Rude and untrained staff. First off, if you know its getting busy at the front, hostess should've told guests to either leave their number and wait in the car or maintain the crowd by moving crowd off to ONE side of the restaurant so they can wait there not being in anyones way. Staff apparently was not trained properly in controlling a crowd thats waiting for a table. There were 2 staff who did not say excuse me, but just screamed "COMING THRU" and waved her hands in a "shushing away" motion to us like we're little kids. The same exact staff did it TWICE. When she was confronted at the open kitchen section, a male staff who appears to be the manager, instead of apologizing or deescalating the situation, made things worst by saying "you cant be in here." Dude, its an OPEN kitchen. Nonetheless, wasnt a fan of the shitty customer service so we left and took our business somewhere else where staff were actually TRAINED to maintain the crowd waiting for their tables. read more

First and foremost, The waitress was pleasant but did not come back to the table after she took our order. It was three different people that came to the table to assist. I ordered a medium well steak and it came out rare.. The broccoli tasted like there was still soap on it from it being washed. I wanted to order another drink but wasn't presented with the opportunity. The bread that gets put out at the beginning was hard. Was waiting for the check for 30 minutes after requested. This place is so good and so consistent. Their rolls alone are worth going there for and their salads are surprisingly good too. The steaks are almost as good as a premium steakhouse. My only complaint is that they often run out of prime rib, but their ribeye is sensational. It's no wonder there is a line to get in the place every night while other restaurants are closing. I love that atmosphere of this place and would work great if I was driving thru Texas. But this location has a corporate feel to it like they are following the franchise rule book. Yeah I love the large alcohol drinks like I was on vacation, but they could be a little stronger. The main issue I have with the food is it's very Salty. To the point they put pepper in corn side dishes. I get the old restaurant trick to over salt so you buy more over priced drinks. The second issue I have is the prices are way to high. I've been to this texas roadhouse many times it has a very nice atmosphere and amazing staff everyone is very attentive and very nice. However, they definitely need to clean there floors more often they are always disgusting and sticky and there is a lot of trash under the tables the tables themselves are very clean though. Food was very good I got the grilled BBQ chicken it was great. If your looking for good food and your in the area definitely stop by. read more

Waited for food once again, told reason was kitchen staff walked out, Huge turnover of employees in this place. Food came out but not for all, some food was cold, one steak looked like a hockey puck, waited for waitress to ask for missing food and send back cold food. Cold food taken away, missing food arrives, 5 people and we ate in shifts. The cold food still not back and everyone is done eating. Waitress went and got manager, he comes over with food in hand this is over one hour from being seated. I explain I don't want the food, he states he doesn't want me leaving hungry, I said it's late I will have cereal when I get home. He says take it home, I don't want this food, but he won't take no for an answer which makes us very uncomfortable so we say wrap it up. Find out this man with zero customer service or people skills is the owner. Now I see why there is such a large turnover. Hot dog for the child is cold and not cooked Steak asked for medium well is a hockey puck Beef tips cold Kids steak was cold but he didn't complain Kids Mac and cheese, horrible not touched One steak came out perfect with broccoli hot and beautiful!!!! 1 out of 5 dishes was perfect! I understand from years of first-hand experience what it takes to develop, train and maintain a corporate hospitality strategy. It's not easy. Texas Roadhouse on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie continues to impress me. The food is good, the service is wonderful in a family-friendly environment and the details are maintained (restrooms are clean, display windows are monitored, call-ahead seating app works, etc.) I have not patronized the bar yet but if the bartenders put forth the same effort and sincerity as the rest of the staff, I'm sure it's worth sitting on a stool. The wait is ridiculous. Doesn't matter if you call ahead, you're still waiting 30-60 minutes. Obviously their kitchen can onlt handle 1 order at a time. That's not a Chef and I'm surprised how many times we have had to send food back because they could handle 1 single order without screwing it up. My first time was my last time. TAKE OUT is LONGER than being seated (30-60 mins avg) see above. Whole families waiting. If they made less mistakes, they might stay in business. We have TGIF, Chili's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings and a plethora of small food businesses in direct competition. WE WENT TO THIS TEXAS ROADHOUSE and was disappointed. its absolutely nothing like the one in Danbury Ct. This place was very dark once inside, the lighting wasn't that great and the atmosphere was not good, and even the music we could not even hear. My order was over cooked, and long wait. Going back to the Danbury's Texas Roadhouse which is excellent inside and out. We had the best time! It was our first time and it did not disappoint. The steaks were on point, and the ribs fell off the bone. The bread was to die for and I had a special affinity for the mash potatoes with whipped butter. And to top it off, warm apple pie and ice cream. I love some Texas Roadhouse and this location has not disappointed. We have gone several times here and the taste and quality have been consistent. On this visit I tried something new: country fried chicken with gravy and I added smothered mushrooms and onions for $1.99. this meal was delicious! If you go before 3pm they have items for early dine and this was one of the options. The food was more than I could eat which means leftovers! With the bread you are served immediately upon sitting at your table they are sure to make you happy. Our waiter was very polite and my favorite type of waiter... He was there to check regularly on us before we needed something but not there too much to where it was annoying :). You can pick your own steak you would like them to cook which is kind of cool as well! Definitely not the first time I've been to Texas Roadhouse but most certainly will be the last!!!Had to wait 45 minutes for a table (I get it... the restaurant can be busy) however when I'm seated and forgotten about without a menu or the complimentary bread when I'm trying to eat and order fast to not hold anyone up after a long day, I begin to have problems. This wasn't even the start of it, my girlfriend and I ordered the same meal, same way cooked. Somehow one of us get a well done steak that is about half the size and when we question it the waitress recites back both our orders and does notice it is well done, and brings the manager over. The manager of this restaurant offered a new steak for the table but not without an extreme attitude everytime she stepped over to talk to us. She also didn't fail to give her facial expressions when we received the wrong meal and complained about it. I'm not one to complain, I usually don't care but this restaurant genuinely made me install yelp and talk about my experience. I strongly believe the staff at this restaurant discriminates against people who appear younger trying to enjoy their night as somehow throughout the night I read about 4 other people also complaining about their service and the way they received their order who were all around my age. I don't believe it's their waiters and waitresses fault I believe the management is overworking their staff as I also know people on the staff team! Horrible service. We waited 40 minutes and saw people walking by us. They were very snotty and all on their phones.

Although we've been to other Roadhouses, this is our first visit to the closet one to home. We arrived early enough for the Early Dine specials which was a great help to our pockets. We went for dinner on a very busy night in December 2017. Waited 10 minutes as told by staff it would be. A+ Under our table was a fairly large spill of white liquid that was not caught by staff which had to be cleaned after we seated. Service went quickly and smoothly. Food was very good. One steak came back well done (thin ribeye which is tricky to cook right) and was Addressed by the manager who walked by our table asking how did the steaks come out. After hearing so much good feedback about this place from friends and seeing all of the positive reviews, I finally had the time to go and check it out for myself tonight! Starting from the beginning, we barely had to wait 5 minutes. We were seated promptly and brought a basket of DELICIOUS bread. I ordered the sangria margarita which was ridiculously good! I could tell from there that it was going to be a good experience and I couldn't be more right. We had a free appetizer, the cactus blossom and it was so good! My fiancé ordered the t-bone with a baked potato and salad & he fully enjoyed it! I got the country fried chicken with sides of salad and chili which were also realllyyy good! FYI: there are free peanuts by the door that you can eat while you wait for your table. they also serve their sides in separate mini dishes so they don't touch the steak. WHAT I GOT: 12 oz prime rib with loaded mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables PROS: you get what you would expect at this place. The whole atmosphere is extremely family friendly and feels cozy. The steak I ordered was cooked to the medium rare I requested and the loaded mashed potatoes were deliciously smooth and buttery. Obviously all of it faired on the heavy side (considering the cheese, sour cream, and bacon on the mash) and I couldn't bring myself to finish all of it but what I had was good. The steak was also bursting with fat, which literally melted in my mouth. CONS: so I know the peanut shells on the ground is kinda part of the aesthetic but it wouldn't hurt to clean up a bit more. Also the vegetables I ordered tasted bland as heck. Not exactly worth it but I needed some kind of vegetable to balance all the other stuff I was taking in. FIANCÉ'S CORNER: its Texas Roadhouse, comfort food extravaganza. I ordered a dry aged ribeye, medium rare that was clearly left raw and definitely not dry aged as it was extremely chewy. I am very disappointed and disgusted, I would not pay more than $2 for the steak I got. Otherwise, the mashed potatoes were okay and green beans were mediocre.
