time i was called

i made reservations over a month ago for Valentines at 7:30. when i got there -at 7:30- i was told it was going to be a 20-30 minute wait. There were no apologies offered, simply 20-30 minute wait and we'll call you when your table is ready. we waited for a little bit and ultimately left. i got a phone call almost an hour later telling me my table was ready- i was already at another restaurant, seated with a beverage. i really try to refrain from writing negative reviews, however this was so so disappointing. i had been looking forward to this dinner for some time.. ruined our night.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! I recently celebrated my 55th "Double Nickel" birthday at Texas de Brazil Addison, and it was absolutely unforgettable! The food was delicious, the room was beautiful, and the service went above and beyond. Our family and friends raved about the experience, and we are truly grateful for the warm hospitality that made the evening so special. Highly recommended for any celebration!

Tip: Always use the reservation system on OpenTable to avoid 1* hour waiting time. I'm here pretty often and each time has always been stellar. Although folks say the meat here is a bit salty, it's way better than Fogo. The meats are super tender and juicy. The savory salty taste paired with the smoky flavor is really addicting. I recommend the flank, bacon wrapped filet, and lamb. Don't be afraid to ask for more than one piece of meat on your favorite cuts. That and if you like your meats rare, the servers will show you different cuts. The salad bar itself is good enough on its own. I love the lobster bisque and the couscous salad.

This place is probably one of my favorite Brazilian steak house! We went this Thanksgiving and enjoyed it once again. They have the best buffet with the best meat choices. The place is big but its always super busy and filled which I like because it shows that the place is good. Our server during this Thanksgiving we went was always on top of things (refilling water, taking away finished dishes, asking us if we need any special request of meat). The only downside is that the parking lot is super limited so if you go during busy hours, it's hard to find one and end up doing valet parking.

We had a 4:00 reservation on Mother's Day and we weren't seated until 5:00 - over an hour after checking in (we checked in at 3:45). I understand it's a busy day, but what's the point of a reservation if you're going to be made to wait that long with zero acknowledgment or apology. We were told that they "overbooked" and that's why we had to wait so long. Once we were finally seated, it took another 15 minutes before our waiter even came by. We ended up helping ourselves to the salad bar because we were starving. He eventually took our drink order, and just a few minutes into our salads - while our meat card was stilled turned to red - we were suddenly being served meat with no clean plate or sides (bananas, mashed potatoes, fries...that we had to ask multiple times for). When we were finally ready for meat and had our card on green, we were ignored repeatedly. The servers skipped our table over and over, serving all the tables around us. It got so bad, the table next to us actually had to call the manager over because they also weren't being served any meat. Texas de Brazil, I get that it was a busy day, but do better, at least apologize for the long wait and inconvenience. You overbooked and clearly couldn't handle the crowd - and the service suffered big time. We felt completely overlooked.

Picanha bits

Meat service is lousy. We were asked what we liked we said picanha, lamb chops. We got chicken and sausage and salty spicy steak over and over. 30 min later we are still waiting after repeated requests. When it finally arrived the chops were tiny but tasty and although the server had a fill skewer of picanha he gave us little bitty shavings and bits.

I mentioned, in my last review, how badly things went. I also mention that was not typical for my more than 20 years of eating here. In fact, we have been back about 4 times since our bad experience and frankly, things are back to the way they were, great! In the off chance you are not familiar with Texas de Brazil, it's basically all you can eat meat, brought to your table where you pick out what you want or turn down what you don't. Three different choices of the lamb, too many choices of beef to mention, several chicken options, as well as sausage. The house special and bacon wrapped filet are our favorites! The service here is always excellent, water glass, never gets less than half full. They have great drinks of all kinds as well as great wines. It's a slightly darker atmosphere, feels very upscale, however, many people show up in shorts and flip-flops. Of many of the recently opened Brazilian style steakhouses, it's slightly less for around $50 a person and if you're a senior, there's a discount. I highly recommend going there, it is worth the bit of a drive from where we live in Grapevine... even in rush hour traffic!

The extensive self-serve bar.

For the most part, I consider myself pescatarian. I seldom eat any meats other than fish but I still really enjoy Texas de Brazil. I only get the salad bar, so my review has a huge omission since this is clearly the place to eat meat- but for all of you who are tag-a-longs to people who do eat meat, I have great news for you. Texas de Brazil has an extensive array of foods on their self-serve bar that are phenomenal and are more than enough to comprise of a hearty and fulfilling meal. Among my favorite items from the self-serve are the buffalo mozzarella, couscous, rice and beans and of course- the exquisite Lobster Bisque. It's my favorite LB and I make sure to indulge in a big helping of it every time I go. Everything here is great, you cannot go wrong. Also, the desserts are top-notch as well. This most recent visit I had the Crème Brûlée and it was perfection! The decor is slick and is really elevated. However, most people were dressed in shorts and tees. So even though the atmosphere suggests more upscale, the vibe is casual. Overall, for someone like me who only eats from the salad bar, Texas de Brazil is still a great experience and value. Bring your appetite and you'll leave happy!

Friendly staff and good options. It's a bit hard to find the meat you're looking for but you can ask the staff and they'll bring it out to you.

Does anyone know why this location has been closed for two days?

I’m sure it’s the weather and the icy roads.

Are the servers still wearing masks?

yep! was just there 2 days ago.

Has the salad bar re-opened to being self serve again? Or is it still closed and you have to pre-order your salad?

Yep! Reopened a couple months back, missing a few items (like the sushi), but the majority is the same.

The servers serving the meat were not as experienced as Fogo de chao but it was practically the same thing for lower price. We appreciate the detail they had serving our table. The salad bar was nice and clean. They had extra hot sides in metal trays so don't miss those! I probably didn't eat enough but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a lower price Brazilian steakhouse or for a small special occasion. There was one meat I didn't care for but again when you're paying for all you can eat you at least try them all. the others were awesome and they would cook them to your preference too.

We've had trouble with some places not being ready yet, but there were already a few families ahead of us ordering the meats. The ambiance is a big open dining room. There are nice pictures of Brazil on the wall and some Brazilian music playing in the background. The place was clean and had no smell other than delicious food being paraded around. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. We never even got close to running out of beverage, which is a huge win in my book. The salad bar itself was nice. They had the typical assortment you would expect to find at a place like this, but they had an added hit bar with sides and even a few meat options available. The best bite of the day was the dessert plantain. It punched me with so much flavor and texture, I will have to be back just for that. All in all we will be back. Next time with bigger appetites because the meats looked on point. I'm sorry it took me so long to find this place!

I love the layout of the inside. It's open concept so you can see the chef cooking the meat in the kitchen from the main dining room area. There's also a neat, well designed hand washing station in the hallway that leads to the restroom. Overall ambiance is good with sufficient seating, though on the smaller side. What's different about this restaurant is the variety of meat dishes they offer. I've eaten at plenty of Brazilian restaurants in the DFW metroplex, but never have I ever seen chicken hearts, brisket, beef ribs, ribeye, shrimp and so much more in the rotation. For the dinner to have been $55 with tax (& me ordering an espresso shot) for the high quality cuts I am super impressed and certainly recommend others to dine here vs the other more mainstream establishments that are always advertised. I also really enjoyed their salad/hot bar...though not the biggest, there was a nice selection of sides to choose from. All in all I really enjoyed the service & food here and definitely see myself returning soon.

We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.

Save your money and head over to Saltgrass or something similar…read more I love great food and have no issue paying what we did at this place, if it's quality. We ordered a few things. My wife ordered a prickly pair cosmo that lacked everything from flavor to even the sense of alcohol being in it. I ordered the old fashioned, and I tasted old, like to use the whiskey in my Grandpa's, lowest shelf possible. And my grandpa didn't drink. The food we ordered was the seared tuna and a pasta with triple plate with a corn side and the green beans side. The tuna was absolutely amazing I do have to say, but unfortunately the broccoli florets were salt here than the dead sea. The pasta My wife ordered was overcooked to the point of being hard in some places and the shrimp seemed to undercooked. The signs were pretty good.I'm not gonna complain , but they were nothing to write home about. I do have to say though the service was absolutely amazing comma the young lady who took care of us was very attentive cordial and was there at every turn. Even the people at the front desk , the hostess table were absolutely wonderful, This place could not be knocked on their service, that was the best. We were there for a pre valentine's dinner. And like us, many people took advantage of the night before. It wasn't too loud.It was just right , it was actually a very enjoyable atmosphere.
