I was looking for a new heavy duty utensil holder. Something a little heavier, since I have knocked mine over a few times being it is just over stuffed with utensils, off balanced, and I use it to hold up my cutting boards that lean against the wall. I did see some that were a heavy ceramic, but I'm concerned about chipping, marble is a little more than what I want to spend. They did have round wooden ones, but they were small in diameter. But I did like the designs, but I'm looking for more functional and unbreakable. The search will continue. I was greeted when I walked in. I ordered a wedding gift from the Crate & Barrel Wedding Registry, but within 10 minutes, I realized that I had selected the wrong bride. I called, texted and tried to cancel the order but was told that it cannot be cancelled "once submitted to picking." This is unacceptable! I even called the local store and all the supervisor could tell me is the customer service number...again. Ordered glasses on line, we're supposed to be ready the next day. Went to the store, they told me in a few days. I said I'm here, can I get them, she said no. I cancelled. Horrible service. Love this store! The kitchen section makes us drool with how beautiful all the cookware is. The showroom upstairs with the furniture has tons of couches and chairs to try which is invaluable before you choose what to buy! And they have loads of coupons and double points days if you're patient. The only issue I've had with this store was with follow up with customer service. They sent someone out to look at a part of our couch that arrived in poor condition, and they ordered us a new part but they ordered the wrong part. They said they'd follow up and they never did despite my trying. read more

I attempted to purchase a sectional using create and barrel credit card, but it was during the switch over to imprint financial services. While processing order I had to activate my credit card and once activated and I clicked on processed order the stores computer timed out but the charge went through. The store showed no purchased but the charge was showing against my account. Called imprint where they said there is nothing they can do even thought the store manager informed them of the issue, but still nothing was done. I called Create and Barrel's main office where they checked and didn't see any transaction. Customer service Rep contacted IT and they said the charge would clear in 48 hours. It's now been 10 days and $3029.27 is still showing. I called back to imprint about the charge and they said there is nothing they can do, create and barrel will have to do a refund. I called back to Create and Barrel and the Rep said there is no transaction to refund. The customer service rep is going to escalate this again to their sales team and I should hear something back in 24 to 48 hours like I was told last time I highly recommend that anyone that's considering getting a Crate & Barrel credit card I recommend you not. The company they use prior to manage their reward card was very good. This imprint financial services is the worst financial services I've ever dealt with their customer service is horrible. They want to blame everyone, but try to get the issue fixed. read more

Apparently you can not return anything unless it's defective, bought very poor quality cutting board used once tried to return within the week of purchase and told not defective but agreed it was poor quality. I will never step foot in their stores ever again. read more

Just not happy with a few things here. First of the girl that help my husband and I did not specify that the crib we bought is an extra purchase to change it to a toddler bed (the only reason why we bought the crib) also our delivery service have ripped our brand new 7k couch and left stains. They didn't put the furniture in the correct places and when assembling they scratched up the furniture. Our bed is not assembled properly either and has gaps where it should be flushed together. I am very very disappointed in this situation. They say they offer white glove service but this is less than that. read more

If you order furniture from Crate and Barrel be prepared to wait 4-6 weeks longer than the delivery date. My furniture is beautiful and I'm extremely happy (now) but a christmas present that appears in late January isn't as much fun for the gift giver or receiver. Also know this: The local store doesn't know anything about your online order. After being frustrated with the online and phone customer service I decided to make a trip to the store. No dice. In my THREE trips over a six week period I received different and conflicting answers each time. The staff were friendly and empathetic but were not able to provide accurate information. We ordered an expensive sectional in early December for an estimated delivery in late January. The sectional has now been delayed three times and is six months late. We're several years past supply chain issues and C&B has the worst time estimates you'll ever deal with. Support can't say anything besides "it is being worked on". They don't know where the pieces are being manufactured. They don't know if the estimate is accurate (I doubt it ever is). After you email executives, you're connected with the "executive care team" that also won't do anything to help you. At this point with delays, we could've earned $125 by having our deposit placed in a regular high-yield savings account. I assume C&B is making that money on an unfulfilled product. read more

Ask them specifically - Where exact stage are the items in production - Do the delivery people work for Crate and Barrel - Why do you offer 10% off when I buy with a Crate and Barrel credit card because now I can't dispute payment via American Express for non Delivery of an item. Bill collection. Dispute resolution. You're not dealing with Jeff @Amazon dot com. You're dealing with a showroom that cannot deliver because they have outsourced making you happy In Chicago, the crate and Barrel is way better because Chicago is chock full of debt collector alums that raise holy hell when their stuff does not come. Re: Wedding Registry They have exceptional customer service. Unless you register bone China dinnerware, the now discontinued Kita dinnerware we registered four and a half years ago, wasn't very sturdy. After our wedding, we quickly learned cracks had developed in our plates and bowls. Because it was within ninety days of purchase, we were able to exchange it for a new one. Over the last four and a half years, we have never washed our dinnerware in the dishwasher and only used it twice a year on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Despite our efforts, one of our bowls still cracked. I spoke to Chrissy in customer service and Chase, the manager, two months ago. They both happily agreed to exchange our cracked bowl and were able to have a discontinued bowl shipped from L.A. Unfortunately, the replacement bowl shipped from L.A. last month also had a crack in it. Olivia happily exchanged it for another discontinued bowl she found in Maryland. Thank you so much for going above and beyond! We are happy to have a pristine wedding registry collection. read more

They're taking covid SERIOUSLY but haven't figured out a good system for check out.... You have to go to register at BACK of store... if it gets crowded runners will pull you to two other registers (kitchen area & up front).... but you can't start anywhere else.... even if there is noone in those areas (?) Seems ridiculous AND concentrates lines back where it's more closed in & is smaller area....? Two staff persons I interacted with, trying to check out, were MANIC in their mannerisms & speech... one seemed personally offended when I commented that they will need to figure out something better before Christmas rush.... If you're in a hurry near Christmas, avoid this store. While I APPRECIATE the efforts to socially distance, they have a HUGE store and could figure out a better system. There are, I believe, also registers upstairs? If there's more than 1-2 people waiting at any given register could be directed elsewhere... but to walk past 2 empty registers to get to one with a long line seems counter productive. read more

I loved this place. I've never been to a Crate and Barrel store before so I was pretty enthused about wandering around for an hour while visiting from Virginia. I saw some really cute bed and bath and kitchen things but I really found some items I loved upstairs in the furniture section. Some of the couches were very comfortable and just my style. I saw some nice bookshelves, ottomans, and I also found a rug I really liked that might work in my dining room - I have been searching for a rug that is 10x14 and they are very difficult to find. The gal working inside was nice and when I explained I would be ordering and having sent to Virginia as I was from out of state she said I could order online of course but could call her back if I chose to order something and then if there were an issue I could work it with her directly - which would be nice. I may purchase a rug and some comfy oversize couches for my media room from Crate and Barrel in a few months after this trip! read more

They sell a bunch of different housewares, kitchenware, furniture, lamps, rugs and all kinds of things to make your home a home. I really enjoy their kitchen stuff- they have beautiful stuff to make your kitchen shine and sparkle with chromed out kitchen appliances, and cool, modern things to serve up grub on. The upstairs is all furniture, with a variety of sofas and easy chairs that go from compact to deep and luxurious. The staff was friendly, gave a bunch of help and assistance about design and materials of the stuff they were selling. The employee was super knowledgeable and had an iPad to show off what things look like when they're assembled or different finishes or fabrics, along with the prices. Everything can be delivered for a flat fee. Parking was easy, and the place has an escalator to get upstairs! It's a nice store! read more

I remembered C & B as I purchased a nice item a few years back & knew they would have quality items. I went into the store and walked around then stood at the knife section for a long time walked around the store again & again no one asked me if they could help me so getting annoyed I left. I had been driving all over Austin, TX for over 3 hours North then South at this point & decided I needed to eat lunch & regroup. I googled Steak Knives and low & behold 'Crate & Barrel' came up with the EXACT set I was looking for, WUSTHOF 8 - Stainless Steel Steak Knives for $130.00 Dollars with wood box. When I arrived and requested the set, I was told by the Associate Rodney AFTER I waited for over 20 min he told me "they" I assumed was the Manager, could not locate the "7 Sets" stated were 'in-stock' online. I asked if they could sell me the Display set? No, they offered me the same Brand 10 piece set with the carving knife & Serving fork for $160.00. After all of the waiting for the manager or who ever to walk out with the product, I continued to walk around & found another item I needed, & still no one in the store EVER asked me if I needed assistance. However, there was this female associate working & walking all around me asking other customers if they needed assistance. Once I made my mind up that I would be spending more money for the 10 Piece set, the Associate Rodney called for a Manager and I tell you as I'm watching her walk up to the register he never got a word out of this mouth about offering me a 10% discount, she was already saying "NO" we can't discount this item Reason: This Knife Vendor does not have an allowance for C & B to discount their items for customers. I understand that vendors expect their products to be sold at a particular agreed upon price. However, rude Manager she had no Customer Service skills!!.. I heard a LOT of SORRY's but no action. I believe and you can correct me please, It is common knowledge that all Businesses have a small "customer service satisfaction" leeway with any 'unsatisfied' customer to provide a "Store" discount especially to show good will towards the customer who was mislead by the C & B Online Website. She said they all disappeared and she had no idea where they went. Does this sound fishy to anyone? 7 Sets of German knives up & disappears right after the Holidays? We found some very cool beer gear here. Beautiful Pilsner glasses made in Poland for under $20 each. They will make a swell gift for Hubby. Also lusted over a cute Keggerator for mini kegs. It's really just a pretty black and chrome container for your baby kegs. Why do you need that? Only because it's cute and you have lots of money which I don't. I love the kitcheny area with the pretty placemats, plates, cups and bowls. There are many fun gadgets that make me want to go home and throw everything away so I can start over and buy the newer cooler models. I would need a live-in chef and an unlimited food budget. Finally received my couch last week. CB did take a little bit of the top for "all my troubles" but I still would not return to shop there again. It may take ten years before the sour taste that the unbelievably poor customer experience I had with them leaves my mouth. If you are getting married and trying to decide where to register, I highly recommend Crate & Barrel. Their online registry was a piece of cake to set-up. I mostly did it in my pj's from home. Although we did go to the store once to pick out dishes and silverware. I never had to dive back to the store to make any adjustments to our registry. It was all easily done online. The fiancee and I quickly agreed on everything we wanted, because there are no bad choices at this store. Plus we were able to give our guests some pretty affordable options. Everything is streamlined and user friendly. And when gifts were shipped to our house, everything was packed really well with gift receipts and cards. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we came in with all of our gift certificates to buy some furniture. No one blinked and eye when I plopped down a stack of gift cards, and our bed arrived in a week! Plus, I got a 10% off coupon in the mail following the wedding to use an any purchase of items I didn't receive. Even picking up the furniture from the warehouse was easy. They called me! Now the day of the delivery we are told it was delayed earlier this week and a voicemail was left.... They did not make a second effort to get back in touch with us to explain the change in delivery. This is how it looked when I arrived home. I immediately called them and whoever I spoke to,unapologetically, said they had another one in the store which also looked a little worn out. I'm confused as to why these are being sold "a little worn out." I bring it back to the store and the employee tells me "it looks fine to me." No apologies. I left in pure shock.
