We went here for my birthday. I was disappointed in the quality of food. What we ordered: Kids cheeseburger and fruit--did not get fruit, but fries instead Steak Philly with baked potato, chives, sour cream, and butter--no butter, but cheese (cheese is too harsh on my stomach) 8oz. Steak well done, with fruit--steak too dry and spicy Steak Salad--steak was like roast beef and ice cold--made my friend super sick. She threw up in the parking lot. One of the worst experiences we've ever had. Too bad because the food is delicious, it's the service that is atrocious. You have to order and tip before you sit down so you have limited control over what happens once they have your money. We kept waiting for our food and drinks, asking the waiter what is happening. He said be nice and nice things will happen. He then took our receipt and never came back. We went to the bar three times to pick up our drinks and there was no one behind the bar. The food and drinks come out 50 minutes later and the waitress comes with an attitude claiming we were only waiting 15 minutes and that they're very busy (there we're very few customers since we got there at 4pm). The general manager then comes shoving a receipt at us saying the ticket came to the kitchen 15 minutes prior. We had been there over an hour at this point and his system issues should not be the customers problem. We also had a to go order that we had to ask for many times, and then it was sent to the wrong table. We watched the hostess seat another group at a table and tell them the salad and sodas left on that table for 40 minutes was their order. We had to tell them it wasn't, it had been sitting there. Then, we asked for a copy of the receipt since the waiter took our copy and the general manager starts yelling for us to get out. They are clearly understaffed and running the few people working ragged so that many mistakes happen. The GM does nothing to de-escalate or make it right, do better Andrew! read more

Walked in was asked to wait which was no problem. Young lady came up greeted us asked what we would like. Didn't bother to ask us if we were dinning in or to go. Gave us a table after we placed our order and paid. Someone brought out drinks, then our food came. No napkins were on the table or offered no Silverware were offered or given. So I had to get up and ask for it my self. No one asked us if we needed anything else or how we were nothing. I had to get up again and ask where to get my own refill? Not happy at all! We have gone to Texas Cattle Co multiple times, we have always enjoyed it. Tonight we took my son and his wife since they had never been We didnt have a huge amount of time for dinner, about 2 hrs. So we got there, were barely acknowledged as we stood waiting for a seat. They had a party booked in one room but no one in the center eating area. Finally got a seat and our drinks ordered and from then on we were ignored! No one came back to take our order. After 30 minutes of no waitress I got up and asked if we even had a waitress. The girl that set us at the table wouldn't even meet our eyes. A guy came over to say they were very busy because of the party (if you book a party, bring in extra help). I told him we were done, we were leaving since they obviously didnt have time for us. My son's steak was a little more on the medium rare side than the "moo" he ordered, but he said it tasted good. I had the Six Shooters - taquitos. Very good stuff. Haven't been in awhile so my big dumb butt goes be bopping in at 7:59PM completely oblivious they close at 8PM. Owner takes my order and shows me to my table. I'm doing stupid stuff on my phone while I'm waiting and I notice after about 10 minutes that they turned the lights off in the bar area. Now I'm not the only diner, there were 3 or more other tables with patrons. My food comes out the server had a giant smile asking if I need anything and if everything is ok. Which it was. After a couple minutes the owner stops by to check on me. At no time did I feel pressured to hurry or leave. They were giving great service as if it was 6PM. I used to work food service at the old AVI coffee shop and dining room and know the feeling of someone coming in just before closing. I appreciate the service and the food was tasty. Food was good. We ordered the Houston. Service was absolutely terrible. The wait to order when there was no line and few patrons in the establishment. 10 minutes to get our drinks. The couple who arrived 15 minutes after us got drinks also received their food before us. We never received refills on our drinks. We went here because we were in the area. Decorated nicely, western style. My wife and I each ordered a dinner salad. They were pretty large with several items on top, and the spicy ranch dressing was very good. I ordered the chili size which was served open faced, covered with chili. They cooked the 8oz. patty perfectly. My wife had the baby back ribs and liked them very much. I would definitely go back here in the area again. read more

Haven't been here in years and I agree with a lot of the reviews that the ordering at the door is not my cup of tea. I feel like for a $12 Burrito at Chipotle, fine, but a steak dinner, not so much. I was here with a group, so they did seat us and let us order off of the paper take out menu. I do love the new bar and large open space. The GM is very nice and seems to like his job and care. Service not great. No refills, never picked up plates or anything as we sat after we were done eating. Now to the food. I got the Pulled pork sandwich. For me I love that it had no BBQ sauce and it was just to the side. I love to enjoy the smoky, flavorful, pork flavor. It was missing all of those. Had some fatty pieces and it tasted like it was cooked in liquid smoke. It was so overbearing that all you tasted was smoke. French Fries were good and crispy. Small bit of cole slaw (very small to add to the top of the sandwich, not as a real side) was fine. A couple people in my group had Salads, which were a nice big size with large chunks of chicken, but not sure how they tasted. Overall it would not be at the top of my list, but if someone I was with really wanted to try it, I'd probably give a salad a try. read more

So i was out and about talking with my girlfriend about how theres not a place with decent tri tip out here (my girls from santa maria so its a BIG deal out there and after i tried it, it VERY understandable why its such a big deal there) i had someone who said their family in law owned this place. I asked for it medium rare and it came well done 2. each slice had enough pepper on it to cover a whole tri tip 3. Ribs were just OK but i wouldve smoked em a while longer. I like mine falling off the bone and flaky ^__^ 4. Chicken was very dry and skin was hard 5. The mash potatoes were watery and the cheese on top was thick and hard 6. beans were very sugary 7. 3.50 for a drink to go is WAAAAAY too much. Thats practically the cost of a small case of soda for a cup.... Their service was fine and the staff was cool. The decor was odd in some spots (they had a spot were they sold purses and lamps...... get rid of that) but its a sitdown restaurant. Theyre all like that really. Just wish the food was a lot better considering i spent $55+ for me and my woman to be upset is just a sad thing to have to experience when dining out. Oh, and before i forget, they had these cookies up front for sale. My girl bought one and broke me off a piece. It tasted and smelled like chicken bullion VERY strong.... and it was 2$ lol. Safe to say i aint comin back unless they make some serious changes in the kitchen. Staff is fine but a restaurant is supposed to be all about food and this place misses the mark for me. This place gets two stars because the staff were at least friendly. We got quick refills of our sodas, that's always a plus. We did have to ask for silverware, but all in all, the friendliness and effort of our server was appreciated. But I have to say, the food was definitely one star! I got the bacon wrapped filet, I have NEVER seen so much fat on a filet! And the charred taste of the steak was overwhelming. I expected a much better quality for a 31 dollar steak! My husband got the ribeye and he felt the same way about the charred taste. We both had mashed potatoes as a side and they tasted like an instant potato mix, and like warm at that! The food was good. I had the French dip. There was no cheese or onions. The au jus bowl was only a quarter full but I made it work. The problem was the service. I asked for onion rings instead of fries. I pointed it out to the server and she immediately grabbed our check and said the French dip has onion rings. I had to make her look at my plate. There was no apology. After she brought my onion rings without saying a word, that was the last I saw her. She never came by to see if we needed anything or for refills. My family decided to choose their once in my lifetime family reunion there yesterday "Labor Day". The place was very quite mid day when we arrived. When we booked the visit there, they made mention that there was a min per person/extra charge for the private dining experience. 1) $30 for a filet mignon? Steak wasn't worth $12 at Denny's. To have to use A-1 sauce and still not do anything is sad when you're a Texas themed establishment. Steak came wrong and real rare and they sent it back to what seemed to be microwaved vs. a new steak. When someone is paying $30 for a steak, attention to detail should happen. 2). Service was horrible. Main server was chewing gum the entire time and smacking her gum while we were trying to order. Where's the dedicate and professionalism? 3)Baby Back Ribs.... Horrendous!!! These are worse than a froze food package and a McRib taste better! 4) having to ask multiple times for items missed in or order. One item was for my little nephew for his desert, we asked 4 times and then had to track down our server who went on her lunch break. Overall this place lacks any sense of quality it once had when they had multiple locations. It reminds me of a scene in Bar Rescue where they try to save a joint from going under. R.I.P. To this place. It looks like the rest of the shopping center... empty. At least their rent is probably inexpensive. The worst of all... Went for lunch. Food was good, but the service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes. We had 5 people in our party. We were on a time limit, so we asked for our food to be given to us in to-go boxes. Thought we would end the year with Texas Cattle Co dinner. All I should say is that, I hope the meals I have in the new year is BETTER than my last meal of the old year! Ordered the TriTip and Rib combo and the TriTip and BBQ Chicken combo. The TriTip, both meals, was over cooked, tough, and very dry. Very little meat on chicken and what was there was dry and overcooked. The ribs, although very meaty, was dry, over cooked, chewy, stringy and ate only part of 1 rib and half slice TriTip. My son said the chicken was like someone else picked off the meat, but left the skin and bones in tact. He did eat a full slice of TriTip, but rest went to the dogs! $70+ to feed the dogs because it wasn't decent to eat! Strawberry Lemonade was ok. Too much seasoning salt on French fries. Beans taste like canned. Bread slices looked like they were squeezed and smooshed together. Over all, NOT a pleasant experience and will not be back! read more
