We love Hawaiian food and Ono did not disappoint. We walked in during dinner rush, they were very fast in getting our three meal order. I pulled together the Island Fiery chicken, one of many great dishes from Ono, a must try, I am not a big fan of rice so I ordered a full plate of steamed veggies, they were amazing, extra large portion of broccoli and cabbage, I tied it all together with a side order of Fried Fish, great tasking batter and fish, huge portions, I shared it with my family and we all enjoyed it. We also ordered the Katsu chicken combo with mac salad and rice, very nice fry of the chicken with a very nice side sauce. Within the indoor seating area on a side wall you will find a sauce station with containers, so many choices, we had plenty of house side sauce, hot mustard and spicy sauce. The interior was clean and inviting and well as the staff, they were very friendly and quick to assists us. I think we have found our new local Hawaiian BBQ spot. read more

The experience that I experienced there every time I go, it's terrible. They don't know how to get the orders. They're rude. They take 20 minutes to give you your drive-through order the food. I think this is a pretty solid spot. I came here on a Friday night a week or two after they first opened and it was packed. People having trouble ordering caused a bit of a backup. I ordered a Hawaiian BBQ mix. The food came in just around 10 minutes. They have pumps for teriyaki and katsu suace. Napkins are given with the trays so if you are eating in you can't clean the table you claim until your food arrives. The meat itself was very tender. I like the mac salad a ton and wish that portion was bigger. The veggies in this order is mostly cabbage and a few pieces of broccoli. They don't overload on the rice which I appreciate. read more

We went on the fifth at 4:30. We ordered three Hawaiian barbecue mix. The total was $56.70. We only went here because the other Hawaiian barbecue place was closed for the holiday so we thought we'd give it a try because the first time we went, we got really sick. We went to the drive-through paid came home. One of the mills was completely burned. The chicken was completely blackened. My daughter couldn't eat it the rib it was half of one. It wasn't even a whole one with three bones, super thin overcooked, and then the other meat was in there. I don't know what it was, but it was also burnt the other two males was completely chopped up and mixed together like it was supposed to go somewhere else, but then they just threw it in our box. No spare ribbon in that one at all the other one had a piece of chicken. It's some meat. I'm guessing it was beef and a spare rib. The whole entire meal one know we couldn't even eat because it was burnt. Everything tasted like fish. absolutely disgusting will never go back again. read more

What a classic experience. I haven't been here in a long time and both the food and service remain consistent throughout all of their branches. They answer your questions, tell you about the different items. When asked they go into detail and help you customize your plate for your liking. If you have a good appetite and ready to chow down, this is definitely some good comfort food. This branch had some different design elements that I haven't seen in other places before. Let me start by saying I enjoy Ono Hawaiian BBQ and their food. I have them in Los Angeles all the time so when I saw they opened one in my hometown of Lancaster I was very happy. Although, the two times I've been here they've shown an incompetence in management. The team here does not care about service and they all have attitudes. I'm one to always be compassionate and considerate even during long wait times anywhere, I'll never rush the service teams but this place has an attitude stemming from management. The first time I tried this Ono in Lancaster I asked the lady if I could have a minute to look at the menu. She gave me an "uhh" then when I said hello she didn't answer. I thought maybe she didn't hear me so I said I was ready. Nope, nothing. Then I even pulled out of the drive thru thinking it was the sensor that didn't detect I was there anymore like some drive thrus have. I pulled out and went to the left lane. Nothing. No response. Another car pulled up and they answered immediately. So I pulled up to the window and she looked annoyed and gave me an attitude. She said they don't take orders through the window but she told me while giving another "uhhh." This time today, the manager took our order. Worst attitude ever! I even asked how she's doing and she gave an attitude and asked me to pay. I figured she's having a bad day and I understood. She messed up my entire order. Gave me someone else's order entirely. I didn't realize until I got to the other side of the city! Almost 20 minutes away. I came back in and she gave her coworker a look like she knew what I was about to say. She gave me attitude and asked what I wanted. I told her she messed up my order and she immediately knew which one. She grabbed the bag from the back which had our correct order and she refunded my card then said she had to charge me for the correct food. I asked for a discount or anything since she made me drive back across the city. Without hesitation she said no and asked me to tap my card. I gave up, she was just disgusting. My brother was hungry so we just let it be. We noticed the food was cold and asked if they could heat it up. She said no but they could remake it then said it would take 30 minutes because it's backed up. She just kept making it difficult with the attitude. I'm always nice to any service team but the manager here is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and loves to waste people's time. Maybe she gets a thrill out of it, who knows at this point. The bbq mix is my all time favorite when eating at any Hawaiian bbq spot and this place definitely did not disappoint! It's been long coming, but it is finally here -- the grand opening of Ono Hawaiian BBQ! The building itself is squeaky brand new and this location has a drive-through (very convenient). Once you walk in, you can tell the inside is very modern from the furniture. They also have plentiful of inside and outside sitting so they have options on how you want to enjoy your food. :D I got your standard Hawaiian BBQ, and it was delicious. The first time we came here was the week it opened. We ordered the short rib, chicken and crab rangoons. The food was really good and it came out pretty fast. I had a little problem when ordering, the cashier put in for 6 pieces of crispy shrimp instead of the rangoons. I noticed it right away on the receipt and told her. She insisted that I said shrimp but I didn't. She did fix the order but didn't refund the price difference, which isn't that much but still. The place was clean and nice. The second time we went we ordered the Grilled chicken breast and grilled spam and eggs. We went through the drive thru first but we noticed not everything on the menu was showing and saw it says limited menu on top. We ordered inside and the grilled chicken takes a few mins longer to make. Apparently some other menu items as well. Anyway really good food again, will always be coming back to this spot. read more

The only issue I have with this location is that you cannot order the fish plate through the drive-through there's no actual reason why I understand that it takes a while to cook, but couldn't you just pay and then come around to pick it up from the inside? I don't know I just think it's so weird that you have an option for something on your menu, but you cannot order it through the drive-through. read more

My BBQ chicken was dry and over cooked, the Katsu chicken was the same, the Kailua pork was too salty and my crispy shrimp overcooked from being fried. How my came after three other people behind I had no idea. After getting my order I drove home with the food I sat down to try it all. I am a disabled senior, I can no longer cook for myself, and I order food from this restaurant through Postmates. The food is delicious and fresh, and healthy, it has been one of my go-to spots since I discovered it through Postmates, but there is a very annoying problem with the servers. They often forget my drink and recently forgot both the drink and the katsu and crab rangoon sauces. I can recall at least five times that this has happened within the past month. As a matter of fact, I have actually held off on ordering from this restaurant more often because of this problem; at least twice in the past week. So now they are losing business over the problem. I order the Make It A Meal selection, and I always include a note telling them what kind of drink I want and ask them to PLEASE not forget the sauces, but it happened again tonight. I didn't get my drink, and I am SICK OF THIS. Do I REALLY have to call them every time I order and remind them to not forget my drink or the sauces??? Apparently so, and this is not acceptable. I called the restaurant to complain, and the snippy waitress told me that she would hang up on me if I didn't keep it "civil." Yes, How Dare I express my frustration that you have messed up my order at least five times now out of seven or eight orders and it keeps happening. Sorry means nothing coming from you people. Last time it happened, I didn't get my refund from Postmates, so you basically stole from me with your incompetence. I don't want to call and be angry; I have PTSD and that is not good for my health. I've tried being nice and the situation still occurs. It's not the first time that I have called to complain about this particular problem. So, when is it going to stop, Ono?? I don't have this problem with other restaurants in the area as frequently as I have it with yours, Ono. I really want to be a frequent and loyal customer, but your employees are making it increasingly difficult. Please don't try to excuse your behavior by claiming people make mistakes once in a while. This is not happening "once in a while," this is happening frequently. And it needs to stop. As I told the snippy waitress, I used to be a server, I have at least 20 years experience as a server, and there's no excuse for this incompetence. Read the customer notes, don't forget the sauces and especially don't forget the drink!!! It's not rocket science!!! You need to better train your servers or hire better ones. I would much rather be sitting here enjoying my meal and my drink rather than composing this review in frustration while my food gets cold. read more

The spam musubi wasn't that great... I felt like it was pretty dry compared to other ones I've had. The beef and chicken were good. When they first opened up this place was really good, seems like they lost their spark. Ruby... horrible horrible customer service. This girl is working the register and can't even smile. Another customer walked in after me, complained about getting no utensils and her exact words were "I don't care!" Ummm, maybe you're in the wrong business. Being brand new the building is bright and clean. There is plenty of parking as it shares the corner of 15th West and Avenue K. There is also Chick-fil-et Taco Bell, Dutch Bros., and Sprouts Market sharing the corner. We went at lunchtime and they were doing a brisk business. We were greeted with at least a half dozen "aloha"s. Our server went to great lengths to explain the different options available. To try as many different flavors as possible my son and I each ordered a two item combo. The two combo special didn't come with macaroni salad and we wanted to try that. She suggested changing the way I ordered so that it included a large drink and macaroni salad. Of course this turned out to be way too much food and we had to bring half of it home. The first plate had Katzu and Spicy Fire Island Chicken with rice and salad. The second plate had Teriyaki Chicken, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken with rice, cooked cabbage and broccoli, and macaroni salad. The food was fantastic. Very flavorful. Off to the side of the order counter they had several sauce choices. I noticed Katzu sauce, Teriyaki sauce, Hot Mustard, and Hot Sauce. The Katzu was nice and crispy and went great with the sauce. The Spicy Fire Island Chicken had a little heat (the guy at the next table found it too spicy) and lots of flavor. The Teriyaka Chicken had no sauce (you had to add your own) and was very tender. My only critique is that the pieces were large and we were not given a knife. The Hawaiian BBQ was tasty but could have used a little more sauce. The cabbage was fantastic. The salad on the first plate was one of the best salads I have had in the AV. The macaroni salad was mild. Overall I think this is a great addition to the fast food market. We spent $36 but we had enough for another two meals. read more

This is the second time we've had an issue at this location, but today tops it all. I decided to place an order through the app. I've done it once before, but didn't realize it saved the card, so when I ordered today I didn't realize it was placed to my credit card. I called into the store (8:06pm) and spoke with a young lady to inform her that it didn't ask me for a payment method and the card numbers it showed after completing the order weren't familiar to me. I gave her my name, and she told me, "I don't see your name in the system so it must not have gone through." "Perfect" I said and we placed a second order and I hung up. I then called back immediately after checking my online banking app and realized the card used is my credit card (8:13pm). I wanted to update and apologize. While explaining the girl who answered the phone hung up. I thought the phone disconnected, so I called back (8:14pm) and when she answers again I said, "I'm sorry were we disconnected, because the phone just hung up?" Her response, "No I hung up so I can go to tell them what happened" to which I responded, "Oh, it would have been nice for you to conclude the phone call before just hanging up in my face." I asked if all was well with my order, she said yes, I apologized again for the mix up and we hung up. Fast forward to 8:40 when my husband arrived home with our order. I open the containers and the usual neatly placed scoops of rice and macaroni salad were thrown into the trays. So messy. We ordered three different protein and one of them was incorrect, actually a double of the lemon pepper chicken with messy squirts of teriyaki thrown into the trays. I called back again 8:49pm and spoke to an employee by the name of Rabecca. When I asked for a manager, I was told there is no manager in the store. When I asked for cooperates number she placed me on hold for 3.5 minutes and then returned to tell me she's sorry this happened and she was not the person i originally spoke to although she literally sounded just like the young lady whom I spoke to all previous occasions. I had family over for dinner, this meal was 62.00, and it was an honest mistake. There was no need to be rude and purposely sabotage our meal. Update: The cooperate number provided goes right to a vm that is full. Website is not corporate and there are no leads to cooperate individuals such as emails or numbers. read more

The food is great here but the drive thru is horrible! They have two separate lanes to order from and for some reason they kept on skipping me! And letting the second lane continuously skipping us & taking there order. And keep in mind I've been patiently waiting for them to ask me what to order! They let 5-8 cars skips us and still nothing! So I had to call them that I I've been waiting in drive thru since 9:05pm-9:50pm got at the drive thru @9 and I've been at order station since 9:50pm and I ended up getting my food @10:05pm and they also didn't seem to care that they had a whole line behind me waiting and customers complained that was I holding up the line.
