Pescadería Big Fish is a hidden gem in the Antelope Valley!…read more From the moment I walked in, the service was on point, friendly, helpful, and quick. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The seafood was fresh fresh... not just fresh on paper, but you can taste the difference. I had the catfish and red snapper, and both were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Exactly how it's supposed to be done. We need to support spots like this. There are not many "You Buy, We Fry" seafood places left out here in the AV, and this one deserves more love and more business. If you want good portions, real flavor, and great service--tap in with Pescadería Big Fish. I'll definitely be back. #SupportLocal

It's hard to find now. Most local fish markets don't even carry trout in the Antelope Valley; however, when I called the shop earlier, the person who answered said that they had some in stock, and I was quite surprised. When I walked in, it seemed like there was a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, and the owner, who calls himself 'Fish,' was giving out free samples of deep-fried octopus with hot sauce. Quite tasty actually. He was really nice and personable. He was able to give me some trout and also another fish called 'whitey' or 'whiting,' which he cut into fillets for me to take home. The prices were reasonable, too. They have a big menu with lots of options where you can order any fish and they'll fry it for there for you. He then offered to give me the head, spine and tail of the trout for free- to give to my cat. I thought that gesture was really sweet of him. My little girl was quite satisfied when I brought it back home to her. Thanks, Fish! I'll be back.

If I was in the restaurant you'd give them. Was the thought in my head) dude must have heard my mind cause he said I'll include since your order is so large. The tray of tacos that were supposed to be a mix of 3 hard shell ground beef tacos, 4 asada, 1 chorizo , 1 shredded beef and 3 chicken with soft shells turned into 6 hard shells with burned beef (maybe) and 3 hard chicken shells. The Albondigas Soup didn't even come with the rice and cilantro! My sons Pescado Tostada de Ceviche and Camaron Tostada de Ceviche didn't have the actual tostadas so I am really wondering if they forgot to give us a bag. The posole Don't have any radish or cabbage to add to it. And my daughter in law tossed the tamarind out cause she said it tasted spoiled . My hard not soft shelled chicken taco had bones in it. Please the pic! But note my mother who's currently sick said her Albondigas soup tasted ok to her. Let just say for the $$ I spent I am very unhappy!! I am thinking of calling the inspectors about the taste and freshness of this food as I am already feeling funny. I implore you to stop and rethink then change destination's before heading to this place. I ended up having to eat a bowl of cream of wheat cause my stomach felt funny.

Butcher paper are placed on our tables with menus following. We ordered Boba, strawberry smoothies (our smoothies weren't quite sweet enough, and something was missing to make them the best they could be), and Sprite (in a bottle). We also ordered two lobster tails, which came with two corn and two potato sides and Combo Grilled Platters. The lobster tails were generous, packed with meat and flavor. Rolling Crab offers a variety of flavors: Rolling Crab Classic, Louisiana Cajun, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Butter. Bibs and gloves are available, and you can choose the lobster tails mild, medium, or super spicy, or go for the original. They come in buckets. The Combo Grilled Platters were generous portions, though we wished for more shrimp. The flavor was excellent, though. The restaurant was clean and cozy, with a small space that could easily accommodate a large group. We didn't feel rushed at all, even though it wasn't packed. We noticed a lot of takeout orders, but overall, the service was great, and the food was delicious. We're definitely planning to return!

More concerning, however, was a serious issue regarding safety and how my family--particularly my child--was treated by staff. During our visit, my toddler was standing next to her high chair when employees were running through the restaurant. One employee fell and immediately blamed my child for the incident. I was present and witnessed the situation clearly. My child was approximately four feet away and was not involved in any way. The employee tripped on her own, yet responsibility was placed on my child. If the placement of a high chair in that area posed a concern, it should not have been offered or placed there to begin with. At no point did any staff member, including the manager, ask if my child was okay (especially since they thought she was tripped over) Instead, blame was directed towards my toddler, which made me feel unwelcome and judged for simply dining with a baby. Also if she really was tripped over- they did not care about her at all. This shows: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR GUESTS. A server came up to us and expressed how she was the blame despite not seeing what had happened. These employees are running up and down. That is why she tripped. This is my my toddler (thankfully) was not harmed. I hope the waitress is okay though, clearly this company does not care about safety much- as she kept working after. We spent over $150 during this visit, and the overall experience left me feeling that this establishment is not family-friendly. This is particularly disappointing, as families should feel safe and respected while dining. Due to this experience, we will not be returning, and I will be sharing this feedback with all friends and family. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately to prevent similar situations in the future. Maybe a training on where to put high chairs, how not to run in an establishment, and how to speak with respect towards others would be a good start.

It is all made to perfection and there is not one thing we don't love. For about $32 dollars you can get Havana Bites, it is a taste of some of their great items. It comes with Beef & Chicken Empanadas, Papas Rellenas, Platanos Fritos and Yuca Frita all served with Rico Sauce, which is so great. All of their empanadas are great and you can get just one or a bunch. We often get some to take home. The Papas Rellenas is so good and so nicely priced. It is two mashed potato balls stuffed with Cuban picadillo, then breaded and fried to perfection. I love potatoes so I love to get this. We also take these home. They heat up so well. The service is great and they are very friendly. Parking is easy and there is not usually a wait. I am not sure if they take reservations, so call them and check. I ordered the Mar Y Tierra which is Rabo Encendido and shrimp served with rice, black beans, and plantains. The Rabo Encendido was actually quite spicy with a pronounced chile kick. (I am used to the dish being more on the savory side rather than spicy.) This was definitely a "tail on fire" experience. The oxtails were tender and plentiful in regard to portion size. There was a good mix of oxtail sizes. As the portion size was generous, there was plenty enough for three meals. Shrimp had a crisp, snappy texture which came with careful preparation in an alkaline solution. This was a good shrimp enhancement. There was an ample portion of shrimp in the dish as well. The black beans had a good flavor but the accompanying steamed white rice could have used a bit of seasoning to overcome the inherent blandness. Plantains were ripe and cooked tender with a caramelization on the edges. Mar Y Tierra was pricey at $49 but the generous portion size of the meal made it a good value. The restaurant itself was comfortable and understated in its decor. The outside patio is larger than the interior dining area. It was nice to dine outdoors in the patio. Service was good with friendly staff. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Parking is plentiful in the lot.
