This place has good food!! But bullshit customer service. I called to place a pick up order 30 minutes before closing. I was placed on hold for a full 20 minutes before hanging up. Attempting to call back I received a busy signal until the closing time of 8pm. I don't appreciate this kind of crap. I can spend my money anywhere!!! But I chose to spend it here. They apparently didn't want to do business anymore on this particular day. If I was the business owner, I'd be F ing pissed off at these employees. This has become a glorified, very expensive version of McDonalds. You have to order before you are seated, then wait for your food. We ordered potato skins (they quartered the potatoes, added some cheese and looks like they waved a slice of bacon over them) as an appetizer, asked that they one out 1st. They did, by about 2 minutes. I ordered a bacon burger (forget the name of it), med rare. It was more med then rare. My wife ordered the BBQ chicken, said it was good, but not worth the $18.95 it cost. One appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 iced teas cost over $65. This setup is ridiculous, food below average for the cost. First time at this restaurant. Came for lunch. Hostess didn't welcome us or offer any suggestions even though it wasn't crowded. Had to order off the menu board before we could be seated. Decor was eclectic, though we had to ask that the model train be turned on. Food was just ok, only thing exceptional was the tri-tip. Ribs were just ok. Owners would be well advised at add a salad with chunks or strips of tri-tip, it was that good! (Edit: Pics of previous menus on Yelp show there is such a salad, Texas Rancher. Perhaps their menu offerings had to be cut back because of Covid, because it wasn't available when we were there.) Mac&cheese was creamy all the way to the bottom of the dish. This was my first time back to Texas Cattle Company since last year. I entered the restaurant to find out that you had to order you food at the front counter. No more wait staff coming to your table to give you an menu and take your order. The menu is now on a giant board behind the counter. Lots of misspellings on the menu. My husband pointed that out the lady taking our order and she could of cared less. Like Potatoe Salad. Never going again. I don't mind ordering my food then sitting down when I expect that. I fully understand that things have changed with covid. We had to order and pay in advance. I am glad we didn't have to tip in advance even though it was an option. The waitress brought the wrong food. Came back with the right food. Finally brought lemon for my ice tea. Never came back. Didn't ask if we needed more drink or if the food was OK. Meat was dry. Came here while in town for a softball tournament. It said grand reopening on the front which automatically made me more nervous. This is a place where you order and pay at the front then they sit you at a table, sort of like they are cutting out the waiter/waitress taking your order. It appeared the staff were still in training so took a little longer to order than what you should experience. They had pictures of local beers up to order which I thought would be on tap but actually were in cans. For an appetizer we had the potato skins and for main meal had the brisket and pulled pork sandwich. Each main meal comes with two sides. Food came out pretty quick which is on the positive side. The food is a little higher on the price point so be aware when you decide to go there that it will be 15-22 per entree. The potato skins were a good quantity but a little light on flavor the pulled pork sandwich was a little small for the price and needed the bbq sauce for flavor and moisture. The brisket was pretty good but came out smothered in bbq sauce which you may or may not want. Overall the experience was okay, but would probably go somewhere else next time I am down there. read more

The hostess/server (not my server) welcomed me in and took me to my table. Long story short, she took my order and asked if I wanted some popcorn. I looked at her blanked because for one, I have never been offered popcorn before (only peanuts), and two, I worked the midnight shift had just woke up from a short nap so I thought I was heading things. LOL! After a couple more tries, I finally agreed to have some popcorn. After sometime, my assigned server came out with my order. Unfortunately that was the first and last time I saw him before my checked arrived. My assigned waiter never came back to check on me and my drink. Steak was tasteless. The service was good and everything was really clean. The biggest gripe is the service fee for using a credit card and it's was not displayed anywhere where we saw it. Decor is very nice. Service friendly and efficient. Hallway to restrooms was dark with no light at all. Food is so so. Baby Back Ribs dry, overcooked, needed more sauce. But, today my son and I go and they tried to bring my son a different meal than what he ordered, not once but twice. My order was a Patty Melt that was bland, dry and no flavor, but the fries were good. You're standing there looking up at the menu while the employee is waiting for you. It feels like you're being rushed, especially if there's other people waiting. This places was fantastic from the moment we walked in until we left. We were greeted and seated quickly. The wait staff was awesome!! Mark was our waiter. Wow. He was Incredibly nice, he seemed to genuinely care about us. The food; the food was delicious!! I had steak, perfectly cooked. Salad with house ranch jalapeño dressing. It was very tasty and simple!! I also had a baked potato that was huge and had plenty of sour cream and butter! The facility was clean and decorated like we were in a Texas steak house!! Highly disappointed. Texas Cattle Company used to be one of my favorite spots to go, but unfortunately that's not the case anymore. Sucks that one bad experience can ruin your view of the place. I have not been since before COVID hit. When we walked in, we had 3 people say someone will be right with you. I could see in the kitchen that a group of employees were standing around talking. After about 5 minutes or so, someone came to take our order. I did not like the new set up, having to order as soon as you walk in. She said they had to do that because of covid... funny because all other sit-down restaurants still seat you and come to take your order. After we ordered, they seated us at the table right behind the front counter. I forgot to mention one of the screens on the digital board was out, so there was a missing page of the menu. Anyway, after we got our food, we were eating for a couple minutes and literally AS I WAS TAKING A BITE OF MY FOOD, the hostess asked us to move tables because they were going to try to fix the screen. There was only 1 other table occupied in the restaurant at that time, so it wasn't like they were busy. I was irate. They couldn't have waited 20 minutes until we left to fix that? And we're pretty sure they didn't even touch the tv after all of that, it was still out when we left, probably exactly 20 minutes later! Then they never came and checked on us on their own for refills or anything. We were out of drinks for a good 15 minutes before someone made eye contact with us and then walked over asking if we needed something. Like you see two empty glasses, and we still have a half of a plate of food in front of us... can you guess what we might need?! Irritating. Overall, staff was not accommodating whatsoever, new way of dining of ordering first was annoying, asked to move in the middle of our meal, food was very mediocre (not tasty whatsoever).
