Terry's Place is always our go to place, to dine. The food is delicious, large portions with a large variety of items to choose from and reasonable prices. The service is there is always impeccable and diner friendly. Recently they added a cheese cake dessert to the menu. It is the best cheese cake that we have ever had. The special was Key Lime cheese cake. It did not disappoint. It had a buttery graham cracker crust with a firm, rich and creamy cheese cake, of a generous portion size. Hiden gem! Wow. The portions are massive; you can easily share a sandwich and a basket of fries. The fresh made great is so soft and warm and yum. The service was excellent too. Great food, Service and ambiance, very comfortable there and always satisfied... try the Southwest burger, shrimp basket with Boom Boom sauce of course or you can never go wrong ordering the wings... We came here for the first time with a couple of Ocala local friends, and we will be sure to come back again. It's quite a comfortable casual bar and restaurant, but unlike most because they had food beyond bar food and the prices that go with that. The servings are not just generous, but downright humongous! Our friends ordered one order of the fried fish and shrimp, which came with choices, and they picked French fries and coleslaw. ($18.95) The serving of their delicious crisp slaw was a bowl about 4 times the size of any I've ever had. The platter came with 4 large fish fillets and 18 large shrimp! It was piled up high, and could easily feed 4 people. We ordered a half pound Angus Swiss mushroom burger, fried onion rings, and 10 hot chicken wings. They cook the burgers to your liking, and the roll was tender and chewy. Bf only ate half. read more

My wife and I tried Terry's for the first time. We were seate at a table, ordered two beers... then waited. And waited. And waited. There were a number of emplyees all gathered in groups, talking and laughing... But no matter what we did we could not get anyone to check on our beers or take our foid order. If they were really busy, maybe understandable. But they were just too busy talking and having a fun time. After more than 30 minutes of no service, we just got up and left. Won't be back. read more

This is a off the beat and path locals dive bar, nice people, TouchTunes available. TVs, sense of community. Friendly people and staff. Easy parking. I didn't have anything to eat but the food looked and smelled delicious. The homemade bread subs are HUGE! The prices are VERY reasonable and a great value! This place is a dive. It's a bar with great food and service. Their portions are huge so make sure you have a large appetite. We ordered two sandwiches--one steak and cheese and the other turkey. We also ordered the fried mushrooms. The mushrooms came with ranch and were the good old fashioned way. Both sandwiches were tasty and full of meat and toppings. This place is definitely one of those places that looks like a dive not only from the outside but when you walk in the door! But don't let the looks fool you! The menu is not what you would expect from a bar. Everything is fresh and well made. It's one of the few places in Ocala that goes to the trouble of making their own rolls and bread. But my favorite thing I had were the fries! I'm not usually a huge fan of fries but I seriously could not stop eating these! I had the steak sandwich which was very good but judging by the plates I saw on other tables I need to try one of the dinners. The steaks looked great as did the salads. I will be back! read more

I ordered the rib dinner add a pc of fish. It was served cold. Waitress repeatedly said it wasn't. Then since I didn't want it remade they charged for the salad and rolls they served. So basically don't eat anything until you know they won't give you cold food. read more

My absolute favorite local restaurant. Terry's is always a good time and the prices are unbeatable.

It's not fancy but it's fantastic. We've been here several times when we're on the north side of town. We've been working our way through the menu for a few years now. So far I have no complaints and neither has anyone I've dined with here. The portions are huge and easily shareable. Everything I've eaten was delicious and freshly prepared. The breads, including the hamburger buns, are made in house. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was treated like a rich uncle dining with fawning relatives. I wish the interior was not so dark and the environs not so shabby but it won't keep me from returning or recommending a visit to others. It's worth finding. read more

My husband had a sub; bread was okay but filling sub par. Usually I give a red three strikes you're out policy... this place gets 1. I usually eat lunch here at least once when I'm visiting the area. It's a no frills bar/restaurant a mile or two off Hwy 40 in East Ocala. The kicker is they serve pretty damn good food for very reasonable prices. The portions are huge as well. This time around I ordered the Monday lunch special- a 1/2lb cheeseburger with fries. The burger comes on a house made bun with the usual fresh fixings. If I'm not mistaken, there are 2 slices of American cheese on the hefty burger. The bun is great. Nice and soft, but substantial enough to hold the burger together. It's a good 7" across. The fries are thick cut and appear to be lightly breaded. You get a huge portion with the burger for $7.99. Can't beat that. Just be sure to arrive by 3pm- that's when the daily lunch special ends. As for the food, it's not just big portions. The quality is there too- very tasty. Service is always great. Friendly and prompt waitresses that make you feel welcome. I didn't notice the sign out front this time around. I recall a few years ago it was advertising an all-you-can-drink special for $12(!) on a Fri or Sat night. I've never visited at night for drinks, but with prices like that, I'll bet this place goes off. 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5! read more

In a word - HORRIBLE. The food was poor quality, over priced and the service oblivious. I had a mushroom Swiss burger. I ordered it rare and it came medium. There was nothing else that came with the burger except a pickle - no lettuce, tomato, or onions. I has to pay $4 more for fries. My husband ordered a "cordon blu" sandwich which turned out to be a piece of overcooked fried chicken with a slice of deli ham - again nothing with it. It took forever for the waitress to get to our table, and a really long wait to actually get the food. My husband ordered a draft beer and it turned out to be a small 8 oz. The best I can say for the food is that it did arrive hot - terrible taste, but hot. I took most of the order home and fed it to the dog. read more

Bar food that's five stars, what the heck? Yes it's true, but keep in mind that when I give bar food five stars I'm comparing it to other bar food not to fine dining, so keep that in mind. As far as bar food goes it doesn't get any better than this. Monster hamburgers on delicious homemade buns, fish and chips perfectly cooked and not dripping in grease, and much much more. Terry's is more than bar food it's like an old fashioned small time diner. Now Terry's was probably last updated when Nixon was president but you don't go here for the ambience, you go for the food. Be prepared to wait between 4 and 6pm, every senior citizen within twenty miles is there for the food. It doesn't hurt that their prices are great and that a mug of beer is $1.25. Yes you read that right. I like this place so much I go at least once a month, it's actually pretty fun so give it a try. read more

I'm wondering about this review actually the reviews that were previously written, at this restaurant. Terry's place really is kind of a neat divey bar restaurant. In the previous reviews that were written they really slammed the service, But I really like the service I thought our server was really really nice. The burger that I had was outstanding, it was huge, it was good. I do wish that they had a more eclectic hamburger menu, but you go to dive bar so what do you expect. All their hamburgers or half pounders. The buns I imagine our homemade in the very very good. I would have easily given this place five stars, but they really didn't have an eclectic menu made a dive bar menu. But, all the food look great. So, maybe I'm the idiot in doing the review on this one and just giving it four stars. But, this is a place I would definitely go back to. read more

Last night eight of us gathered at one of our favorite restaurants for our regular Friday get-to-gether. We were seated after just a few minutes wait and the waitress took our beverage order and brought them quickly. I sipped my plain water with lemon and was immediately overwhelmed with a strong chlorine odor and taste. It was replaced with good lemonade. We placed our order and our salads came after a bit of a wait. Then the waiting began and went on and on. We sat for an hour and a half before my husband asked why we had no food when folks who came much later than we did were served and had eaten. We were told our food was next up and indeed it was presented about 5 minutes later STONE COLD on hot plates. My medium-rare steak and my daughters were well-done leather, the fish dinners were cold, and fries and onion rings were cold and limp. The excuse I got was that they were waiting for all of the meals to be served together, if that were the case ONE of the meals would have been hot. The manager could not fathom that! She did comp my meal because I could not eat it. The checks were delivered with 10% discounts which were later changed to 20%. Most plates were left, uneaten on the table, a couple taken home to see if they could be salvaged in an air fryer.
