Daily specials are posted behind the bar. Two TVs for your viewing pleasure. Plenty of seating given its relatively small size. And a great selection of local and regional beers. But what really sold me was that as we walked through the door the bartender was carrying a bowl of water for my small dog to one of the tables. Along with a dog biscuit. Food? Other than dog biscuits I'm not sure. I didn't notice any snacks available but I didn't really look. There is a small assortment of soft drinks. But what will really bring me back next time I'm in town is the hospitality the bartender show to my small dog. Jax and I thank you.

Everyone I talked to was kind and knew their stuff without ever being pushy. Whether you're grabbing a cider to go or just hanging out for a bit, it feels easy. Even if you're not drinking, they have options, which I really appreciated. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to come back -- not just for the drinks, but for the vibe.

I noticed there's only about a dozen spots to park in and not much in the way of street parking. I have to admit this venue is actually a lot smaller than I imagined. When you walk through the door, you'll find that it is a small 700 square-foot space with a 6' bar which features a few home made ciders on tap. They also have a nice selection of organic wines and nonalcoholic beverages, but no beer. In case you're wondering, you can actually rent this room out for a private party for about 30, but probably not more than 40 of your closest friends (I recommend car pooling). If you rent this space, then you can bring your own beer which their license permits. They do have two relatively clean unisex bathrooms and a few picnic tables outside. I also hope that it sticks around after other breweries in the area have closed recently (RIP Oskar Blues, Circle Brewery, etc.) There is a food truck outside, Spicy Boys Chicken, that specializes in Korean Chicken. The menu is limited but I did find everything that we ordered to be very tasty. Back in the cidery, I loved that they had a wide variety of options to choose from including NA drinks, zero sugar drinks and other ones as well. It seemed like there was something for everyone. On Thursdays they host Geeks Who Drink Trivia which is pretty fun to participate in with a group. If you've played their version of trivia before, you'll know that its pretty entertaining even if you don't have the most trivia-inclined groups. I very much enjoy having this wonderful establishment in my neighborhood and I hope that it sticks around for a long time.

After dinner, we stopped for Fiorella Friday and ended the night at Hill Country Cider House. It is a really comfortable space. There are a few tables in the main room, with extra rooms available for overflow. The guy running the bar had a strong country warmth to him and was clearly knowledgeable about every cider they were pouring. My parents and my girlfriend all ordered the hot cider made with their 'Tis the Season cider, I think. They all really enjoyed it and its warmth. I ordered a cider mule, which was also excellent.
