The first employee I asked had no idea. I asked for someone who could help. I was told to go to the front desk for assistance. I waited in line, asked the cashier, and she also didn't know. I had to ask for additional assistance. She sent me to find another employee on aisle 2. Thankfully, that young man was the only bright spot in this experience. He took the time to measure the piece I brought in with calipers and helped me determine I needed a 1 1/4 inch hole saw for PVC. He was professional, patient, and genuinely tried to help. Meanwhile, the checkout situation was equally frustrating. The line grew to three times its original length. Another cashier was called up, customers moved to the shorter line, and then were told to go back to the original line until they were called over. There was no signage or clear direction, so every new customer repeatedly got in the wrong line. It was poorly set up and not customer friendly or logical. The store would benefit from more employees with subject matter expertise, stronger customer service training, and a more organized, customer friendly process for opening additional checkout lanes. I doubt I will return, which is unfortunate, because with better staffing and clearer systems this could have been a very different experience. The only saving grace was the one employee who sincerely tried to help.

The only issue I had while I was there was there was only one lady working the cash register and there was a good 5+ of us waiting in line at a certain point, and it was moving at a snail's pace. I asked for a drink with a splash, listen to me when I say this a "splash," of heavy cream, and she poured, "poured," so much heavy cream it's disgusting. I don't know how you are training these people, but the difference between, and I'm trying not to curse here, but this is the second time these people don't know what the hell they're doing, if you don't know the difference between a splash, and a Poer, I don't know what to tell you a customer is asking you for a very specific thing. I wanted enough to change the color of my coffee as I said. You poured almost an entire shot glass full of heavy cream into my coffee. It's just kind of stupid I don't get it Train your people to listen to your customers and give them what they want when they requested. Literally he returned my call within 3 minutes. Today was his day off, but I told him I would be in the area and he said it was fine to go by and take a look so I did. I went in and I acknowledged the staff without them acknowledging me at all. It's a really small showroom, not a megastore. I found the two models I was looking for quickly on my own and took pictures and measurements of each. I then walked around the showroom looking for more models but also half expecting someone to approach. That's when it got really weird. No one approached me at all. I literally left with no human interaction. There were employees in the store and there were a couple of customers. It seemed that there was more of a coffee klatch going on than actual business. So other than for appliance pictures and measurements and a couple of pieces of candy from their candy dish, I didn't get much out of the experience. Something else to mention. It's not clear whether this business is Ferguson or Harway. The building sign says Harway but the reserved parking signs say Ferguson. Is Harway a Ferguson company or is Ferguson a Harway company? There's only one business at this address but it seems to be having an identity crisis. (Update: Ferguson acquired Harway in January 2024, but, as of this writing in late March 2025, still hasn't rebranded anything other than the parking signs out front). Sorry, Ryan. You seemed awesome but your team members totally let you down today. I recently moved to Texas to build a dream home and decided to splurge on all the appliances. The builders I worked with suggested a big name appliance company here in Austin but they were incredibly difficult to deal with. Although I was going to spend more than $50k in appliances, the person at Ferguson would never return emails or phone calls. I was interested in the Wolf/Sub Zero lines and Harway came up as an authorized dealer so I decided to give them a try. My initial contact was with Dustin who was incredibly helpful from the first time we spoke all the way through delivery and installation. I had a general idea of the different appliances I wanted and Dustin was incredibly helpful making sure I picked out all the items I wanted. Their prices were essentially the same as the other appliance store, but the customer service at Harway is unparalleled. When I would call, Dustin would answer immediately or call back within minutes if he couldn't get to the phone. He always responded to emails in a very timely manner and for every concern or issue I had, he managed it flawlessly. Because of the backlog going on with just about everything, I went and ordered all of my appliances one year out from the estimated completion date of my new home. Initially it seemed most items would come in close to the completion date but the major items, refrigerator and grill, were going to come in later. And unfortunately, month after I had placed my order, I discovered I had missed the outdoor grill and cabinets and had to place another order. It was much later than the original order so I wasn't sure if I was going to get them before the house was finished. This would have been a problem since the grill had to be built into the house. No surprise, the house build kept getting delayed and delayed. And the appliances actually came in before the house was finished which was great since we were concerned if they were delayed it would hold up completion of the house. Unfortunately, we couldn't take delivery but Harway was amazing and just stored the items for us and there were ten major appliances. The other Austin appliance store was not going to store if the items came in and we weren't ready. Harway must have held the items for a month before the house was ready for them to be installed. But when the time came, they scheduled the entire installation and everything (refrigerator, range, wine reefer, ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, two warming drawers, an outdoor grill and ventilation hood) were all installed in one day! They also helped me find a company that built a custom duct for range vent because of our high ceilings. And for any issue, they were so quick to respond. And the biggest surprise of all, was getting ALL of the appliances. We were originally told it would be a month or two after we moved in before we got the range and refrigerator. But Christmas came early and we received all the appliances on the same day! And given all the appliances, the only issue was just a tiny little rubber stopper on the outdoor grill missing which they had someone come out and replace within days. If you are in need of a single appliance or outfitting an entire home as we did... you won't find a better place than Harway. And I'm sure everyone who works here is amazing, I can't say enough great things about Dustin! He will give you Five Star treatment and will not stop taking care of you until everything is to your satisfaction.

Whether you're looking for wine, craft beer, spirits, or something new to try, they've got it! Pricing is solid, and we've always found it to be competitive. We've even done comparisons to the Costco Liquor Store and have found Total Wine to be around the same price and cheaper at times depending on the item. One thing that's been really cool to see is their growing THC/CBD section. It's expanded a ton and they've done a great job curating options if you're curious about exploring that space. The staff is also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. If you're unsure what to grab, they'll point you in the right direction without making you feel overwhelmed, PLUS there are SO MANY STAFF members that are always eager and willing to help! Every time we've gone in we've always been approached by at least 2 teams members to see if we need help. Bonus: they frequently have samplers throughout the week so you can try something new before committing to a bottle and if they don't have samplers they often have open bottles of some of the liquors that you can ask to sample as well, typically designated by labels on the shelf. They often have a good variety of local or regional coverage for the area I'm in in regards to craft beer. So Steve and I stocked up on a lot of beer that was based in Austin or the surrounding area. Quite a few were on my list to try from the selection here which really made the two of us thrilled! So that's why I enjoy hitting Total Wine. But even my local one isn't shabby either even though the beer brands are very familiar sometimes a new one springs on us from around the corner in regards to selection.
