. It's our first experience here. We will keep looking for a place that takes pride in what they do. Ambiance is tables and chairs and music is rather turned up, but luckily low key otherwise. Is this a place they must be tried? Nope. You can skip it in my opinion. Great medium ground for Vietnamese everything is good but not great. Love the rice plates which you can't mess up and the Pho combination as well. Pho one is also not that expensive so whenever I crave viet food and I'm home I'll usually come here. We got the Pho Tai Nam-- while the broth was very good, I though the meat was different than what I'm used to.
