The food is delicious, I ordered the #4 combo which is a nice brisket sandwich with a side of baked beans and a soda, they actually offer many different options for the sides such as fried Okra, and much mire. I've tried the Okra before and it was fabulous, this time the baked beans caught my eye and my tastebuds were pleased. All their good is very tasty and fresh. Service is good as they prepare your hot plate as you order it. The place smell wonderful if not intoxicating, lol. After my initial Yelp review, they asked me to reach out. I sent them an email in which they asked me to explain the situation. All communication stopped when they asked me for a receipt number and I'd let them know that it likely had been thrown away but they had cameras they could check that possibly had a time stamp (given it was about 11:30 that day, info they already had, they could just use that info too). Management reached out for information rather than provide an explanation or solution. Over 5 emails were sent back and forth for really no reason. The point we reached was based on a weak effort towards customer engagement. Food was mediocre at best but given the experience I will not be coming back. read more

The flavors! And great service! We had the loaded baked potato and chef was happy to modify it as I am lactose intolerant, put the sour cream on the side because my wife isn't! We got the original bbq sauce and found that if you drizzled a little on the loaded potato made the flavors sparkle. The brisket was tender and delicious. The cheddar jalapeño sausage was too tempting and I did have a couple bites, the casing snapped when bit into and slice level was perfect. The pork ribs were tender and Smokey. We also got collard greens which were cooked to the perfect tenderness, candied sweet potatoes which were not too sweet and flavored with cinnamon, and coleslaw which was pretty basic. I added a bit of bbq sauce to the coleslaw and it improved the flavor. Free soft serve for dessert! Great food, excellent service, we willl be back! read more

The "Homemade Dressing" is a fraud. Im BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK from Harlem, New York. My southern grandparents taught me how to make dressing. That wasnt dressing at Dickeys. That was boxed Stove top STUFFING mix. A "follow these easy steps" on a box mix. And to keep it fair. First, let me start off by saying that I have been a residence of Lancaster Palmdale for almost 30 years. I have come to love every opportunity of trying new barbecue spots within the new valley and there are a few. I recall when Dickey's first opened in Lancaster. I visited a couple of times and the food was decent. However, my visit to Dickey's yesterday was one of the worst experiences I've had with any barbecue place in this city. I ordered à la cart. Smoked sausage and brisket along with the double order fries and a drink. My total was $44.00 (which I believe is a little on the high side). When I receive my order, I noticed that the portions were very small and the link and brisket appeared to be very dry after biting into the sausage my belief was confirmed so I didn't try to brisket which was looked the same. After contemplating for a few minutes, if I should bring this up to the Manager's attention, l flagged down a gentleman that was passing by (who was actually the gentleman that prepared my food) , I requested to speak to a manager His response was that he didn't know if the manager was there. He addressed the issue to a young lady that was at the cash register which appeared to be annoyed by the request. A few minutes later a gentleman appeared from the back of the kitchen and asked if I needed to speak with him. I said yes if you're the manager, he indicated that he was so I showed him the briskets slices and the sausage as it appeared on my plate. He immediately said that the brisket looked terrible and he would remake it for me, however he he made no mention of replacing the sausage after waiting a few minutes he did return with a small black plastic container and placed it in front of me, I opened the container to observe three slices of brisket that mirrored the one's prior with the exception that it appeared that it had been dipped in some type of juice. I close the plastic box finished up my fries and left the restaurant. I want to say that I have and always will be a supporter of Lancaster Palmdale restaurants, but the way this situation was handled left me rather perplexed instead of addressing the issue I feel that it was simply masked. I would hope that in the future that would be a greater concern for your customers. The reality is we are the ones that makes or breaks your business. read more

I just ordered from this place and the customer service was cool. I asked for burnt end "rib tips" for anyone who knows how to bbq. It was my fault for not checking the food before leaving. I got home and all I had was a lot of brisket which was ok and my other two side orders. When I called back to tell them I didn't have my rib tips the , guy told me that burnt ends to them is any meat, wth. After some back and forth and them not wanting to admit my order was wrong, he had the nerve to tell me I can order more food. After more back and forth, they offered me "3" rib tips. We ordered food for delivery this last Saturday night and we were so disappointed. I ordered a 3 meat combo and was shocked at how small the portions were for each choice. At first I thought food was missing. Then I realized all 3 of my meat choices fit in a single entree section of my to-go box. In my photo I had moved the brisket over to one of the smaller sections. I got barely two slices of brisket, a small scoop of pulled pork, and just 2 ribs. The 3 meat combo costs $35. The food tastes fine but the meal felt like such a rip off. Our total bill was over $100 for two combos and a kids meal, and we could have spent that elsewhere and had leftovers for the next day at least. So disappointing. The food was very disappointing. The meat was dry, and honestly the beans were the only thing that stood out as good. For the price, I expected much better quality. Portions are extremely small--they weigh everything, so you definitely feel like you're not getting your money's worth. A friend and I stopped into Dickie's barbecue. I had a barbecued brisket sandwich. I was under the impression I got to sides with that. But I think they added it all up as à la carte. The food was absolutely perfection. But the prices are way too steep for me. The potato salad was to die for. And the beans were so good. The brisket was cooked to perfection. It was so soft. There's not a lot of customers it's just there are only 2 employees working. I don't blame the employees they are doing their best. I ordered wings, and per the menu (which was hung up in a convoluted, patch-work sort of collage) they were supposed to be "pit smoked". The server then proceeded to put some, what I assume to be frozen, wings into a deep fryer. When I asked about the fact that their menu said something different - pit smoked and not deep fried wings, the server was of absolutely no help, and just said something to the effect of "that's just how we cook them". The prices were crazy high, and I can only imagine, based on my limited experience, what the other dishes served may be like. Why would I come to a BBQ place to get fried wings at premium prices? This place has the feel of a one great barbecue shop. We came all the way out from Orange County to see a show at transitions brewery. I'd heard about dickies and was really excited to come try their food. The location is suspicious, and a little disappointing. There were people waiting for food so that was encouraging. The brisket, and the ribs were both quite good, although the ribs were a touched dry, and that surprised me. I look forward to giving the dickies in Buena Park. Another try before I chuck this one up to experience. I heard a lot about dickies, and maybe my expectations were a little too high, but they definitely were marginally met. So I came to Dickeys for some commercial style bbq to see if I was missing anything. After looking online at the menu, I decided to drive over and order in person which I was glad I did. This place only has two people working there lucky they weren't that busy so I looked over the menu and saw that they had beef ribs, but I thought it was beef plate ribs but it's beef back ribs, which I ordered still I also ordered a half a rack of pork rib, ribs, and a side of what they call barbecue baked beans. It was all to go. I paid about $46-$50 for the Whole shooting match so when I got home, I was really excited about eating it even though I did not smell any smoke which worried me but I also didn't smell that much smoke when I walked inside, which is also a sign usually but I wanted to try them and so when I got home, still no smoky smell or aroma the pork ribs were fall off the bone had a slight pepper flavor and salt, but no smoky flavor. The beef back rib also was seasoned pretty good. They had a slight smoky flavor, but I would rather both of those needs to have a stronger smoke year Hickory. I believe they use aroma now the barbecue baked beans did not taste like barbecue. They did not taste baked. They tasted exactly like pork and beans. I was very disappointed in that. I probably will not be going to any other dickies restaurant ever again. I think I've seen enough and tasted enough. I do not recommend this place. The service there was nice. read more

First off, the customer service in this place has improved a great deal from a year ago. They are rather generous with the meat portions. The sides are small but are pretty good. Today, a Sunday I ordered the Pork Chop dinner, the chops were made fresh to order and for the sides, I got yams , and macaroni and cheese. To my surprise, because I purchased a dinner, I got a kids meal free. I chose the pulled pork with macaroni and cheese. We had ice cream cones while we waited. My first time coming to this place, and I was not impressed with the food I brought! I brought 2 sizes and Peach Cobbler Pie. The Mac n cheese seem dried out and not cheesey. Candy hams seemed a bit watered down! They need to add more sugar, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and marinate the ingredients a lot longer so the ingredients can fuse together! The Peach cobbler pie had a harsh after taste that made it very hard to swallow the first bite! Whatever they put in the cobbler pie, please do not put the spice back into it again! Stopped by on our way home from Mammoth. Food was delicious, hot, and they were very customer service forward. We shared a two meat plate with sliced brisket and pork ribs. The brisket was lean and the ribs nice and meaty! I love their baked beans too... must give them a try. The tables were clean as was the restroom. Ordered to go. Food was awful. Mac and Cheese was a solid ball of noodles with cold cheese on top. Jalapeño cheddar Kabasa was just sausage with no jalapeño or cheddar. The brisket was supposed to be sliced brisket however it was more of a shredded fatty tissue. And the brisket chili was just spicy chili with no brisket in it. They can stop the False advertisement for starters. I noticed their social media advertising things like Oxtails and Fried Chicken plates. But if close, they stealing other cooks content and posting it like its their own. Lancaster isnt anywhere near Joyfultaste_ in Texas where they stealing photos from. And these dudes get salty and Block you if you call em out on they BS. Dishonest business that cuts corners. Dickeys BBQ is probably the worst option you could choose for smoked meats. They dont follow traditional standards of preparation all the way down to slicing meat. Their practice is unsanitary & from the looks of it, their pricing is in accurate and dishonest. Theres a clear reason they shut down 20% of their locations. They need someone to rewrite their franchise, menu & reteach their methods.
