time i was called

i made reservations over a month ago for Valentines at 7:30. when i got there -at 7:30- i was told it was going to be a 20-30 minute wait. There were no apologies offered, simply 20-30 minute wait and we'll call you when your table is ready. we waited for a little bit and ultimately left. i got a phone call almost an hour later telling me my table was ready- i was already at another restaurant, seated with a beverage. i really try to refrain from writing negative reviews, however this was so so disappointing. i had been looking forward to this dinner for some time.. ruined our night.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! I recently celebrated my 55th "Double Nickel" birthday at Texas de Brazil Addison, and it was absolutely unforgettable! The food was delicious, the room was beautiful, and the service went above and beyond. Our family and friends raved about the experience, and we are truly grateful for the warm hospitality that made the evening so special. Highly recommended for any celebration!

Tip: Always use the reservation system on OpenTable to avoid 1* hour waiting time. I'm here pretty often and each time has always been stellar. Although folks say the meat here is a bit salty, it's way better than Fogo. The meats are super tender and juicy. The savory salty taste paired with the smoky flavor is really addicting. I recommend the flank, bacon wrapped filet, and lamb. Don't be afraid to ask for more than one piece of meat on your favorite cuts. That and if you like your meats rare, the servers will show you different cuts. The salad bar itself is good enough on its own. I love the lobster bisque and the couscous salad.

This place is probably one of my favorite Brazilian steak house! We went this Thanksgiving and enjoyed it once again. They have the best buffet with the best meat choices. The place is big but its always super busy and filled which I like because it shows that the place is good. Our server during this Thanksgiving we went was always on top of things (refilling water, taking away finished dishes, asking us if we need any special request of meat). The only downside is that the parking lot is super limited so if you go during busy hours, it's hard to find one and end up doing valet parking.

We had a 4:00 reservation on Mother's Day and we weren't seated until 5:00 - over an hour after checking in (we checked in at 3:45). I understand it's a busy day, but what's the point of a reservation if you're going to be made to wait that long with zero acknowledgment or apology. We were told that they "overbooked" and that's why we had to wait so long. Once we were finally seated, it took another 15 minutes before our waiter even came by. We ended up helping ourselves to the salad bar because we were starving. He eventually took our drink order, and just a few minutes into our salads - while our meat card was stilled turned to red - we were suddenly being served meat with no clean plate or sides (bananas, mashed potatoes, fries...that we had to ask multiple times for). When we were finally ready for meat and had our card on green, we were ignored repeatedly. The servers skipped our table over and over, serving all the tables around us. It got so bad, the table next to us actually had to call the manager over because they also weren't being served any meat. Texas de Brazil, I get that it was a busy day, but do better, at least apologize for the long wait and inconvenience. You overbooked and clearly couldn't handle the crowd - and the service suffered big time. We felt completely overlooked.

Picanha bits

Meat service is lousy. We were asked what we liked we said picanha, lamb chops. We got chicken and sausage and salty spicy steak over and over. 30 min later we are still waiting after repeated requests. When it finally arrived the chops were tiny but tasty and although the server had a fill skewer of picanha he gave us little bitty shavings and bits.

I mentioned, in my last review, how badly things went. I also mention that was not typical for my more than 20 years of eating here. In fact, we have been back about 4 times since our bad experience and frankly, things are back to the way they were, great! In the off chance you are not familiar with Texas de Brazil, it's basically all you can eat meat, brought to your table where you pick out what you want or turn down what you don't. Three different choices of the lamb, too many choices of beef to mention, several chicken options, as well as sausage. The house special and bacon wrapped filet are our favorites! The service here is always excellent, water glass, never gets less than half full. They have great drinks of all kinds as well as great wines. It's a slightly darker atmosphere, feels very upscale, however, many people show up in shorts and flip-flops. Of many of the recently opened Brazilian style steakhouses, it's slightly less for around $50 a person and if you're a senior, there's a discount. I highly recommend going there, it is worth the bit of a drive from where we live in Grapevine... even in rush hour traffic!

The extensive self-serve bar.

For the most part, I consider myself pescatarian. I seldom eat any meats other than fish but I still really enjoy Texas de Brazil. I only get the salad bar, so my review has a huge omission since this is clearly the place to eat meat- but for all of you who are tag-a-longs to people who do eat meat, I have great news for you. Texas de Brazil has an extensive array of foods on their self-serve bar that are phenomenal and are more than enough to comprise of a hearty and fulfilling meal. Among my favorite items from the self-serve are the buffalo mozzarella, couscous, rice and beans and of course- the exquisite Lobster Bisque. It's my favorite LB and I make sure to indulge in a big helping of it every time I go. Everything here is great, you cannot go wrong. Also, the desserts are top-notch as well. This most recent visit I had the Crème Brûlée and it was perfection! The decor is slick and is really elevated. However, most people were dressed in shorts and tees. So even though the atmosphere suggests more upscale, the vibe is casual. Overall, for someone like me who only eats from the salad bar, Texas de Brazil is still a great experience and value. Bring your appetite and you'll leave happy!

Friendly staff and good options. It's a bit hard to find the meat you're looking for but you can ask the staff and they'll bring it out to you.

Buffet food was not hot enough to be safe. Meat was good, but meal was overpriced for the noise and lack of ambiance.

Does anyone know why this location has been closed for two days?

I’m sure it’s the weather and the icy roads.

Are the servers still wearing masks?

yep! was just there 2 days ago.

Has the salad bar re-opened to being self serve again? Or is it still closed and you have to pre-order your salad?

Yep! Reopened a couple months back, missing a few items (like the sushi), but the majority is the same.

Even when we weren't sure about which appetizers we wanted she allowed us to split appetizers- a small portion where we got to try the apps. We tried the tenderloin crostini which was delicious. Along with coconut shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous. And the sauces were so good. Our fav was the mango marmalade. The best bread I have ever had in my life!!!! You know how sometimes they bring a roll to the table for the table to share? Not here boyeeeee Each person gets their own roll. I don't even know how to explain this heavenly bread. It truly is the best beard I have ever had before. I would come eat here again JUST FOR THE BREAD. The crab cake is out of this world. Huge jumbo clumps. Also comes with a variety of sauces. The wasabi one was our favorite. You must order the crab cake! My husband got the ribeye rare and said it was the best steak he has had, and he eats a ton of steak. I got their off menu item of carne asada tacos. The meat was sooooo tender. They don't use flank steak they use a tenderloin and it just melts. The mushrooms were Devine. Glad I ordered the carne asada. The adult Mac and cheese was good but just good. Brussels sprouts were good (not the best I have had) but I think I was also just so full by this point. The asparagus is huge!!! Oh the best finisher ever- the peanut butter pie!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a dessert girl and I couldn't stop eating it. First time me and my husband were fighting over the last bite.

As my family and I enjoyed our brunch, we couldn't help but notice almost the entire staff scrambling for supplies and glassware to reset. As a former restaurant manager, I believe the staff was incredibly under supplied for the amount of reservations that were taken. Glassware for water and butter knifes for pastries were almost scarce after a certain time. Overall my family was treated wonderfully but I would advise management to supply their restaurant better if they're going to do as many holiday reservations as they do.

It was a great spot to start the evening. I kicked things off with the calamari and escargot, both were delicious and a strong start to the meal. For the main course, I split the filet and the ribeye special (non dry-aged) with a friend so we could try both. Both steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly, but I'd give the edge to the ribeye for flavor. On the side, we had the garlic mashed potatoes and the mushroom risotto. The risotto was easily the standout. I could have had two plates of it without hesitation. Overall, this is a great steakhouse with a great atmosphere and very attentive staff. Everything from the food to the service made it a memorable night. Would definitely come back.

That combo sounded right up my ally. We were seated right next to the window view kitchen, which is always fun to watch the kitchen do their thing. Our server was great and kept those fresh glasses of crispy Diet Coke coming nonstop, which I appreciated. We decided to split two things, the brisket specialty pizza and a pasta called strozzapreti with chicken and pine nuts, plus about three mushrooms and four pieces of spinach in a creamy sauce that definitely leaned into the over-indulgent side. I really wanted to love this place, but it landed a little off the mark for me. The pizza threw me at first because the BBQ sauce was honey mustard instead of classic red BBQ. My brain was expecting one thing and got another. Once I adjusted expectations, I liked it more, but that first impression stuck. The pasta looked beautiful but was very one note. It was rich, creamy, and heavy, but not in a way that made it worth it. If I am going all in on a cream based pasta, I want it to be ridiculously good and worth every single calorie. This one just did not quite get there. I will admit my expectations might be part of the problem. After spending 10 years in NYC and 30 years in the Bay Area, my bar for Italian food is pretty high. This just did not quite live up to what I was hoping for.

My wife ordered a prickly pair cosmo that lacked everything from flavor to even the sense of alcohol being in it.
